Re: [ha-Safran] video teaching peace (Karen Hering)
Hi Karen, I asked my family in Israel (they live in Beit Shemesh) if they knew of any videos of Israeli teachers teaching about peace. My brother-in-law's response was as follows: " Frankly, the prior assumption there is offensive. But, no worse than the US colleges this week, so ce la vie, I guess? Go to YouTube and search for ""שיר לשלום" בכיתה" for hundreds of musical ones. Here's just one, with the obligatory Arab kids and some speeches in English too, for the full kumbaya effect: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3h56S4D5-4__;!!KGKeukY!0yCSV2Cpw-w2Jj-eRFA-KilYyYz_Ndwy0QJwjkQpE9_HcmwnJGxhc78jOeZf85ZrqQziBVOEKJbd0lo4jwlczw$ " Good luck, Lisa Rohde Systems Librarian Jewish Theological Seminary Library A209 (M-Th 9:30-5) (212-678-8044) Cell: 646-339-7845 -Original Message- From: Hasafran On Behalf Of hasafran-requ...@lists.osu.edu Sent: Friday, October 20, 2023 12:00 PM To: hasafran@lists.osu.edu Subject: Hasafran Digest, Vol 613, Issue 5 CAUTION: This email originated from outside JTSA. How can we prepare students to think critically with information literacy instruction? Embracing play and playfulness in instruction is one strategy for building capacity in order to grapple with weighty topics. The act of play can make it possible to gain distance from reality in order to think past the constraints of life, and instead adapt to a task with curiosity and fresh perspective. Incorporating play simply for the sake of engagement is also worthwhile. CCLI seeks proposals about how librarians have utilized play in their instruction to solve information literacy challenges. [ha-Safran] video teaching peace
I am hoping someone can help - a friend has a niece currently doing a MEd at a Canadian university. Her prof showed a video of a Palestinian teacher talking to the elementary aged kids in her class about peace. The teacher was willing to show but unable to find a video showing an Israeli teacher teaching about peace in Israel. Would anyone know of such a video (in English or with English subtitles) that could be shown?
