Dr Ristina Majid, one of the key players in the "fix Anwar Ibrahim
conspiracy", recently died of a stroke while on a trip to Indonesia. FAC
News spoke to Mak Chik, a close friend of the family, about what makes
this woman tick.
"Majid never forgave his daughter for what she did to Anwar," said Mak
Chik. "But Dr Ristina was stubborn. She would not give in. She would
always have heated arguments with her father."
"I was supposed to meet the sister, Linda, that day," added Mak Chik.
"She suddenly called to say that she had to rush to Indonesia to bring
her sister's body home."
"We were all shocked. Actually it was quite uncanny. Just a day earlier
Linda had complained about Dr Ristina. She told me how Dr Ristina was out
of control and the family just did not know what to do with her. Then,
the next day, the sister dies."
"Linda is the younger sister. She is very nice and nothing at all like Dr
Ristina."
"Their father got very sick soon after the Anwar Ibrahim controversy. He
felt so embarrassed about what his daughter had done. The family believes
he was so ashamed he did not want to live anymore."
"I know it is God's will if you live or die. But the father was clearly
heartbroken and no longer had the will to live. The family believes this
is part of the reason why he died."
"Dr Ristina had always been a problem. When she wanted to marry Aziz
Samsuddin, the family was appalled." (Aziz Samsuddin, now a Malaysian
Cabinet Minister, is another key player in the Anwar Ibrahim conspiracy
whose wife died in a car crash).
"What do you see in that short, ugly man?" the family asked her. "They
could not understand what she saw in him. But she was adamant and just
brushed the family aside."
"Dr Ristina was always in and out of marriages. She had been married many
times before, once to an American-African, a Caucasian, and so on. But
the marriage to Aziz Samsuddin never materialized, much to the family's
relieve."
"She was also a heavy drinker. Once, while she was babysitting Linda's
four-year old daughter, she was so pissed drunk she didn't notice that
the toddler was drowning in the swimming pool. The poor girl died while
Dr Ristina was pissed drunk. That's the kind of irresponsible person she
was."
"Soon after Anwar's trial, Dr Ristina employed Azizan as her driver. This
made it too obvious that there was something going on between them. The
family very strongly objected to this but to no avail. It just proved
further that she was behind Azizan and had, as everyone alleges,
encouraged and coached Azizan to cook up the story on Anwar."
"Even after Azizan testified under oath that Anwar never did sodomise
him, she would not relent or repent. She continued attacking Anwar."
"We suspect Aziz Samsuddin had promised to marry her so she was doing
this for him. But later Aziz did not marry her after all."
"It's quite a shame actually. The family is very nice. It's just Dr
Ristina that's the perennial problem."
"But she's gone now so the family has been spared the agony of her
antics. Maybe that's God's way of saving the family from further agony."
