Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
From my testing since my last email it does fix the lobby, but servers still do drop off the lobby system after usage, but only sometimes ( a restart fixes this), it clearly fixes groups, I have not tested if it fixes direct IP connection, but I suspect it would. I only discovered it by trial and error and can see no logical reason why sv_region would do this, but hey it works lol. In VS mode, it seems that the server crashes 50% of the time when someone is incapped, especially by a witch. You can also use 27001+## for the same thing. Doesn't make a difference in your case, but if your ports are not starting at a number which ends in 01 then the +## syntax is handy. Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
The VPK files need to be downloaded out of game. When you join a lobby that is for an add-on, it prompts you with a link that the mapmaker provided when packaging the vpk. It's too bad you can't download it from the server, but it makes sense because you wouldn't be there for the start of the game. Also, it's really frustrating for mapmakers to have to provide a URL before it's packaged, since you don't always know what the URL will be. i.e. when you use a host like filefront. Its been a while in a game were we didn't survive most of the time. maybe its new, but so far I think it needs some massive adjustment Kevin Jason Ruymen wrote: A required update for Left 4 Dead has been released. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive the update. The specific changes include: Game and client changes: - Introduced fatigue to the melee attack in versus mode. You will see a HUD display when your melee swing is cooling down - Boomer vomit will now pass through common infected - Addressed some surround sound detection issues - Fixed a rare crash when exiting Left 4 Dead on Windows Vista - Fixed a case where the complete all expert campaigns achievement was not being rewarded Dedicated server changes: - Corrected an issue where Windows based dedicated were sending spurious shutdown notifications to the master causing - them to delist temporarily - Fixed dedicated servers not resetting the versus team swap correctly--you could join a dedicated server that had a - previous game that was swapped and arrive on the other team than what was selected in the lobby - Renamed the tags for sv_search_key to use key: in the server tags instead of sv_search_key. This should help with issues of the 63 character limit of server tags - Fixed an occasional server crash related to voting Jason ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
This bug has been in the game since release? It doesn't happen all the time but when I see it happen, it's usually because of a hunter pouncing the survivors as the lift is going up, some survivors are pushed away on the side of the ladder and get stuck in it. -- Ravnox Quoting James Gurney ja...@globalmegacorp.org: Saw a new bug tonight. 2 of us fell through the scissor lift (the one you turn on which calls a horde) on Mercy and got stuck inside it. Yeah, that could be what happened. Weird that none of us had seen it before, but I'll take your word for it that it's not new. Ravnox wrote: This bug has been in the game since release? Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
Same here: 8 L4D servers, no one respond any more to A2S_INFO queries. I don't have sv_password on my server.cfg / serverXX.cfg The servers show up in HLSW, but HLSW doesn't report they're running metamod/sourcemod. And my PHP scripts querying the servers from my website homepage does not show the L4D server any more. Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
Yes, I can confirm that. I can see my L4D servers using HLSW 1.3.1. A bit scary is that protocol is reported as 242. Yesterday it was 38. :-) Bu I think it’s only because console doesn’t report the game protocol at all. And yes, metamod isn’t detected anymore. - Original Message - From: Coldorak coldorak@gmail.com To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Thursday, March 12, 2009 8:36 AM Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available Same here: 8 L4D servers, no one respond any more to A2S_INFO queries. It's something with your PHP script. My scripts can query updated servers without any problems. Same here: 8 L4D servers, no one respond any more to A2S_INFO queries. Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead Update Available
It's strange as they worked before the update, and still work for my TF2 servers Can I see your script source?
