[iagi-net-l] Buku Geology of Indonesia (was : Re: [iagi-net-l] Bandung (was cereme))
Punten Abah, teu aya deui soalna, hiji-hijina. Benar Abah, penerbitannya dibiayai oleh Dewan Riset Nasional (DRN) dan dicetak oleh PT Kilat Madju Bandung. Waktu ngobrol2 dengan Pak Prof. Adjat Sudradjat Maret lalu di Bandung, kenapa kita tak bisa membuat buku seperti yang ditulis van Bemmelen (1949) itu, karena katanya dulu van Bemmelen menulisnya sendirian berdasarkan ratusan laporan/paper geologi atau pekerjaannya sendiri di Indonesia. Sekarang, sesudah banyak pakar geologi kita miliki, malah gak jadi-jadi (Sebenarnya Pak Adjat tengah berbicara suatu kontroversi, he2...). Seingat saya dulu (th. 1990an) IAGI pernah punya program pembaruan buku Geology of Indonesia macam yang ditulis van Bemmelen itu, ditulis buku baru yang melibatkan banyak pihak dengan data dan konsep2 baru yang tentu saja jauh lebih banyak. Kalau tak salah, mau dikoordinasi oleh Pak Bona Situmorang. Tetapi kemudian tak terdengar lagi sampai sekarang dan tak lama setelah rencana itu pun Pak Bona mulai sibuk di masalah Timor Gap. Bagus ada Herman Darman dan Hasan Sidi yang berinisiatif mengumpulkan beberapa orang untuk menulis sama2 An Outline of the Geology of Indonesia yang lalu disunting mereka dan diterbitkan IAGI tahun 2000. Herman pernah bercerita, edisi per pulau mau ditulis, tetapi kelihatannya kandas di tengah jalan karena kesulitan mencari kontributor dan mungkin juga pasarnya. Dan, suatu hal yang patut diacungi jempol, Pertamina BPPKA tahun 1996 mengumpulkan, mengkoordinasi ahli2 dari oil companies dan technical advisors dari para senior (a.l. Pak Koesoemadinata dan Pak Sukendar Asikin) untuk menulis sama2 buku Petroleum Geology of Indonesia yang lalu menjadi 15 volume buku2 dengan cover biru itu. Memang belum semua cekungan dibahas. Penulis tunggal geologi Indonesia berakhir di Charles Hutchison (1989) yang menerbitkan buku text Geological Evolution of SE Asia (368 hal). Menulis buku yang semacam van Bemmelen buat adalah pekerjaan raksasa, monumental, tetapi bukan sesuatu yang sama sekali mustahil. salam, awang --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Aduuuh , teganya den Awang ! Ngomong ngomong mengenai buku Gelogi - nya Prof Katili , bisanya terbit (kalau tidak salah) diponsori oleh Departemen Riset Nasional (kalau sekarang Men Ristek). Dan sampai saat ini Geology of Indonesia maupun text book Geologi dalam bhs Indonesia belum muncul edisi baru - nya. Bang Djamaluddin apa Anda belum tergerak untuk memprovokasi bapak Menter untuk membantu ? Yangh mau kerja pasti banyak . Mumpung para senior masih ada Prof Katili , Prof Kusumadinata , Prof Ru- bini dsb dari the oldiest, the medium masih ada TO Simanjuntak , Hardi Prasetyo, Emmy Suparka,H Pangabean dari the young Generation ada Awang Satyana, Benny Sapie , Rovicky, Herman Darman, Andang Bachtiar dsb Pokoke kalau ada dana pasti itu dua buku bisa diperbaharui dengan konsep yang up to date.
