Been using it for a year for that very task and it has never missed an
email address. We are adding and deleting addresses throughout the day
and it has been running once an hour without fail and without issue.

We've been using it for about a year. Have yet to see any errors.

Thanks for responding, but I've got enough endorsements of its
excellence, including my own, many times. Of all the stuff I do to
set up an IMGate advanced, imailusers.exe has always been fire and
forget solid.

But my client has a problem with it and am looking for anybody else
who has had imailusers.exe screw up.

The only issue I've seen hasn't been with imailusers.exe, but with the
processing of the list once on the imgates. If one email address is deleted
and one is added between sync, a net result of no change occurs. The
solution has been to add a temporary account to make it an odd number of
changes, sync, then remove the temp account.

btw, in very high volume servers with very big lists of users that
can take many seconds to postmap, postmapping the production
to_recipients_known.map file puts the .map.db file into a state where
a postfix query will apparnently fail a known user as unknown, and
550- reject the msg.

The only way to avoid is to stop postfix. Here's the section of my
script where I update the postfix .map file:

$IMPPATH is the import path where the mailserver ftp's the file of users.

#postmap the file in a work directory
/usr/sbin/postmap $IMPPATH/to_relay_recipients.map

/usr/sbin/postfix stop

#copy the .map and .map.db into production directory

cp $IMPPATH/to_relay_recipients.map/etc/postfix/to_relay_recipients.map
cp $IMPPATH/to_relay_recipients.map.db /etc/postfix/to_relay_recipients.map.db

/usr/sbin/postfix start

exit 0

No problems at all Len, I've been using the utility for more than 2.5 years
exporting all my users, more than 13000 in around 150 domains. All of them
are exported, I've checked this several times just to be safe.

Yep, Been there, Done that. I had this issue a while back and it related to
how the users we stored for each domain (i.e. IMail vs LDAP). When all
domains were using the same method there was no issue. However when the
intern though he had a better way to do it, we had real problems.
