[IslamCity] MIRACLE OF THE HOLY QURAN

2005-02-11 Thread 4ever_in_islam

The expansion of the universe

In the Qur’an, which was revealed 14 centuries ago at a time when the science of astronomy was still primitive, the expansion of the universe was described like this:
( And it is We who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.) (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 47)
The word “heaven”, as stated in this verse, is used in various places in the Qur’an with the meaning of space and universe. Here again, the word is used with this meaning. In other words, in the Qur’an, it is communicated that the universe “expands”.
And this is the very conclusion that science has reached today.
Until the dawn of the 20th century, the only view prevailing in the world of science was that “the universe has a constant nature and it has existed since infinite time”. The research, observations, and calculations carried out by means of modern technology, however, revealed that the universe in fact had a beginning and that it constantly expands.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian physicist Alexander Friedmann and the Belgian cosmologist Georges Lemaitre theoretically calculated that the universe is in constant motion and that it is expanding.
This fact was proved also by observational data in 1929. While observing the sky with a telescope, Edwin Hubble, the American astronomer, discovered that the stars and galaxies were constantly moving away from each other. A universe where everything constantly moves away from each other implied a constantly expanding universe. The observations carried out in the following years verified that the universe constantly expands. This fact was explained in the Qur’an when it was yet unknown by anyone. This is because the Qur’an is the word of God, the Creator, and the Ruler of the entire universe.

From the moment of the big bang, the universe has been constantly expanding at a great speed. Scientists compare the expanding universe to the surface of a balloon that is inflated.

[IslamCity] DAHR JAMAIL: SHOCKING STORIES FROM FALLUJAH

2005-02-11 Thread Assalamu Aleikum

Stories from Fallujah
Dahr Jamail
February 08, 2005
http://dahrjamailiraq.com/weblog/archives/dispatches/000196.php

These are the stories that will continue to emerge
from the rubble of Fallujah for years. No, for
generations…

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the doctor sits
with me in a hotel room in Amman, where he is now a
refugee. He’d spoken about what he saw in Fallujah in
the UK, and now is under threat by the US military if
he returns to Iraq.

“I started speaking about what happened in Fallujah
during both sieges in order to raise awareness, and
the Americans raided my house three times,” he says,
talking so fast I can barely keep up. He is driven to
tell what he’s witnessed, and as a doctor working
inside Fallujah, he has video and photographic proof
of all that he tells me.

“I entered Fallujah with a British medical and
humanitarian convoy at the end of December, and stayed
until the end of January,” he explains, “But I was in
Fallujah before that to work with people and see what
their needs were, so I was in there since the
beginning of December.”

When I ask him to explain what he saw when he first
entered Fallujah in December he says it was like a
tsunami struck the city.

“Fallujah is surrounded by refugee camps where people
are living in tents and old cars,” he explains, “It
reminded me of Palestinian refugees. I saw children
coughing because of the cold, and there are no
medicines. Most everyone left their houses with
nothing, and no money, so how can they live depending
only on humanitarian aid?”

The doctors says that in one refugee camp in the
northern area of Fallujah there were 1,200 students
living in seven tents.

“The disaster caused by this siege is so much worse
than the first one, which I witnessed first hand,” he
says, and then tells me he’ll use one story as an
example.

“One story is of a young girl who is 16 years old,” he
says of one of the testimonies he video taped
recently, “She stayed for three days with the bodies
of her family who were killed in their home. When the
soldiers entered she was in her home with her father,
mother, 12 year-old brother and two sisters. She
watched the soldiers enter and shoot her mother and
father directly, without saying anything.”

The girl managed to hide behind the refrigerator with
her brother and witnessed the war crimes first-hand.

“They beat her two sisters, then shot them in the
head,” he said. After this her brother was enraged and
ran at the soldiers while shouting at them, so they
shot him dead.

“She continued hiding after the soldiers left and
stayed with her sisters because they were bleeding,
but still alive. She was too afraid to call for help
because she feared the soldiers would come back and
kill her as well. She stayed for three days, with no
water and no food. Eventually one of the American
snipers saw her and took her to the hospital,” he
added before reminding me again that he had all of her
testimony documented on film.

He briefly told me of another story he documented of a
mother who was in her home during the siege. “On the
fifth day of the siege her home was bombed, and the
roof fell on her son, cutting his legs off,” he says
while using his hands to make cutting motions on his
legs, “For hours she couldn’t go outside because they
announced that anyone going in the street would be
shot. So all she could do was wrap his legs and watch
him die before her eyes.”

He pauses for a few deep breaths, then continues, “All
I can say is that Fallujah is like it was struck by a
tsunami. There weren’t many families in there after
the siege, but they had absolutely nothing. The
suffering was beyond what you can imagine. When the
Americans finally let us in people were fighting just
for a blanket.”

“One of my colleagues, Dr. Saleh Alsawi, he was
speaking so angrily about them. He was in the main
hospital when they raided it at the beginning of the
seige. They entered the theater room when they were
working on a patient…he was there because he’s an
anesthesiologist. They entered with their boots on,
beat the doctors and took them out, leaving the
patient on the table to die.”

This story has already been reported in the Arab
media.

The doctor tells me of the bombing of the Hay Nazal
clinic during the first week of the siege.

“This contained all the foreign aid and medical
instruments we had. All the US military commanders
knew this, because we told them about it so they
wouldn’t bomb it. But this was one of the clinics
bombed, and in the first week of the siege they bombed
it two times.”

He then adds, “Of course they targeted all our
ambulances and doctors. Everyone knows this.”

The doctor tells me he and some other doctors are
trying to sue the US military for the following
incident, for which he has the testimonial evidence on
tape.

It is a story I was told by several refugees in
Baghdad as well…at the end of last November while the
siege was still in progress.

“During the second week of the siege

The Islamic Republic of Iraq

by Juan Cole

published by Informed Comment

The Islamic Republic of Iraq

The
Republican Party spin machine was bouncing around the airwaves like an
overloaded washing machine on Sunday attempting to obscure from the American
public that they had by their actions managed to install a Shiite religious ruling
class in Iraq.
The New York Times even lead with a headline, U.S.
Officials Say a Theocratic Iraq
Is Unlikely. This headline is probably wrong, but in any case it begs the
question of what a theocracy is.

If it means a clerically-ruled state, then I agree with Vice President Dick
Cheney that a) you have to look at what Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani wants, and
b) that Sistani does not want clerics to rule the country as in Iran. But the
main goal of political Islam in the past few decades hasn't been clerical rule.
It has been the replacement of civil law with shariah or Islamic canon law.
This was done by the non-clerical government of Sudan,
e.g. And that is where Iraq
is headed. The only question is how wideranging the substitution will be. Will
it just be personal status law (marriage, divorce, inheritance, alimony, etc.),
or will it be in commercial law and other spheres of society?

Even as Cheney was pooh-poohing the notion of Iraqi theocracy, Sistani's close
colleague Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad said, We warn
officials against a separation of the state and religion. Then Sistani's
spokesman came out and said that the Grand Ayatollah Sistani wants the
source of legislation to be Islam.

A lot of Americans believe whatever Cheney says, though I cannot for the life
of me understand why, since he lies to them relentlessly. He is the one who
tried to link Saddam and al-Qaeda operationally. He even once said he knew
exactly where Iraqi weapons of mass destruction were. Most people will only
remember that Cheney said there wouldn't be an Iraqi theocracy, but won't
bother to actually read the newspapers on Monday to see the news I'm reporting
below.

Although George Orwell/ Eric Blair wrote 1984 as an anarcho-syndicalist
socialist critique of Stalinism, it is becoming increasingly clear that it was
also prophetic about the direction of Late Capitalist societies characterized
by corporate media consolidation. In such a society, Cheney can substitute
himself for Sistani and speak for Sistani, erasing the real Sistani just as the
Republican pundits have erased the real Iraq. Ignorance is
strength.

Another little-noticed development is how well followers of Muqtada al-Sadr are
doing in some provincial elections. They seem likely to dominate Maysan Province
in the south and to have a strong influence in several others. The Sadrists are
all about puritanism and implementing Islamic law. A senior British official
conceded, We will have to live with it.

At the national level, the Shiite religious parties have begun making it clear
that implementing Islamic law is among their highest priorities.

The four grand ayatollahs in Najaf are jointly called the Source
(al-marja`iyyah), i.e. the source of authority that must be blindly obeyed (taqlid)
on religious issues. Shaikh Ibrahim Ibrahimi, a representative of Grand
Ayatollah Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad, issued a suprise communique, according to AFP. Al-Fayyad is originally from Afghanistan, but
came to Najaf at the age of ten many decades ago.

I was originally going to quote the AFP
translation of the statement, but found it wrong in a couple of places and have
made my own:

All the clerics and the sources of authority, and most of the Muslim
Iraqi people, emphatically request the state and the national parliament that
Islam be, in the permanent Iraqi constitution, the sole source of legislation
in Iraq, and that any article or law be struck from the permanent constitution
if it contravenes Islam . . . [this matter] is non-negotiable . . . [we warn
against] changing the face of Iraq or separating religion and state, for
therein lie dangers that will bring unfortunate results, which is rejected by
all the clerics and high religious authorities . . . [We warn against] the
dangers of undertaking derisory actions that hurt the feelings of Muslims, such
as conscripting Muslim girls and publishing their pictures with foreign
military trainers in magazines and daily newspapers . . . That has a negative
influence on the government, which stands, today, in the most urgent need of
popular support.

The four grand ayatollahs of Najaf may have internal disagreements, but it is
unlikely that al-Fayyad had this statement issued without getting a consensus
of the other three first.

AFP put in parenthetically:
' A source close to Sistani announced soon after the release of the statement
that the spiritual leader backed the demand. The marja has priorities
concerning the formation of the government and the constitution. It wants the
source of legislation to

The TV is a Shaytaan
Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee
(Transcribed from the audio site.)

Any Muslim with any Iman within them, and with their Aqeedah and their
Manhaj try to understand that the TV is a Shatian. That the TV is behind all
evils. TV is behind the destruction of families. The reason behind this talk
is to remind the Muslim Brothers and sisters so they can follow the reminder
when it comes to them. This is not to make them apply this to their
intellect and if they do so, they will say that it doesn't apply to them.. I
am aware of the TV, Like many people say they have a TV only for the CNN.
Some brothers or the sisters they claim that they have the TV only for the
News. Some brothers they say have the TV only for the Travel Show. Somebody
may say what does that Travel Show have to do with the Muslim, or the
Salafee? Look how twisted .. sometimes we may be and how Shaitan puts us to
sleep. So we find excuses against ourselves. That brother he may say: Yeah,
I am watching the Travel Show. What does that have to do with your life?
From a channel to another, SubhanaAllah they may be watching Bay Watch,
Wrestling, Ophrah . then what? They are not only the ones watching, not
adults only, but the kids are also watching.

When the command of Allah and His messenger came to you, u must apply it. In
Surah Ahzab : 36
It is not befitting for any believing men or women that when Allah and His
Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) decreed upon a matter that they will
have a choice in regard to the decision and whoever disobeys Allah and His
Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) indeed he is in a clear mistaken
error.

There are a lot of evils he is going to mention about the TV. One of the
evils is enough to make TV haram, not the 20. The brother has selected 20
and the 20 are the many many evils of the TV. But his is only a selection.
One of the reasons I mention is enough for any one who has Iman who has
understood the ayah, and he still has the TV, he will put the TV in the
trash. If you look at the arrows on the remote, they are faded, because the
thumbs have been on it.

Some people after reading or hearing these evils may seem, nothing is
applicable on me. Nothing is applicable on you? 20 major destructive things,
that destroys the marriages, destroy the education, destroys the Dawah,
destroys the

TRANSFORMING MY FOLLOWERS INTO MONKEYS PIGS
Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (SalAllaho ALaihi Wasallam) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."
