[IslamCity] Modern Science finds God

2005-03-17 Thread FAITH

Modern Science finds God
(Perhaps the most important and astounding scientific discovery in human history.)

There was a time when science seemed to be the enemy of religious belief – that time is no more! Modern physics and cosmology (science of the origin and development of the universe) now provide firm objective evidence of the existence of God, confirm the primary attributes of God, and show how God created the physical existence out of ‘nothingness’. This knowledge comes from a critical analysis of the ‘Big Bang’ theory, Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, and work being done in quantum physics. The concepts behind this esoteric scientific knowledge can now be presented in such a way as to be understood by any person with a modern education.

1. We now know according to the most widely accepted theories of cosmology that the physical universe we see today was created out of nothingness (meaning – no time, no space, and no matter).
2. We also know that the beginning of the creation of the universe took place by light coming into existence at a singularity (a point with no dimension).
3. We know that the matter of the physical universe was brought into being by photons (little packages of light energy) which, when colliding with each other, formed the virtually infinite number of protons, neutrons and electrons, which in various combinations make up everything in our physical world.
4. In essence we can now accurately say that all the matter of the physical universe, ourselves included, is actually light slowed down.
5. We know that the space which contains our physical universe is expanding. This is a concept so alien to human thought that until Albert Einstein developed his General Theory of Relativity early in the 20th century it had never occurred to any of the world’s great minds, but was stated in the Qur’an over 1400 years ago when Allah told us, “I am expanding the universe with my power”. Even Einstein was so astounded by his discovery that he falsified his data to show a universe that was not expanding, because he well understood that an expanding universe implies there was
somewhere in the distant past a moment of creation for the universe.
6. Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity (which he actually called his Absolutism Theorem because he realized he had found the one thing in a relative universe that was absolute) is about the special qualities of light.
7. The Special Theory of Relativity allows us our first objective glimpse into that which exists beyond the material world.
8. We could have found anything once we got our first glimpse beyond the material world, but what we did find is indeed remarkable. We find Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity showing us that the non-material existence beyond the physical world consists only of absolutes, and some of those absolutes are remarkably similar to what everyone’s religion has considered to be among the primary attributes of God.
9. Example One: As the speed of light (300,000km per second) is approached then time slows, and at the speed of light time does not pass. This means for a photon of light which travels at exactly the speed of light, time does not pass. Therefore the photon is outside of time, and ETERNAL.
10. Example Two: Since no time passes for a photon of light, and that photon can be observed at different places in space, therefore that photon of light is simultaneously in those different places (and many other places) at the same time, and therefore OMNIPRESENT.
11. Example Three: Since every bit of matter in the physical universe is created by the energy of light, and that light energy constantly sustains and directs the activity of every bit of matter in the physical existence, then there is no power other than the power of light, light energy is all the power that exists, and therefore OMNIPOTENT.
12. Example Four: Since all knowledge that exists, that ever existed, or will exist, is stored by light energy and transmitted through light energy then there is no knowledge beyond that intrinsic to light, and therefore OMNISCIENT.
13. Furthermore, light does not actually exist within the physical existence although we can somehow perceive it. As you approach the speed of light one of the three dimensions (length, height, or width), the dimension in line with the direction of motion, becomes progressively less, and at the speed of light that dimension becomes zero. To determine volume we multiply height times width times length, but if any one of those three dimensions is zero then the volume is zero, and that thing therefore does not exist in the material universe. Light occupies no volume
of space and therefore has no existence in the physical universe.
14. And, while everything in the physical universe has some mass greater than zero, which is a necessary characteristic for existence in the material world, light has no mass at all. As you approach the speed of light mass increases, at the speed of light mass

[IslamCity] Grand Father of Prophet Mohammad (Abdul Muttalib)

2005-03-17 Thread Syeda Muneeba Masood

The Millennium Biography of Prophet Muhammad (SallAllaho Alaihi Wasallam)http://groups.msn.com/IslamisUniversal
Note:Before reading the article, the reader should know that Hazrat AbdulMuttalib was the grand father of Prophet Mohammad (SallAllaho Alaihi Wasallam). The previous series of this article can be read at * Other Prophets Prophet MohammadHASHIM AND THE PILGRIMSBefore the pilgrimage each year, Hashim would invite the leaders of the tribes to attend a meeting in the House of Assembly to
discuss the preparations for the pilgrimage. He would remind them that they had been blessed by being the neighbors of the House of Allah, and that the pilgrims were visitors to His House. He told them that because the pilgrims were the guests of Allah they had more rights upon their generosity than ordinary guests and after having drawn their attention to this right he would ask them to give their pledged contribution. Like his grandfather, he told them that if his own wealth had been sufficient, he would have accommodated the expense himself and not asked them for their contribution to the fund. All complied with Hashim's request and the contribution pledge was collected.
HASHIM ESTABLISHES CARAVAN ROUTES
The life of a caravaner was perilous, but for many it brought prosperity. A caravaner could expect to face many hazards other than the extreme heat of the desert followed by the intense cold of the night during certain times of the year. But, perhaps the greatest hazard of all was the fear of being attacked by marauding tribes. All too often caravans were attacked resulting in the loss of both life and merchandise. Hashim knew well the burden of the caravaner so he decided to visit with the tribal chieftains along the trade routes traveled by the Quraish and use his powers of friendly persuasion and fairness to secure a safe passage. One by one the tribes agreed and soon the trade routes became less hazardous. Hashim's sense of fairness and compassion toward his fellow beings was demonstrated yet again during a year in which there was extreme drought followed by famine. Upon hearing of a neighboring tribe's suffering he
arranged for a supply of food and water to be distributed among the stricken tribe. This upright act, and others like it, led to the strengthening of bonds between the Quraish and other tribes. Hashim's just character and ability to organize were known not only by his fellow Arabs but to the great powers of the day, namely the Emperor of Rome and the King of Abyssinia, ruler of Yemen. It was through their admiration of Hashim that he succeeded to negotiate peaceful, lasting treaties, which in turn exempted the Quraish from the payment of previously enforced trading taxes. Hashim's popularity was such that whenever Quraish traders reach Angoria -- now Ankara, the Emperor himself would go out to welcome them and show great hospitality and inquire about Hashim. The two great trade routes were now secure, so during the winter when the heat of the desert had died down, caravans would set off on their journey to Yemen, then as summer advanced caravans would set off in the opposite
direction on their long trail to the north-west reaching as far away as Palestine or Syria which was at that time part of the Roman Empire.
HASHIM MEETS SALMA, DAUGHTER OF AMR
On the route northwards caravans would make their way to a desert oasis called Yathrib -- now called Medina -- to trade and replenish supplies before setting off again on their long trip. The inhabitants of Yathrib were both Arab and Jew. At first, the Arabs were known as the children of Kaylah but as time passed they had divided into two tribes, the tribes of Aws and the tribe of Khazraj, both of whom were the sons of Kaylah. In those days its was common for a man to have many wives, some as many as forty. Hashim was already married when he met, in Yathrib, a noble, influential lady named Salma, the daughter of Amr from the tribe of Najjar, a branch of Khazraj. Hashim proposed to her and she accepted on condition that she remained in control of her own affairs and that when she gave birth to a son, the boy would remain with her in Yathrib until he reached the age of puberty. Hashim accepted her conditions and the two were
married. It was a happy, successful arrangement and Hashim made frequent trips to Yathrib to stay with Salma. On several occasions Hashim continued on from Yathrib to Syria, however, on one such journey he was taken ill in the city of Gaza, Palestine. His illness proved to be serious and he did not recover. Salma was pregnant and later gave birth to a son whom she named Shayba. As Shayba grew up he loved to listen to the heart warming stories about his generous father, and it was through the example of his father’s noble sense of fairness and peaceful character that Shayba modeled his own life.
THE BROTHERS OF HASHIM
Hashim had two blood brothers named Abdu Shams and Muttalib, and a half-brother named Nawfal. Both Abdu

  Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain:
  UKs
New Anti-Terror Legislation Exposes The Weakness Of Western Ideology

London, UK, March 12 - New draconian anti-terror
  legislation in the UK
that abandons principles that are the cornerstone of western societies once
again exposes the deficiencies in the ideology of western governments.
  The new
legislation allows for the house arrest of suspects without
trial, the use of dubious intelligence, probably obtained under
torture, the withholding of evidence from suspects, the prevention of a
suspect from defending himself and an end to the presumption of innocence.
  Commenting
on the new legislation, Dr Imran Waheed, the Representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir
  Britain,
said, Western governments claim the moral high ground in regards to
human rights and the rule of law and seek to export their ideology to the
Muslim world, yet abandon their fundamental principles at the first hurdle.
They abandoned their principles in Guantanamo,
Belmarsh, Bagram and Abu Ghraib - what credibility do western governments and
their ideology have left? None whatsoever.
  It
is high time that the word terrorism is stripped of its western meaning of
violence against western interests and given its wider linguistic meaning of
coercion through terror; Muslims rightfully feel that they have far greater
experience of being the victims rather than the perpetrators of terror, yet
such legislation will undoubtedly target Muslims.
  Notes
  to Editors:
  Between
11 September 2001 and 31 December 2004, there were 701 arrests in the UK under the
Terrorism Act. Only 17 people have been convicted of offences under the Act.
  Hizb
ut-Tahrir is an independent Islamic political party that works throughout the
Islamic world to resume the Islamic way of life by re-establishing the
Islamic Khilafah [Caliphate]. The party adheres to Islamic law in all aspects
of its work and considers violence or armed struggle against the regime, as a
method to re-establish the Islamic State, to be forbidden by Islamic law. In
the Western world, the party seeks to explain the Islamic ideology to Muslims,
to create a dialogue with Western thinkers and to present a positive image of
  Islam to Western society.

There are certain Mustahab {recommended acts} rules to be observed while taking
a meal; they are as follows:

 Washing both the hands before
 taking a meal.
 After taking a meal, one
should wash one's hands, and dry them with a dry cloth.
 The host should begin eating

to take a meal, the host should wash his own hands first, and thereafter,
the person sitting on his right should do so.
Then the other guests should follow him, till it is the turn of the person
sitting on the left side of the host. After finishing the meal, the person
sitting on the left side of the host should wash his hands first, and
thereafter other persons should follow him till it is the turn of the
 host.
 One should say Bismillah
before starting to eat, and if there are several dishes, it is Mustahab to
say Bismillah before partaking of each of the dishes.
 One should eat with one's
 right hand.
One should eat using three or
more fingers and should not eat with two fingers only.
 If several persons are sitting
together for their meals, everyone of them should partake of the food
 placed in front of him.
One should take small bits of
 food.
 One should prolong the duration

 One should chew the food
 thoroughly.
 After taking one's meal one

An imam for our times
Muslim leader understands need for balance in post-9/11 world

By BILL TAMMEUS The Kansas City Star
“The Muslim is to be aware of the presence of God in everything.” N. Bilal Muhammed
Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, American Muslims have experienced reactions ranging from hate to friendliness.
But these Muslims are not a monolithic group. Many are immigrants from the Middle East and other parts of the world, but many are African-American converts whose families have been in this country for hundreds of years.
The Al-Inshirah Islamic Center at 3664 Troost is a mosque that attracts primarily such converts. Its leader, or imam, is N. Bilal Muhammed, who converted to Islam about 25 years ago and has been the mosque's imam for 14 years. He's also employed full time as a firefighter for Olathe.
Many African-American Muslims were attached to the Nation of Islam, a nontraditional sect founded by Elijah Muhammad but now run by Louis Farrakhan. But most Nation of Islam followers eventually embraced orthodox Sunni Islam under the guidance of Muhammad's son, W.D. Muhammad.
When Bilal Muhammed converted to Islam, it was to the traditional form of the faith, not to the Nation of Islam. He gave up his birth name, which he prefers not to make public. Bilal was the name of one of the Prophet Muhammad's companions whose duty was to call people to prayer.
To understand how such an Islamic leader sees the post-9/11 world, The Kansas City Star interviewed Muhammed. His responses have been edited for length and clarity.
Q. To what do you attribute the growth of what many people call militant or extremist Islam?
A. I think extremism has grown from lack of understanding and education among the Muslims, which has sometimes led to tyrants being over the Muslim public and pressuring the Muslim public. Also some of the Muslim public will see the West as contributing to support of tyrants. Palestine-Israel is something that breeds extremism, too.
Is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict a big issue for your people here?
It's not a major issue. Our hope is that both of those people can live there in peace. … When there are extreme acts that happen from both sides, we will sometimes address the need for Muslims to be balanced. After 9/11, a lot of our sermons were about having the balance and following the example of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, who forbid killing innocents and noncombatants.
The No. 1 solution for Muslims to come out of their Third World state of extremism is just to follow the excellence of the prophet. …
One source of religious tension is a belief that “we hold all the truth and others are going to hell.” Do you believe non-Muslims are in such eternal danger?
No, not at all. First, there's a verse in the Qur'an that says … all who believe in God will have their reward with God. There are sayings of the Prophet Muhammad that there will be large numbers of followers of the different prophets. So how Muslims could think that God wouldn't allow any other people in paradise, I don't know. Now some people who are extreme will say, “Well, that was Christians before the Qur'an was revealed.” But I don't buy that. I think most of us don't buy that.
So if I, as a Christian, want to ensure that I get into heaven, would you say I'm not helping myself by converting to Islam?
I would say you don't have to convert to Islam.
But you'd like me to?
I'd say if you wanted to and thought it was best for you to convert to Islam, then do it. But you don't have to convert to Islam to earn paradise. I would say that's a judgment for Allah, not for Bilal.
What's your experience of how American Muslims, who come from various places, get along?
My experience is that there is deep love for the believers. Now there are some people who haven't evolved, who may bring baggage with them from all communities, including the African-American community. But … African-American Muslims generally have their specific agenda. Most of our mosques are located in urban areas, and we want to be a part of helping develop the urban areas.
They (immigrant Muslims) have their agenda, too. They've come from a whole different culture, and I'm sure they have their own set of difficulties and problems they have to work with…
What does sharia (Islamic law) mean to you, and how does it fit into life in a country with a secular government that protects freedom of worship?
Sharia means to me that we are not disobedient to the commands of Allah in the Qur'an, first of all, and that we are not disobedient to what the prophet has left us. Can we carry out and impose penalties for people who violate that? No, we can't

Assalamu Alaikum

Both are criminals on their own merit. Both are curse for human society.
Both are bad stigma on the forehead ofthe communitywhere they live
and, as such,both aredoomed.

The problem with the western societies is that of moral values that have
been overpowered by material benefits. Prostitution falls in the same category.
That is why people here don't think it as a curse but as an economic deal. Lenin
once said that if you are given a choice between a trouser and a moral
principle: choose the trouser andthrow awaythe moral principle.

You can judge the morality of themodern liberalcutter on that
criterion.

 Dear Moderator, Brothers and Sisters:

Assalamu alaikom. The reason why I posted this article to our forum
is that, I just wanted your honest opinions for this
subject `prostitution'. This is one of the issues that caused hate.
So, I'm asking you How we could help these people involved in this
craft? Should we condemn and treat them like criminals? Let `s learn
 together.

 Prostitution: What's Wrong?

Using one's body, honor and talents for the people involved in this
profession prostitution, for money and sexual fulfillment is a living
forte extending through the changing civilization.

But in this craft, there are young children involved, ages between 12
and 18. They are the product of broken families. Some of them are
victims of drug addiction, sexual and physical abuse including
 depressed teenagers.

The macho dancers and escort girls are engaged with this industry,
with motives to support their schooling and their less fortunate
families. Some are lucky and have finished with their studies.

Should we condemn these people involved in this profession and treat
 them like criminals?

In the ancient world, there are several classes of harlots, whore and
prostitutes. One type was the temple prostitute, who performed sexual
acts at a heathen temple. Both male and female cult prostitutes
presided at these temples. Whenever, Judah was ruled by a righteous
king, this king sought to remove the temple prostitutes from the land.

A second class of prostitutes consisted of those who owned bars or
inns and had sexual relations with the patrons who desired their
services. Rahab of Jericho was such a woman. God had mercy on her,
and she was delivered and transformed. Her name is included in the
 genealogy of the Messiah.

Jerusalem at that time was pictured as playing the part of a harlot.
But instead of being paid for her services, she paid others! Those
who worshiped idols were also referred to in a symbolic way as
 harlots.

By history, prostitution or similar matters are social phenomenon.
They cannot be prevented by moral issue pressure alone. Most of them
are driven by economic constrained. They are better than a lazy man.
For so very long years, no matter how the church has condemned, still
prostitution exist. The state no matter how they punished this
 matter, yet it still exist.

We should not condemn these people involved. Instead, let us help
them by way of proper education and providing them economic
opportunities and educate them as to what is the stand of the living
 God regarding this matter.

I'd rather fraternize with these people whose reasons are to make a
living in this dog-eat-dog-world than with those in church, who
disguise themselves in veils of holiness when in truth and in fact
they do the worst things, such as, steal in the disguise of religion.
I'd rather be with prostitutes than tolerate hypocrisy as if they
 live modest lives.

I'm not trying to justify prostitution because it is still unlawful
but then we should not be quick to judge these people for their
respective reasons, they may have to be engaged in this oldest
profession but we should not treat them like criminals. These
prostitutes, whore and harlots are one of those who are sick that
need doctors and not condemnation, for it not bring any good. But
they must wake-up now before getting unhealthy condition.

There are cases that a pimp seeks out a young girl usually a runaway
or loner. He shows off his fancy car, clothes, jewelry, and money
leading her to believe that she too can achieve a life of luxury.

At the first opportunity, he moves her from her hometown to an
unfamiliar place. There he starts the abuse becoming physically and
sexually violent forcing her into unwanted sex. He controls where she
goes, what she does, and whom she can speak to. He takes all of her
money so she is financially dependent on him hoping to prevent her
escaping. She was sexually exploited and being treated as no more
 than apiece of human garbage.

 Why not legalize prostitution?

One benefits of making prostitution legal will allow the act to be
managed instead of ignored. Pimps and organized crime figures, which
regularly treat their workers on subhuman levels, would no longer
control women. Prostitutes would no longer be strong-armed by pimps
or organized crime rings. And there would also be health-safety
 improvements.

[IslamCity] Re: Prostitution: I'll tell you what's wrong

2005-03-17 Thread Fareeda Syed

Assalamu alaikum,

As Muslims, we believe that all guidance comes from Allah through his Book and His Messenger (saw). We take what the religion has given us and leave what it forbade us. We know that prostitution is a grave sin with many downsides that can be noticed even in this life (such as disease, unwanted pregnancies, broken families, mental/physical abuse).

In the interpretation of the meaning of the Qur’an, it is stated:

“This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah;
Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what we have provided for them; And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper.” (Qur’an 2:3-5)

Prostitution is haram based on the following:

1. “The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.” (Qur’an 24:2)

2. “Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah gives them means out of His grace… But force not your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity, in order that ye may make a gain in the goods of this life.” (Qur’an 24:33)

3. “Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils).” (Qur’an 17:32)

It is no excuse to do such things for financial reasons because Allah is the provider and has made men carry the financial responsibility for the family:

1. “…kill not your children on a plea of want; We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law.” (Qur’an 6:151)

2. “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means.” (Qur’an 4:34)

A woman has the right to work and inherit.

1. “And in no wise covet those things in which Allah Hath bestowed His gifts More freely on some of you than on others: To men is allotted what they earn, and to women what they earn: But ask Allah of His bounty. For Allah hath full knowledge of all things.” (Qur’an 4:32)

2. “Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children's (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance….” (Qur’an 4:11)

In Conclusion

Men are given more inheritance since they are financially responsible for the family. If a woman is not being taken care of by her male relatives, she can go to the Imam of her community for help. Of course, the help that she receives through people are due to Allah’s Mercy as He has helped her through those halal sources.

“It is also worth mentioning that there is virtually no blessing in earnings that are purely Haram. A penny of Halal is better than a million dollars earned through Haram. One of the conditions for acceptance of Prayer in Islam is to earn a living through purely Halal sources.” ( http://www.islam-online.net/fatwaapplication/english/display.asp?hFatwaID=82117 )

We cannot legalize something that Islam has made illegal; otherwise we are just as guilty as those who commit these crimes. If we create our own rules, it is as if we are our own Gods and are independent of Allah. We need Allah for all of our needs and we can ask Him directly for any of our wants/desires.

Ma’ Salamah.

“Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning” [Qur'an 39:10] "...And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him" [Qur'an 65:3]

[IslamCity] *-* I need a Break *-*

2005-03-17 Thread ali rizwan

I need a break!

For a couple years I've been blaming it onlack of sleep and too much pressure from my job,but now I found out the real reason:

I'm tired because I'm overworked!

The population of this country is 237 million.

104 million are retired.

That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this there are 29 million employedby the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 peoplewho work for State and City Governmentsand that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.
You and me!

And you are sitting at your computerreading jokes...

Mr.Karim is writing against great sahaba's which should be condemn. it will hurt the feeling of majority of muslims i.e sunnis. Mr. Karim dont publish your aqeedah. {Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}
(Holy Quran-16:125)

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness), and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: I am one of the Muslims.} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels. [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said, Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all.
[Muslim, Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah]
