Grand Mufti

of Saudi Arabia Rebuts Pope's statements
Ash Shaykh Al 'Allaamah 'Abdul 'Azeez Aal Ash Shaykh

In a rebuttal of the pope's statements, the grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, the noble scholar 'Abdul 'Azeez Aal Ash Shaykh stated:

Our religion of Islaam is a forgiving religion, it does not condone
the use of force or terrorism. The Messenger Muhammad, may peace be
upon him, was sent with it to all mankind, a religion that rejects the
use of force over Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Oppression is
forbidden in our legislation, Islaam prohibits oppression. Allaah says
in a Qudsee Hadeeth:

O my servants, indeed I have prohibited oppression upon myself, and I have prohibited it amongst you so do not be oppressive. The Prophet, may peace be upon him, said:

Beware of the oppressed one's prayer, for indeed there is no veil between it and Allaah.

It is for this reason that Allaah has made the punishment of those who cause mischief on earth the most severe. Allaah said:

{The recompense of those who wage
war against Allaah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is
that they be killed or crucified or their hands and feet be cut off
from opposite sides, or that they be exiled from the land. That is
their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the
Hereafter.}

In rebutting the claim that the religion the Prophet came with is 'evil' and is 'spread by the sword' the Shaykh commented:

This is a lie, the Messenger, may peace be upon him was sent as a mercy to mankind, Allaah says:

{We have not sent you except as a mercy to mankind}
Whoever deliberates over the conflicts that took place between past
religions would find that if a religion was victorious over the other,
they would destroy kill and take prisoners from the other. Islaam came
with mercy for all creation through the beauty of the Islaamic
legislation which establishes justice, fairness and advocates the
grounds for security and stability in communities.

He added:
Islaam is ever so distant from terrorism, and it did not spread except
through people's conviction that it is the truth, those who saw the
goodness in Islaam, its justness and organization, and so people
embraced Islaam in large numbers.

In rebutting a statement by the Pope that Islaam defies reason, his eminence stated:

This is incorrect, a lie, Allaah the glorified informed us of the religion of Islaam saying:

{Indeed, therein is a reminder for those who have hearts or give ear while they are heedful.}
Islaam came in accordance to man's natural disposition. Sound
intelligence is in accordance to the correct natural disposition of
mankind and cannot contradict authentic scripture. The Islaamic
legislation came with what the correct natural disposition of mankind
and intelligence affirms, not with anything that contradicts reason.

The Mufti went on to affirm the Islaamic stance towards the previous religions that were revealed to previous Prophets:
It is to believe in all the prophets, to affirm that they are indeed
true prophets who sincerely advised their nations, conveyed Allaah's
messages and established the proofs. The nation of Muhammad is as
Allaah said:

{Thus We have made you a just nation}

On the Day of Resurrection, the prophets will bear witness that they conveyed the message to their nations.

His eminence added: Our
stance is that we believe in all the messengers, however, we believe
that Allaah abrogated all previous legislations with the legislation of
Islaam. Allaah has obligated believing in Muhammad, may peace be upon
him, as well as following him. We believe in Moses, Jesus and all the
other Prophets of Allaah, however we only act upon this legislation [of
Islaam].

GENEVA — A variety of Muslim
organizations in Geneva have join hands in an umbrella
body to streamline efforts to help the minority better
integrate into society and wash away misconceptions
about the Muslim faith.
"The Federation of Islamic
Organizations aims to coordinate and promote activities
of the different Muslim groups in Geneva to serve the
best of the Muslim minority," the nascent body said in
its maiden statement, a copy of which was obtained by
IslamOnline.net.
"It will encourage young Muslims to
better handle issues of concern either with the broader
society or within the minority."
The new all inclusive body will also
seek to appease fears about the ability of Muslims to
integrate into society.
"It will seek to help Muslims strike
the right balance between religious duties and
responsibilities as citizens," the statement added.
The federation groups a host of bodies
in the city, including the Islamic Center in Geneva –
Europe's oldest Islamic center – and the Islamic
Cultural Association of the Islamic World League.
Former chairman of the association
Yehia Baslamah was named to steer the nascent federation
while its executive arm includes a galaxy of prominent
Muslim scholars representing an ethnic mosaic.
Switzerland is home to some 380,000
Muslims, representing a sizable 4.7 percent of the
country’s some eight million people.
Islam is the second religion in the
country after Christianity.
Peaceful Islam
The newly-established body would seek
to promote public awareness about the peaceful tenets of
Islam.
In its first statement, it regretted
Pope Benedict XVI's criticism of the Islamic concept of
Jihad.
"The Pope's remarks smeared Islam and
the whole world culture as the highest representative of
the Catholic Church should not have quoted controversial
medieval text."
Pope Benedict had quoted claims by 14th
century Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus that
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) only
brought evil and inhuman, "such as his command to spread
by the sword the faith he preached."
The pontiff said Sunday, September 18,
that the controversial quotes did not reflect his
personal view about Islam, although he stopped short of
retracting the speech.
"Jihad must be conceived in its true
meaning and not as an equivalent for holy war," the new
Muslim body said.
It called for transparent dialogue
between Islam and Christianity "taking into account the
negative consequences of the pope's words."
Benedict's comments had triggered

I have got
some facts collected with some general queries regarding Islam and
Muslims.
Please have
a look at them !
Most Common
Questions asked by Non-Muslims

Q1.
Why is a man allowed
to have more than one wife in Islam? i.e. why is polygamy allowed in
Islam?
Q2. If a man is allowed
to have more than one wife, then why does Islam prohibit a woman from having
more than one husband?
Q3. Why does Islam
degrade women by keeping them behind the veil?
Q4. How can Islam be
called the religion of peace when it was spread by the
sword?
Q5. Why are most of the
Muslims fundamentalists and terrorists?
Q6. Killing an animal is
a ruthless act. Why then do Muslims consume non-vegetarian
food?
Q7. Why do Muslims
slaughter the animal in a ruthless manner by torturing it and slowly and
painfully killing it?
Q8. Science tell us that
whatever one eats, it has an effect on one’s behaviour. Why then, does Islam
allow Muslims to eat non-vegetarian food, since eating of animals could make
a person violent and ferocious?
Q9. When Islam is
against idol worship why do the Muslims worship, and bow down to the
Kaaba in their
prayer?
Q10. Why are non-Muslims
not allowed in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah?
Q11. Why is the eating
of pork forbidden in Islam?
Q12. Why is the
consumption of alcohol prohibited in Islam?
Q13. Why are two
witnesses who are women, equivalent to only one witness who is a man
?
Q14. Under Islamic law,
why is a woman’s share of the inherited wealth only half that of a
man?
Q16. How can you prove
the existence of hereafter, i.e. life after death?
Q17. When all the Muslim
follow one and the same Qur’an then why are there so many sects and
different schools of thoughts among Muslims?
Q18. All religions
basically teach followers to do good deeds. Why should a person only follow
Islam? Can he not follow any of the religions?
Q19. If Islam is the
best religion, why are many of the Muslims dishonest, unreliable, and
involved in activities such as cheating, bribing, dealing in drugs,
etc.?
Q20. Why do Muslims
abuse non-Muslims by calling them ‘Kafirs’?

Dear Brothers
Sisters:Thank you for sharing this highly informative piece of
information. In this regard, I strongly recommend the just released book
BEING MUSLIM, by the renowned Canadian Muslim journalist Haroon
Siddiqui. (Groundwood Books, Toronto, 2006). This book should be a MUST
reading for non-Muslims and Muslims alike. It deals with most, if not all, the
questions asked by non-Muslims in a most intelligent, rational, and
  enlightened manner possible.Regards,Ibrahim Hayani

HOW MUSLIMS CAN RESPOND TO THE POPE'S FAKE ''APOLOGY''

Assalamu aleikum.

The Pope has - through someone else - mentioned that he regrets that
certain parts of his rant could have sounded offensive to the
sensitivities of the Muslim faithful.

Tha's a lot like regretting that certain parts of kicking in
somebody's face could have sounded offensive to that person's
sensitivities.

The Pope simply thinks he has Muslims on a rope. The reason for his
smugness is that he knows that while he insults Rasulullah (S.A.W.),
we Muslims cannot return the insult by defaming Jesus (A.S.) in
return; for Jesus (A.S.) is a Holy Prophet and Messenger of Allah
(S.W.T.) and his person is inviolable to Muslims. Indeed, christians
have often expressed frustration that it is Muslims who show up to
protest films that insult Jesus (A.S.) while the christians stay home.

But the Pope is wrong in thinking that effective retaliation is not
possible.

There IS an effective way to respond, one that not only does not
insult Jesus (A.S.), but vindicates him as a human prophet of Allah
(S.W.T.) while directly contravening the Son of God baloney and
making a laughingstock of the Pope and his cannibal cult in the bargain.

Here's how.

Islamic Community Net has often noted before that Christianity is a
cannibal cult - and that the Roman Catholic church headed by the Pope
is the epicenter of that cannibal cult that also includes Orthodox
Christians and Anglicans as well as some Protestants.

The Pope and his christian sect believe that during the daily or
weekly christian ceremony called the Mass that wafers of flat, white
unleavened bread circles are magically converted into the actual
living flesh of Jesus (A.S.) (ychhh!). (Yes, read that again,
there is no typing error). The magically transformed wafer of
unleavened bread is called the Eucharist.

For a photograph of Eucharists, see:
http://www.catholicpeople.com/catholic/Eucharist.jpg

In addition, wine is magically converted into the actual living
blood of Jesus (A.S.) (double ychhh!). Please bear closely in
mind that the Catholics don't think that this is mere symbolism at all
- they truly believe that they are drinking the actual living blood of
Jesus (A.S.) and eating his actual living flesh!

>From the Roman Catholic Cathechism (the first article below):
Under the consecrated species of bread and wine Christ himself,
living and glorious, is present in a true, real, and substantial
manner: his Body and his Blood, with his soul and his divinity

That's rather pathetic, violent, ignorant unnatural and SICK doctrine,
and as has often been explained by Islamic Community Net, this
unnatural and irreligious doctrine is the source of much christian
violence against the rest of the world, especially Muslims.

Anyone who is first made to voluntarily descend into the humanly
debased pit of cannibalism can be made to voluntarily engage in any
other depravity - including the Crusades (both Middle Ages and today).

But that unnatural christian horror (called the Eucharist) also
provides a convenient nonviolent means of effective retaliation
against the Pope's insults against Rasulullah (S.A.W.), and it soes so
without insulting Jesus (A.S.). Far from it - this retaliation makes
clear that Muslims regard with utter disgust the christian vampire
cannibal cult that insults Jesus (A.S.) by presuming to eat his flesh
and drink his blood.

The bread that magically becomes the living actual flesh of Jesus
(A.S.) is distributed free to anybody who shows up to get one at any
Mass, on Sunday or otherwise. This happens about 20 minutes or more
into the Mass. People line up and go to the front where they kneel
before the priest and chow down on the actual living flesh of the
false God with which they have replaced Jesus (A.S.).

But anyone could go there, accept in the mouth, and push it to the
side of the mouth and remove it from the church. Once accomplished,
all kinds of interesting things could happen to the Eucharist.
Stomping on the Eucharist, nailing the Eucharist to a cross,
sticking the Eucharist with needles voodoo style: the list of
possibilities goes on and on. Before anyone does this, call the church
to make sure that they are not one of the churches that first dips the
bread wafer into the wine (the vast majority of churches don't do this
and when they do it is given as a soft cube, not as a wafer).

Perhaps you will choose to retaliate this way. Or perhaps you'll pass
on this message to someone else who might do so. But if you do, here's
the most important part:

Don't

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Defend Islam/Prop.Muhammed with Pen - Vatican's Benedict XVI remarks dangerous

2006-09-21 Thread Labbayk YaMahdi

http://www.guardian .co.uk/comment/ story/0,, 1874653,00. htmlWe cannot afford to maintain these ancient prejudices against Islam The Pope's remarks were dangerous, and will convince many more Muslims that the west is incurably Islamophobic Karen ArmstrongMonday September 18, 2006The Guardian In
the 12th century, Peter the Venerable, Abbot of Cluny, initiated a dialogue with the Islamic world. "I approach you not with arms, but with words," he wrote to the Muslims whom he imagined reading his book, "not with force, but with reason, not with hatred, but with love." Yet his treatise was entitled Summary of the Whole Heresy of the Diabolical Sect of the Saracens and segued repeatedly into spluttering intransigence. Words failed Peter when he contemplated the "bestial cruelty" of Islam, which, he claimed, had established itself by the sword. Was Muhammad a true prophet? "I shall be worse than a donkey if I agree," he expostulated, "worse than cattle if I assent!"Peter was writing at the time of the Crusades. Even when Christians were trying to be fair, their entrenched loathing of Islam made it impossible for them to approach it objectively. For Peter, Islam was so
self-evidently evil that it did not seem to occur to him that the Muslims he approached with such "love" might be offended by his remarks. This medieval cast of mind is still alive and well.Last week, Pope Benedict XVI quoted, without qualification and with apparent approval, the words of the 14th-century Byzantine emperor Manuel II: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." The Vatican seemed bemused by the Muslim outrage occasioned by the Pope's words, claiming that the Holy Father had simply intended "to cultivate an attitude of respect and dialogue toward the other religions and cultures, and obviously also towards Islam".But the Pope's good intentions seem far from obvious. Hatred of
Islam is so ubiquitous and so deeply rooted in western culture that it brings together people who are usually at daggers drawn. Neither the Danish cartoonists, who published the offensive caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad last February, nor the Christian fundamentalists who have called him a paedophile and a terrorist, would ordinarily make common cause with the Pope; yet on the subject of Islam they are in full agreement. Our Islamophobia dates back to the time of the Crusades, and is entwined with our chronic anti-semitism. Some of the first Crusaders began their journey to the Holy Land by massacring the Jewish communities along the Rhine valley; the Crusaders ended their campaign in 1099 by slaughtering some 30,000 Muslims and Jews in Jerusalem. It is always difficult to forgive people we know we have wronged. Thenceforth Jews and Muslims became the shadow-self of Christendom,
the mirror image of everything that we hoped we were not - or feared that we were. The fearful fantasies created by Europeans at this time endured for centuries and reveal a buried anxiety about Christian identity and behaviour. When the popes called for a Crusade to the Holy Land, Christians often persecuted the local Jewish communities: why march 3,000 miles to Palestine to liberate the tomb of Christ, and leave unscathed the people who had - or so the Crusaders mistakenly assumed - actually killed Jesus. Jews were believed to kill little children and mix their blood with the leavened bread of Passover: this "blood libel" regularly inspired pogroms in Europe, and the image of the Jew as the child slayer laid bare an almost Oedipal terror of the parent faith.Jesus had told his followers to love their enemies, not to
exterminate them. It was when the Christians of Europe were fighting brutal holy wars against Muslims in the Middle East that Islam first became known in the west as the religion of the sword. At this time, when the popes were trying to impose celibacy on the reluctant clergy, Muhammad was portrayed by the scholar monks of Europe as a lecher, and Islam condemned - with ill-concealed envy - as a faith that encouraged Muslims to indulge their basest sexual instincts. At a time when European social order was deeply hierarchical, despite the egalitarian message of the gospel, Islam was condemned for giving too much respect to women and other menials. In a state of unhealthy denial, Christians were projecting subterranean disquiet about their activities on to the victims of the Crusades, creating fantastic enemies in their own image and likeness. This habit has persisted. The Muslims who
have objected so vociferously to the Pope's denigration of Islam have accused him of "hypocrisy", pointing out that the Catholic church is ill-placed to condemn violent jihad when it has

  Khalid
Amayreh, The Electronic Intifada - Monday, 18 September 2006, 00:19

  When the Qatar-based pan-Arab Al-Jazeera Satellite
Television announced two years ago plans to launch Al-Jazeera
International (AJI), many people around the world hoped the new satellite
channel would provide a genuine alternative to the notoriously biased
western media, which often operates under Zionist influence. The
new channel, the launching of which has been postponed several times, will
provide both regional and global perspective to a potential audience of
hundreds of millions of English speakers.AJI is the world's first
English-language news channel to be headquartered in the Middle East, with
news management rotating around broadcasting centers in Athens, Doha,
London, Washington, D.C., and Kuala Lumpur.AJI has already
attracted a number of luminaries in the world of TV broadcasting,
including such people as Sir David Frost and Riz Khan. However, it
seems that disappointment may lie in wait for many of those who expected
to see an international TV channel that is fair and objective and —
especially — free from the usual Anglo-American (and Israeli)
worldview. In fact, there are already ominous signs showing that
pro-Israeli sympathizers, some of them with a background in the BBC, are
exerting control on the editorial policies of the new channel, all under
the rubric of professionalism and journalistic standards. This
writer, who has been working for Aljazeera.net/English (which has now been
incorporated into AJI) has discovered, by chance, efforts by some senior
western editors at AJI to minimize and avoid as much as possible the
publication of articles, especially news and feature stories, portraying
Israel in a bad light or otherwise exposing Israeli occupation practices
against the Palestinian people. This trend has become quite
conspicuous lately. Aljazeera.net/English, for example, failed to report
important newsworthy events from Israel, such as the admission by an
Israeli military officer that the Israeli air force dropped over a million
cluster bomblets on Lebanon during the recent war with
Hizbullah.Similarly, a story quoting Eifi Eitam, head of a
right-wing Israeli party, calling for the expulsion of Palestinians from
the occupied territories, was left unreported, even after AJI was notified
of the subject. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of similar
examples, all showing that AJI is knowingly and deliberately avoiding
serious coverage of the Palestinian plight, especially in its feature
section which abounds with all kinds of stories covering various — and
outlandish — subjects and events.Earlier this year, one of the
pro-Israeli editors contemptuously rejected a human interest story on a
Palestinian college student from al-Najah University in Nablus who lost
her right eye to an Israeli rubber bullet while on her way home from
campus. The senior editor, Vince Ryan, argued that the subject was
not a priority and that Aljazeera.net/English would prepare a more
comprehensive coverage of similar cases later. Of course, the promised
coverage never materialized.Eventually, thanks to intensive
pleading by this writer, the article was posted (see "Rubber Bullets
menace West Bank", Aljazeera.net, 26 April 2006).Ryan apparently
never forgave me my "audacity", as was evident from his subsequent
behavior. In the third week of June this year, I submitted an article on
Palestinian children and minors killed by the Israeli army and
paramilitary Jewish settlers. The article was based on statistical
information released by the Palestinian Ministry of
Health. However, instead of thanking me for the article, Ryan, upon
seeing it and without giving it a second thought, wrote to tell me that I
was lying and that the information contained in the article was false. His

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] CURE FOR ATTRACTION TOWARDS LESBIANISM

2006-09-21 Thread Saba Khan
Question

I am a young girl living in Western Culture. I can’t
say that I am lesbian or not, but I have been always
of a mind towards women from my childhood.

I used to share room with my cousin when I was a 10
year old child. She was older than I. we did something
wrong (3 or 4 times we did hugging n touching but not
kissing). At that time I had no idea what we were
doing and how big crime it is. After two year (was
12), once I read in Quran’s Tafseer about this sin and
I was really ashamed of myself and I deeply asked for
Tawaabah from ALLAH. My cousin tried to approach me
after that but I strictly avoid it and never commit
this sin again.

Now, when I am 24, I still feel myself more inclined
towards women as compared to men. Throughout my life,
I had crush on different women, like actresses,
teachers’ n friends. Sometimes it’s in lesbians way
sometime not. Like recently I have crush on my
university teacher and I can’t stop myself thinking
about her. I keep wondering stupid things whole day
like I am talking to her, we are discussing about our
families, countries etc. I am not fully aware whether
I like her in lesbian’s way or not, I deeply respect
her and never think anything dirty about her. But I
hate myself feeling in love with her. (Like a guy)

My biggest problem is day dreaming where I play a man,
because of that I feel like men. I am in a great
trouble Sir, I am like this from my childhood but I
still believe that it’s unnatural and I wasn’t born
like this by Allah, it was my environment that made me
think like men. I accept that I am wrong I just want
to change myself completely. I feel Satan has strong
hold on me; I tried many times to stop day dreaming
but... Please guide me what should I do…. I hate
myself

Answer
Jazakallah khair for sharing with us the grave
concerns you have regarding your sexual orientation.

Sister, it is encouraging that you are aware of Allah
Ta'ala's laws and His plans for you as a Muslimah. I
agree with you that you are a victim of your
environment. Be that as it may, I also get a sense
that you are desperate to get yourself out of
Shaitaan's clutches and that you wish to free yourself
from this burden which weighs so heavily on you. It is
unfortunate that your cousin trifled with you at such
a vulnerable age. Allow me to say that you should not
let these incidents impact negatively on your life for
ever.

Let us look at what has become widely acceptable and
fashionable in most countries in the world lately. You
should understand that a big deal is made of
abortions, gambling, group sex, wife swapping,
pornography, kidnapping of human beings for the sex
trade (human trafficking), sexual abuse of children
and child porn. I probably am unaware of many other
deviant actions which are acceptable to human beings
these days and you see that the list is endless. Add
to this tally the so called 'marriage' between man and
man/ woman and woman which is also normal now and dare
one speak out against it. Sister, where do we draw the
line?

We clearly get the picture that what is loved by
shaitaan is being loved increasingly by people and
what is loved by Allah Ta'ala is put on the back
burner.

You say that you hate yourself. Dont hate yourself for
you are Allah Ta'ala's creation just as we all are. He
did not create you in vain. You are undergoing a test
at the moment. You strike me as a powerful woman who
can make a great contribution in many different ways
to the Muslim Ummah. Life is about choices we make.

Rather hate the environment which you are exposed to
and try to figure out how you can remedy this for
yourself. What you are fantasizing about the moment is
what is being fed to you via the lifestyles carried
out by many who wish to take you along the forbidden
road and into destruction. You may say to me that
nobody is telling me to do this. I say to you that
think about the exposure you have to various forms of
media, the laws which make homosexuality acceptable
and legal and the discussions which go on ad-nauseum
where one is encouraged to be politically correct
and 'accept all human beings for what they are.' This
approach erodes our morals and principles as Muslims
and do remember that we are shaitaan's number one
targets. You are aware of the trap you have been
caught up in. Don't allow yourself to be carried away
by the tide of this popular thinking that it is really
what you are.

Sister, do away with everything in your home and in
your life which may expose you and make you vulnerable
to this form of thinking. Stop watching T.V, movies,
reading magazines and any literature which hints at
lesbianism and this deviant behavior. Avoid places
frequented by people who are liberal in their thinking
to the extent that they see nothing wrong with
deviating from Allah Ta'ala's laws. Do not attend any
talks or listen to debates where the 'virtues' of this
behavior are discussed or thrashed out. Allah Ta'ala
most graphically tells us what the end

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Will a self-rule for Mindanao really benefit the Filipino Moslem majority?

2006-09-21 Thread Flipzi
Will a Moroland really benefit the majority of our Filipino Moslem brothers in
the south?

Well, definitely not!

Giving in to the ancestral domains and self-rule call by the MILF or even the
MNLF will not serve the interest or wellbeing of the “majority” of our Filipino
Moslem brothers.

Even if you give those 1000 parcels of land, that the MILF indicated, to the
leaders of the MILF or whoever they may be, the majority of the Filipino
Moslems will not benefit from it. They will most likely end up as mere
farm-workers who will depend on whatever the landlords will give them in
remuneration. They will end up as slaves still. Or they won’t even benefit in
any way at all and remain finding livelihood in some other ways. Only a few who
currently own the vast expanse of lands will benefit from this. Those who
didn’t own even a square-inch of these parcels of land will remain having
nothing.

Worse, “self-rule” or letting the motives of the Moslem landlords or the
influential among them to dominate will only give these people the authority
and opportunity to abuse the majority of the Moslem people living in the south
who are powerless and impoverished.

Even in today’s situation, those from the powerless Filipino Moslem majority
are being killed, abused and enslaved by greedy Moro landlords and powerful
families. Justice is never served because those behind the killings and abuse
overrule the system or the law itself. Imagine if these abusive personalities
gain more power and privilege to lord over the land?

The failure of the administration of MNLF Chair Nur Misuari in the ARMM gives
us a hint of the kind of leadership under a system of administration not
protected by the national government. Self-rule will not guarantee a better
life for the majority of the Filipino Moslems in Mindanao.

Only the landlords and influential Moslem people will benefit from this
self-rule and ancestral domain ownership or authority. The impoverished and
powerless majority will continue to suffer and these power-hungry people will
even deny the hapless majority the chance to get the opportunity provided by a
robust economy that is unhampered and unspoiled by political abuse and greed
posed by these influential and powerful Moslem individuals.

The MAJORITY of our Moslem brothers will not benefit from a self-rule that
the MILF is pushing. This setup will only benefit the datus or sultans or the
landlords that's why they want this self-rule and ancestral domain issue to be
considered.

Islam or the wellbeing of the majority of our Moslem brothers in the south will
not benefit from this in any way. Worse, giving these power-hungry individuals
the right to lord over these ancestral domains will most likely threaten those
Moslem Filipinos who are powerless and poor. What the MILF is pushing is
self-serving. It has nothing to do with fighting for Islam or advocating the
rights of the majority of Moslem people who are poor. They are using religion
and the ancestral domain issue as a vehicle to further their self-serving
endeavors.

The government must consider what will really benefit the majority of the
Moslem people and not that of the few who are just using the ignorant and
impoverished Filipino Moslem's desperation to threaten the government into
submitting to their ill-conceived demands.

Our Filipino Moslem brothers and sisters will be safer and will be able to
grasp the benefits of a growing economy more when they are protected by the
government’s unbiased care and attention.

The best thing for now that can really protect the wellbeing and interest of
the majority of our Filipino Moslem brothers and sisters is to stop all these
armed rebellions and terroristic acts to give the economy the chance to start
moving and grow much further. Another is to support the legally established
autonomy, which we currently call the ARMM or the Autonomous Region for Moslem
Mindanao.

The government through the ARMM should do all it can to put in the needed
infrastructure, facilities, “administrative systems” and support agencies to
spur growth and help our Filipino Moslem families get the opportunity to
realize the livelihood that suits them and to reap the benefits of the growing
economy.

The compromise for the ancestral domain issue is to follow how the CARP or
the existing Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program works. Let’s distribute
these vast idle lands indicated by the MILF that are fit for productive use to
all qualified members of the impoverished Filipino Moslem majority including
the non-Moslems as well. In distributing the parcels of land, let's not forget
that the utilization or the development of the lands must not pose a threat to
the environment or to the ecological balance.

Self-rule or anything like it will aggravate the plight of the majority of the
Filipino Moslem families. What they need is the full support of the government
in grasping the

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Tale of two crimes

2006-09-21 Thread Aboobakar Thwahir

The Times of India EDITORIAL Tale of TwoCrimesJyoti Punwani19 Sep, 2006 The two stories of crime and punishment that shook Mumbai in recent years could not have been more different. The irony is that the second was a fall-out of the first, but those who committed the first crime roam free, while those who retaliated have been convicted. What explains this contrasting response to the two crimes: The Mumbai riots of December 1992-January
1993, and the March 12, 1993 bomb blasts, which were described by police officers in charge of the investigations 'as retaliation to the riots'? Special public prosecutor in the blasts case, Ujjwal Nikam, dismissed these comparisons, saying that convictions are difficult in riot cases because it's hard to trace the accused. His views are not borne out by facts. In many cases, victims had told the police the names of the assailants, because the latter were long-time residents of their neighbourhoods. Some had even supplied the addresses of the rioters. But the police ignored these clues and chose to close many of these cases as 'true but undetected'. More than 60 per cent of the riot cases were thus closed. In the blasts case, on the other hand, the police could hardly be faulted for apathy. The
Centre ordered a special investigation team, under the supervision of then joint commissioner of police M N Singh. Some of the most respected officers traced down the accused systematically. The anti-terrorism TADA Act was applied to the case from the very beginning, and the police went after the suspects with determination. Arresting entire families only because they were related to the main accused, stripping the men in front of their daughters and daughters-in-law, religious taunts, molestation and assault — all this became routine. In one case, NHRC ordered the Maharashtra government to take action against 11 policemen, from senior SP to constable, and pending that, pay interim relief of Rs 5,00,000 to an Alibag family who had been wrongly picked up and tortured. The NHRC based its order not
on the findings of any human rights activist, but on a CID inquiry ordered by the sessions court. All this was public knowledge, but Sharad Pawar's government (like all governments) put its weight behind its police force. When these investigations were proceeding full scale, a large part of Mumbai's population was trying to pick up the pieces of lives shattered by the worst riots to have hit the city: 900 dead, 2,036 injured. Again, it was public knowledge that Dawood Ibrahim had bombed Mumbai to avenge the unprecedented targeting of Muslims in these very riots, by mobs instigated by Bal Thackeray and the RSS, with the police playing no small role. Pawar, always a grass-roots leader, did not need the Srikrishna Commission report to tell him this five years later. Yet, no instructions were given to the police to investigate the riot offences thoroughly, no special team formed, no special PP appointed. It was not as though Pawar and successive governments were not reminded of their duty by citizens who moved court in the belief that the law must apply equally to all. Whether in Bombay high court or Supreme Court, successive state governments have defended the police's inaction during the riots, by claiming that Thackeray was not guilty at all, or by giving a similar clean chit to policemen and rioters indicted by an inquiry commission headed by a sitting high court judge. A special task force, headed by the same man who now heads the state's anti-terrorist squad, spent three years reopening just five of 1,358 closed riot cases, and ensured that not a single serving policeman
indicted by Justice B N Srikrishna spent even an hour in a lock-up. Contrast this with the years in jail spent by the blast accused.Perhaps statistics can explain the contrasting ways in which the same state treated the two sets of crimes: 575 Muslims were killed in the riots, and 275 Hindus; in the blasts, all the 257 killed were Hindus. In the few riot cases that were registered and tried, convictions were not just abysmally low, but only Muslims were convicted (these convictions were set aside by the Supreme Court). Though Hindus were charged, even under TADA, no Hindu has been convicted in any riots case.

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] Fw: Inside the Vatican Magazine: Reaping the Whirlwind

2006-09-21 Thread G.Waleed Kavalec

Salaam allWorth reading. Use your own judgement...-- Forwarded message --News Analysis(The following article will appear in the October issue of Inside the Vatican magazine. To subscribe, go to
http://www.insidethevatican.com or, in the USA, call the toll-free number 1-800-789-9494.)Inside the Vatican, October 2006
Reaping the Whirlwind Benedict's meaning in his Regensburg speech has been misinterpreted by almost everyone -- by those who condemn him, but also by his defenders...
- by Dr. Robert MoynihanThey sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind.--Hosea 8:7Ich hätte mir ein paar Worte der Differenzierung gewünscht. Zwei, drei Zeilen hätten viel bewirkt. (I would have wished for a few words of clarification. Two or three lines would have accomplished a great deal.) -- Prof. Theodore Khoury, editor and translator of the book containing the dialogue of the Emperor Manuel II Paleologus with the Persian Muslim which Pope Benedict cited in his Regensburg speech September 12
Back in 1999, on May 14 in the Vatican, Pope John Paul II bowed as a sign of respect toward a copy of the Koran which was presented to him as a gift. When the book was officially presented to him, the Pope (perhaps a bit perplexed concerning the appropriate protocol for such an official gesture) kissed it.
On September 12 in Regensburg, Germany, Pope Benedict XVI, in a lecture to 1,500 university professors and students, cited an obscure medieval emperor engaged in a dialogue with a Persian Muslim, as saying with regard to the Islamic faith, Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.
We all know what happened next. Protests throughout the Islamic world, and in Europe, and in America (the New York Times pontificated that the Pope should immediately apologize for his remarks).
Sheik Malin of Somalia called for the Pope's murder. Churches were set on fire in the Holy Land. An Italian nun was shot to death in Somalia (though it was not clear that the shooting was related to the Pope's words).
In Iran, Islamic newspapers suggested there was an Israeli-US plot behind the Pope's words. The daily Jomhuri Islami said: If we do not consider Pope Benedict XVI to be ignorant of Islam, then his remarks against Islam are a dictat that the Zionists and the Americans have written (for him). Fellow hardline daily Kayhan, whose editor-in-chief is appointed by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said there were signs of Israeli interference aimed at creating conflict between Islam and Christianity.
In Israel, Jewish rabbi Shlomo Amar (the Chief Sephardi rabbi) weighed in, expressing sorrow over the deprecating things said against Islam by the Pope. Our way is to respect all religions, nations and peoples according to their customs, Amar said.
And (last but not least) in the Vatican itself, a monsignor (anonymous) was cited as saying, Under John Paul II, this would not have happened. So the Pope was attacked by secular humanists (the New York Times), by conservative Muslims, by a leading Jewish rabbi -- and by monsignors in the Vatican itself.
Talk about being isolated.Benedict had (in a sense) sown the wind, and reaped the whirlwind. How can all this be explained? Did Benedict, a gentle German theology professor who has spent his pontificate being thoughtful and kind, preaching to children and writing an encyclical about love, intend to insult Islam, or Mohammed, as claimed?
Sometimes words have unintended consequences. Taken out of context, interpreted in a way the speaker did not intend, they can cause confusion, shock, anger, violence. And that was the case for Pope Benedict XVI. His address is not a bashing or blasting or indictment of Islam but rather a profound reflection on the need for the West to return to religious faith.
Benedict's main point -- and few have noted this -- is that the West, unless it recovers a vision of God, cannot engage in a fruitful dialogue with the other great cultures of the world, which have a basic religious conviction about reality. Among these great cultures, of course, is Islam.
His entire talk is focused on this point. He attempts to persuade his academic audience that giving theology a voice in the modern Western university would be of immense benefit to Western society, because it would lead to a rational dialogue on the central meaning of human existence; namely, an investigation of the nature of God. Such an inquiry, he says, would counter Europe's destructive denial of its own origins.
Yes, Benedict did cite a few explosive words from a medieval Byzantine emperor, Manuel II Paleologus (Emperor of Byzantium from 1391 to 1425). And the world's media focused on those few words, highlighted them and interpreted them as an attack on Mohammed and Islam, and in so doing inflamed Muslim emotions worldwide.
But are these words -- in context -- an attack on Islam and

Salaam SuzanneSome Muslims are hurt, some are angered, but many of us see his remarks as just showing the world the Churches true colors. History has been letting Torquemada, witch burning, and similar manifestations of Christian Love get lost in the mists of time. The Pope whafted some scent of that reality back into the world. A needed wake-up call?
Forgive me if these remarks offend you, but Chrisianity - as opposed the the teachings of the Prophet Jesus we remember - has a long stained history.G. Waleed Kavalec-
When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said Let us pray. We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. -- Bishop Desmond Tutu

Dearest All;just my humble observation! I am not a Muslim, nor a polititian or a theologian...only a humble soul trying to make the world a better place in whatever small way I can. All this truly comes from my heart, so I hope I`m not offending
anyone, for that is not the intention. I truly understand how you all feel about the Pope`s statement! Perhaps it would be wrong, and very presumptuous for me to know the depth of wounding to the Muslim spirit, but I can imagine the
pain. The Pope was wrong and I would feel the same way as You do, if it was my faithbut the damage has been done, no going back , only forward!...He who forgives becomes the winner.I am really sorry that it hurt so many people, but the Pope is
human… with human frailties, flaws like any of us…however , if one has the courage to rises above all in the face of love, forgiveness, compassion, mercy now that is the real triumph and victory. It is easy to be angry, mad and feed into the cycle of hatred…but isn`t it
better spiritually to forgive, instead of generating more hatred. Both Islam and Christianity profess as their base…love of God, and Peace…we are all human connected by a divine spark from God... every person is part of the whole,so why don`t we try and live thus.
WE are all responsible, answerable for our own action, for our own immortal souls…Pope or pauper…God judges us the same. I ask the question …how would Mohammed react now? How would Jesus react? How would Buddha react?...if You say with anger, with hate, with
loathing, with vengeance, then all their teachings were in vain!`Father forgive them for they not know what the do!`...now this includes Popes as well. Love, light, peace of God to all of You,
