That's exactly the kernel I was using, and it was a custom compile just to get up to the current ivtv driver. The machine has since died and I haven't taken the time to recover it. I'm impressed. Recent Gentoo with Xorg 7.1.1, gcc 4.1.1 and kernel 2.6.20. ivtv version 0.10.0. The slow menu is gone and goom runs faster as I've ever seen. Thank you, John. Great work. However, it compiled just fine at that point. Mythtv menus are no longer noticeably slow. You can't see them drawing anymore. So, this seems to definitely be worth the effort at this point.
