[JAWS-Users] Victor Reader Stream Information
I direct a ministry that provides Bibles and a large library of books for Christians who are blind. I do not have a Victor Reader Stream, but a number of those who contact us do. I'm wondering if someone would be willing to answer a couple questions and give me some information that will help us provide useful resources. I know that the Victor Rreader will read rtf files. So if I provide someone with the Bible, with each book in its individual file, how does one navigate and find a specific passage with the VSR? Is there a better way to provide the Bible. For example, would a single RTF file of the entire Bible be better than each book in a separate file? Second, can the VSR read html files. We have several versions of the Bible in html format with easy links to books, chapters and verses. Can one use the VSR to click on links and move to different parts of the Bible? If you want to email me off list, you can send a message to tom@optasiaministry.org Blessings, Tom Save on a home Heating and Cooling System. Tom, I have a victor reader on Trekker so send me something and I'll test for you. Otherwise, I can email you Victor Reader manual which is on Humanware's site. FYI, I emailed NLS yesterday to see if Victor Reader is an authorized reader to download books from NLS and it is not. [JAWS-Users] Winamp and JAWS volume
Is there a setting in Winamp which needs to be adjusted to prevent JAWS volume from dropping when Winamp is played? The computer uses Vista, JAWS 10 but I'm not sure what version of Winamp he has. Re: [JAWS-Users] Winamp and JAWS volume
Try opening up winamp. Do a control + p, hit p for plug-ins, arrow to output, tab to list, arrow to direct sound, tab to configure hit enter. Now tab and some may have to be reed with jaws cursors, but a check box should be in there to control volume alone without change to system. Then go to ok, shift + tab back to close hit enter. Now the arrow keys in the main window should only control winamp and nothing else.
