Yes, so is a clean install, providing you have your prior Windows disk.

Hello all,
Has anyone had problems checking/unchecking items on the Windows Update
website? It seems very spurious using JAWS 10 and IE8 under Windows XP
Home SP3. I tried to update my friend's Windows via JAWS Tandem, and
because I thought it was all messed up I wanted to start fresh by first
stopping the automatic updates service and deleting the software
distribution folder, but I couldn't even do that because the machine
froze at her end.
Please advise as I felt my session with her was a big failure. Maybe I
should consider going back to IE7, but just for that website I don't feel
I should.

Well to solve OE message rules, I created a new rule to move posts to JawsUsers
folder if the to option contains
jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com
I will assume that GMail does not include JawsUsers in subject line.
So now I have 2 rules to move posts to same folder.
Unsure how to modify rules in OE.

[JAWS-Users] Victor Reader Stream Information

2009-07-09 Thread First CRC Tom Vos
I direct a ministry that provides Bibles and a large library of books for
Christians who are blind.
I do not have a Victor Reader Stream, but a number of those who contact
us do.
I'm wondering if someone would be willing to answer a couple questions
and give me some information that will help us provide useful resources.
I know that the Victor Rreader will read rtf files.
So if I provide someone with the Bible, with each book in its individual
file, how does one navigate and find a specific passage with the VSR?
Is there a better way to provide the Bible. For example, would a single
RTF file of the entire Bible be better than each book in a separate file?
Second, can the VSR read html files.
We have several versions of the Bible in html format with easy links to
books, chapters and verses. Can one use the VSR to click on links and
move to different parts of the Bible?
If you want to email me off list, you can send a message to
tom@optasiaministry.org
Blessings,
Tom

Thanks David, I changed rule to check subject line as you stated. I copied

When I need to post to list if I create a message I'll include [JAWS-Users]
or most likely I will reply to a message and change subject.

I went on Google site but could not find anything relating to OE.
Thanks, for your help.
Still puzzled why a new message using GMail does not include [JAWS-Users] in

On mine, I just have it search the subject for jaws-users.

The subject text you need to search for is:

[JAWS-Users]

which was the original name of this list before it went through several
moves and changes over the years. I just kept that the same so folks
wouldn't need to change their message rules.

Hi I set a new message to list and it did not make the Jaws users list.
I

did receive message below in my in box.
I am now replying to message to see if replied message makes list.
Also I am curious if JawsUsers is in subject line.
This is crazy because I was ready to change all my verizon and Bellsouth
emails to GMail. I will not do this until I confirm that Gmail works
well

 Hi again,
I changed entry in my address book and use
jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com

as name and email address.
I am using Bell South as default but I don't think this has anything to
do
with why
JawsUsers does not show up on subject line when I compose a new message.
My OE message rule tests the to fieled for
 jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com
so maybe now it will work.

Tom,
I have a victor reader on Trekker so send me something and I'll test for

Otherwise, I can email you Victor Reader manual which is on

FYI, I emailed NLS yesterday to see if Victor Reader is an authorized reader
to download books from NLS and it is not.

Only Victor Stream is allowed to download from their site.

Try opening up winamp. Do a control + p, hit p for plug-ins, arrow to
output, tab to list, arrow to direct sound, tab to configure hit
enter. Now tab and some may have to be reed with jaws cursors, but a
check box should be in there to control volume alone without change
to system. Then go to ok, shift + tab back to close hit enter. Now
the arrow keys in the main window should only control winamp and nothing else.

Hello,

The latest jaws 10 patch issued last month fixed the major problems with
iTunes 8.2 the only real problem left is jaws not reading the individual
titles for the various podcast subscriptions and even then, doing a tab
+shift tab will correct tat problem. I'd have to imagine that'll be
addressed in whatever next patch fs puts out.

iTunes 8.2 had some major problems with playing nice with JAWS. I believe
that an update to JAWS 10 included some fixes for the problems. I have
stayed with iTunes 8.1x and use it with JAWS 9 and 10.

Hi,
Is the latest version of Itunes 8 compatible with JAWS? Also, Where can I
download the free version of Winamp? I looked on winamp.com, but try as I
may, I can only find the link to download Winamp Pro. Any help will be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
