problem is that Research It is not working as expected.

 Hi,
I think you misunderstood what I wanted to ask. I know how to use
the currency converter. The problem I'm facing when trying to help my
friend is that none of the 22 services worked. Even wanting to find
the definition of happy, Wiktionary just returned with no result.
Same for the currency conversion, we presented the information as how

Hi, Are any of you Star Trek Deep Space 9 fans? If so, have you found a way to
have Jaws pronounce the homeworld of the Ferengi correctly?

It is spelled: Ferenginar. I have tried all kinds of phonic spellings and
still not found the one that pronounces Ferenginar as they say it on the show.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would recommend Office 2007. I have Office 2010 Home and Student on my

Excel 2010. The Jaws scripts for Excel do not load. I have reported this to
Freedom Scientific and the support staff on their phone line took note of the
problem and could not fix it. Hopefully it will be fixed in the final edition
of Jaws 12 when released. Jaws 11 and 12 beta seems to work well with Office
Word 2010.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Research It for JAWS 11 (Last securitybuild)notworking

2010-09-20 Thread Negoslav Sabev

Jaws interacts mainly with the computer, but some of it's modules as update,
tandem, research it, authorization need internet access. the firewall
controls what software is accessing internet and if a software tries to
access your PC. Usually all those modules need to be allowed sepretly
through the firewall. If research it asked you for access, but you didn't
sea or allow it, it won't function right. First let us know if you have a
active firewall and what is it.
So jaws may work, but you may expirience some problems as you do now. The
firewall may not be the problem, but it's a possibility.

Hello,
we use IE 7 and JAWS 7.1. I am about to start banging my head on a

down-arrow and I get numerous repeats of lines, sometimes lines get
stuck or skipped. if I arrow up from below this problem seems
lessened. I have tried screen-refresh, and reloading pages, to no avail.
yes I know I am using an older version of jaws for us here, it is
all we can afford right now.

is there something I can do to make webpages work right again? this
has been a problem for several months, most particularly on my local
newspaper's webpages, such as this:

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2010/sep/11/cycling-village-proposed-park/

this one I click the link, and displayed as one page I have two
copies of the same page, much of the first half is crunched together
and has no links. then the second half has the links and reads
fairly normal except for occasional line repeats.

I have also encountered this problem on other pages such as

[JAWS-Users] (no subject)

2010-09-20 Thread Dujari, Prateek
How can I get JAWS to not announce name of a program each time it starts and
ends? Hello.

JFW11 and Windows7. I have successfully installed and am using a 3rd party
screen saver. However each time it activates JAWS announces the name of the
screen saver program and ditto when it deactivates following a keystroke.
is there any way to set JAWS to not announce the name of this program each time
it launches and ends?

I cant find (and this is not surprising) this screen saver program show up in
the list of jcf files under config manager as I believe the list there is pre
fixed by FS.

thx.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Office 2010

2010-09-20 Thread Steve
Office 2007 works fine with Jaws 11, 2010 needs some improvements. Jaws 12
works even better and should work with Office 2010 although I haven't
personally evaluated it with 2010 yet.

Hello David,
below is my original post, I did repost a couple days ago with the
**correction** and apology about the second example web address. I am

the second should be
www.wretched.tv

the word typo I had makes for a vastly different link that is, well,
ahem, adult in nature.

see below.

Hello,
we use IE 7 and JAWS 7.1. I am about to start banging my head on a
brick wall! on some webpages I arrow down or do jaws-key plus
down-arrow and I get numerous repeats of lines, sometimes lines get
stuck or skipped. if I arrow up from below this problem seems
lessened. I have tried screen-refresh, and reloading pages, to no
avail.
yes I know I am using an older version of jaws for us here, it is all
we can afford right now.

is there something I can do to make webpages work right again? this
has been a problem for several months, most particularly on my local
newspaper's webpages, such as this:

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2010/sep/11/cycling-village-proposed-park/

this one I click the link, and displayed as one page I have two copies
of the same page, much of the first half is crunched together and has
no links. then the second half has the links and reads fairly normal
except for occasional line repeats.

I have also encountered this problem on other pages such as
www.wicked.tv
 and a few others.
thanks for taking the time to consider this problem.

[JAWS-Users] system tray

this is happening?

Thanks.

Once installed, can you choose how often a scan is performed, or if you

Hi everyone,

I have been using AVG paid version on my netbook and have been having
some

sluggishness with Openbook 9 with the pearl.

A very trusted tech friend, informed me that now, Microsoft Security
Essentials, is the best way to go. He said that many times programs seem
to
become bloated, growing larger as you use them and they add more to
their

program and can slow down your processor.

Awhile back I heard much talk about, Microsoft Security Essentials, on
this
list. Would someone send some information on this? Possibly a link to
the

program?

Lastly, is it safe to uninstall AVG just using the uninstall on the
program

itself?

Thank you

Russ
