Hi This is Vicky. I'm trying to solve my Internet Explorer problems, by

Do any of you know what the command would be to open an U R L? Control O,

In adition, I can no longer use the quick key F, to find the Edit field.
Control plus Alt plus Home, does not work either.

Re: [JAWS-Users] VERY STUPID PROBLEM WITH MY CAPS LOCK KEY

2012-09-27 Thread inthaneelf
hmmm, have either of you repaired your jaws?

usually such troubles are in a corruption of jaws installs, either by a
goofed up install file or by cold kills, shutting the computer off or
unplugging it without shutting down your windows as normal.

although the process is a little more complex than it used to be in 13, the
benefits of a repair are still there.

I am on 8 lists and few talk of these kinds of troubles with there jaws 13,
so its not the version per say, but something in your setup/installs that is
off on you.

I had something just like this with j-11, and the repair of it fix the
trouble for me.

take care,
inthane

2012-09-27 Thread Ann Marie Medlar

Hi all,

I kept getting a socket error on incoming server which is 995 for gmail.
Maybe I'll figure it out but I need to blast an email so I googled and got
following info for GMail but I did not change to layout to HTML
I think it worked. I had to play with commands but at least now I know how
to send an email using web gmail.

Hi,

I am using Jaws 13, the latest build. I am running windows 7, on a 64 bit
laptop with office 2010. I used a windows 7 laptop, 32 bit, also running
office 2010 and had the same problem on it. When I press control with down
arrow in Microsoft word, Jaws repeats the current paragraph. Sometimes when
I use the arrow keys, Jaws can occasionally be unstable. I have repaired
Jaws several times and adjusted zoom settings to 50%, but that doesn't fix
the problem. A restart doesn't help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

Since the release of the Beta 14, I have had problems reading e-mail in
Outlook 2010 with parts of messages being read in the next message parts of
a message not being read at all. Annoying, but I discovered when I have a
large list of messages that turning off the virtual cursor alleviates the
problem, of course that means when I get one of those complex e-mails I must
turn it back on.

I assume this has something to do with the buffering and I do hope the
problem is eventually solved so I don't have to change back and forth all
the time. I have one list that put out over 400 messages in one day, having
messages all mixed up was not an option, I reverted to Jaws 13 but the next
day I turned off the virtual cursor in Outlook and was able to move quickly
through messages again each reading completely and not getting mixed in with
the next one.

Problem partially solved. There should be a quick key to do this switch,
maybe shift/control v?

Re: [JAWS-Users] VERY STUPID PROBLEM WITH MY CAPS LOCK KEY

2012-09-27 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

If your JAWS is set to the Laptop keyboard settings, the CAPS lock key is
the JAWSkey. If you press it once, it does JAWS functions the same as the
insert key. If you press it twice quickly, it toggles the state of the CAPS
lock. To check your keyboard layout, go to the JAWS window or Menu, choose
options and then basics. Tab until it says keyboard layout. If you want to
change it, arrow up and down to the keyboard layout you want. Tab to OK and
press enter.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] VERY STUPID PROBLEM WITH MY CAPS LOCK KEY

IT SEEMS LIKE MY CAPS LOCK KEY AUTOMATICALLY GETS TURNED ON, BUT WHEN I TRY
TURNING IT OFF, JAWS WOULDN'T SAY, CAPS LOCK OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE
THAN ONCE. I HAVE TO QUIT JAWS COMPLETELY AND START IT AGAIN. WHEN I START
JAWS, IT WORKS. I'VE NOTICED THIS BEHAVIOUR WITH JAWS 13. WHY DOES MY CAPS
LOCK KEY AUTOMATICALLY GET TURNED ON AND JAWS DOESN'T BEHAVE?

[JAWS-Users] contacts crashing

2012-09-27 Thread john
Hi list. I recall about a year ago, someone had problems with windows contacts
crashing in vista, and someone on the list came up with a solution involving
some settings changes. I recently had to reformat my hard drive in vista, and
now have the same problem. Can anyone please repeat the instructions? Thanks in
advance.

[JAWS-Users] Copying a table

2012-09-27 Thread Pedro Romero
Hi all. I am using Jaws 11 and Windows XP and am wondering how to copy a table
so that I can paste it in to a Word document and read the data using standard
table reading commands.
I tried it by highlighting the table but when I pasted it in to a blank Word
document, Jaws said table not found.
I then tried insert+Z while in the Word doc and got the same message.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Pete

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws repeating text in Microsoft word

Sometimes
when

I use the arrow keys, Jaws can occasionally be unstable. I have repaired
Jaws several times and adjusted zoom settings to 50%, but that doesn't fix
the problem. A restart doesn't help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

Alana

David, I'm late getting in on this thread, but what are the advantages to

I'm using jaws, and will the key strokes such as alt N when I download
work the same way etc.? I have never used that browser and wonder if it is
worth it? Jim

Hi This is Vicky. I'm trying to solve my Internet Explorer problems, by
using Firefox instead.

Do any of you know what the command would be to open an U R L? Control O,
doesn't work.

In adition, I can no longer use the quick key F, to find the Edit field.
Control plus Alt plus Home, does not work either.
