Jerry,

I posted almost the exact same question two weeks ago, and no one responded
with a solution. In the end, I had to have my girlfriend show me where to
sign and then have her create a new PDF file with my signed W9. Someone else
was trying to see if the W9 could be converted from PDF to a word file, but
that didn't come about, either.

Maybe someone who has an answer will see your message. I hope so. It would
be good to get a solution. But honestly, I don't see how it could be done.

I generate my own W9 file documents for clients using Adobe. Can anyone tell
me if it is possible for me to electronically sign a pdf file such as these?
This way, I can send them to my clients via email. Many Thanks.

Hello list,

So I need to get another tower for work. Doesn't need to be anything fancy
so was figuring on going the refurbished rout. I'm looking at some
refurbished Dell OptiPlex 790 and 990 options. Quad Core I5 and I7
processors for anywhere between $250 and$300. I'd go cheaper, but don't want
any issues with Jaws sluggishness on less powerful processors. Looks like I
can still get Win 7 or Win 10 witch I'm leaning towards.

I bought an HP last year with 8 GB of ram and 2TB of storage, but it's been
a frustrating machine. Jaws is slow to respond. Don't know if it has
anything to do with the processer (AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5) but
having tried everything to optimize it, uninstalling programs, disabling
settings, etc. It's what it is I suppose.

Anyway, I've always had good luck with Dell and indeed, I find Jaws and my
keyboard snappier on my going on five year old dell vostro 3750 laptop than
this HP from last year.

Anyone had experience with either one of these Dells and can they comment on
their performance with Jaws? Again, this is mostly for work. Emails,
documents, spreadsheets, Skype telephonic calls. That sort of boring thing.

When you go to the BARD website at

a notice should pop up. If it does not, press 1, then 2 until you get to
the last section, then press 3 several times and you will find it to

I don't use outlook, but I believe this will work. While in Outlook, press
insert + V to bring up the quick settings, then in the search box type in
"edge", then press tab to get to the results list. There will be an option
called "Top and bottom edge alert with sound", press space to toggle it off,
then tab to the apply button, press space to apply the setting, then tab to
the OK button and press space to exit. You should no longer hear the ding at
the top and bottom of lists.

Cheers!

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws language question

2016-12-22 Thread Adrian Spratt
Michael,

Try going to JAWS quick settings dialog with JAWS key+v. You'll land on an edit
field. Type "language" (without the quotation marks) and you'll bring up a list
of three relevant items, beginning with language detection. I believe language
detection doesn't work with all synthesizers. I hope it does with yours.

One way is to use a different sound card (USB is pretty cheap) for your JAWS
