Judy,
The freedom import printer is part of the program called Openbook, which
enables a person to scan materials then read it to you.

Hi Group,

I am trying to explain to someone how to use the new Jaws repair method that

the run dialog box. One question I have is their suppose to be quotes at the
start and after exe? Does the rest of the info look correct?

"C:\Users\Ed\Downloads\J18.0.2530enu-x64.exe" \ "type repair"

The quotes at the beginning and after exe were put in their when I enter on
copy as path and basted it. Just wondering if those quotes need to be there.
Also wondering if I have the backslash and spaces in the correct place after
the exe?

I hope this question make sense.

[JAWS-Users] Is Anyone Else Having the Following Issues with JAWS 18?

2017-03-14 Thread Mauricio Molina
Hi All,

Running Windows 10 (1607), Office 365 Home and Business 2016, and the most
current version of JAWS, I am experiencing the following issues:

Outlook 2016 will crash and close 2 or 3 times within 20 minutes when
opening or deleting messages.

Excel 2016 will crash and close on occasion and for no apparent reason.

JAWS 18 will not provide information regarding the suggestion in spell check
when in Word 2016; even the JAWS Key+F7 command will not provide this
information. This information is provided perfectly when using JAWS 17.

Just curious if anyone else is experiencing the above issues.

Thanks,

Mauricio

Another way to get to the read view is using the keystroke Alt/W and then D.
You can use your JAWS navigation key to read the slide, space bar to go to
the next slide and backspace to go back a slide.

Hello,
I am attempting to read through school lecture notes in PowerPoint2016 with
JAWS18. I notice that when opening the file for the first time and
pressing f5 to bring the slide show into view that I am taken between slides
when I use my arrow keys to attempt to read the slide text. It is only
after pressing the escape key and pressing the f5 key again to bring the
slide show into view that I am able to use my arrows to read the slide. Page
up and down will move me slide by slide. Does anyone know why this occurs or
have a solution? I have read through the JAWS help but I am not able to find

Re: [JAWS-Users] blank lines in office 2013

2017-03-14 Thread Adrian Spratt
Leonard, I assume this procedure is no different from Word 2010, which I use.
To eliminate blank lines, I use the search and replace function, control-h,
with more than one instance of ^p for the search term and possibly nothing in
the replace field. ^p is the Word symbol for paragraph.
This gets tricky because you might not want to eliminate every example of an
extra line. Also, when you search for ^p^p (two paragraph signs), you might not
pick up all the extra lines because there's a space in-between. So I first
search for the paragraph sign and space and replace each instance with a
paragraph sign absent the space. Only then do I search and replace for the ^p^p
term.
I could go on about this and send you right to sleep, but this general concept
works for me.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Tables headings columns verbosity

2017-03-14 Thread Adrian Spratt
When Jim does his next JAWS lesson, he might pull together a list of the JAWS
verbiage that can and can't be suppressed. I know block quote/end block quote
and similar verbalizations can be suppressed, but many can't be. This is why
you can't just sit back and let JAWS rip in "say all" without sometimes turning
to the keyboard to bypass these annoying disruptions.

2017-03-14 Thread Subash
Hi Leonard, I don't have office 13, but in earlier versions of office, if
the document has lots of blank lines between text, in the find what field, I
would check the amount of blank lines I need to get rid of, press the enter
key as to the amount of blanks I want to remove, then in the replace
field, I press the space key once and go from there.
In lots of documents like those, I find the blanklines are not consistent,
so I had to go through the find/replace more than once.

Hi Tom,

I do not know if you understood my first I posted to the list because
it was a bit gibberish in my explanation so I am going to post it again
for you.

to get to your mail in your in box:

when you first open the program you should land in your in box so just
shift tab and you should hear jaws say list view or you can just press
the tab key and it will take you to the in box tab so press it again and
it will take you to the in box tree view so press it again and it will
take you to the list view and all you have to do is down arrow through
your messages.

If you land on your email address when you first open the program:

for example if I landed on my email address which is :

an...@etown.net and it says closed all I would have to do is right arrow
to open and then down arrow to my in box and then use my tab key to get
to the list view to read my messages

Re: [JAWS-Users] account in box on Thunderbird

Tom, your Thunderbird should include as default an In box and draft,
sent and trash boxes. You can add other mailboxes by moving the cursor
above the in box and hitting the applications key. Arrow down to new
folder and zap - you have a new folder/box.

On moving back and forth from the Tree View to mailboxes. Even though
I've had Thunderbird for about three years I still sometimes tab when I
should use the arrow keys as I am navigating from mailbox to mailbox
through the tree view. Don't be afraid to tab your heart out until you
find what you want. Thunderbird is very stable and forgiving, I've found.
