Subject: [JAWS-Users] Accessible password manager

Hi All!

Back in 2003, long before I lost my vision, I discovered RoboForm and
really liked it. One of the things RoboForm could do was to
automatically fill out internet forms with all your information
including things like name, address, credit card info, bank account
info, etc. and so on. But it's primary function was to remember all the
user IDs and passwords you use for various web sites, and could fill in
those login forms for you. It also had a password generator for
generating strong random passwords.

But now I find the user interface rather cluttered and with few, if any,
shortcut keys to make navigating through the program easier. Plus some
parts of the program are simply inaccessible, I can, for example,
generate a password, but can't change the criteria for generating the
password.

So, can anyone recomend a fully accessible password manager? I don't
really need it to fill all my information into forms, but do want the
ability to remember login information and to automatically fill out
login forms when requested. Although not absolutely necessary, a
password generating function would be nice to have.

Oh, and it needs to work with Internet Explorer 11.

Thanks!

I imagine mSE will continue to be updated until Microsoft no longer supports
it, at which time you'll probably suddenly find you have Windows Defender
instead, or will be told you need to upgrade to it. mS is good at this;
you'll always be notified so long as you don't mess around with your
autoupdate settings too much.

This article may help you:
https://www.howtogeek.com/225385/what%e2%80%99s-the-best-antivirus-for-windo

The info there pertains to Windows Defender specifically but probably
applies to MSE just as well at this time. And I'd say a 94% success rate (or
so) is more than sufficient for most people.

You are right, but that name change from Security Essentials to Defender
only applies to Windows 10.

In earlier versions of Windows, XP, 7 and 8,Defender was just an anti
malware program that protected you from email borne attacks, you had to
update Defender to Security Essentials if you also want general anti virus
protection as well.

Hello,

With Windows Version 10.0.14393, when I hit Insert+F10 to show "window
list", I am now seeing this "OverlayWindow0 On Top" that I've never
seen before.

I have seen it just after boot up, after loading Outlook and at other
random times.

When I hit Enter to open it and hit Insert+Q twice quickly, it tells
me "JAWS for Windows settings are used in the jfw.exe application. The
configuration name is JAWS Window. The current scheme is Classic."

When I hit Insert+F1, I get "JAWS may not recognize this control. To
show JAWS what type of control it is, press Insert+7. To see more
technical information on the control, press Control+Insert+F1."

When I hit Control+Insert+F1, I get,

"Window Technical Information:

Control ID 0

Class OverlayWindowClass_F7A740FA-AB45-4F46-BB58-3DCEDB196F1C

Handle 983746".

So, it shows the Control Id, Class and Handle. Try saying that Class
real fast. Bet you can't.

When I use Alt+Tab to cycle through my open programs, I don't land on
this Overlay Window; even when I've opened it from the window list.

Do any of you JAWS experts have an explanation for this Overlay window?

Thanks,

Reed

Hi All,

Running Windows 7, Office 2010 Standard, & J15 thru J18. Whenever I open a

file using, Control + Hone / End keys, but if I refresh the screen with,
Insert + Escape, navigation is fine. All other navigational keystrokes work
except the Control + Home / End keys until I hit Insert + Escape. This
happens with all 4 versions of Jaws. I've played with my settings, but I
can't figure it out. Would anyone have an answer as to why this is
happening, & a fix for the problem? All help will be greatly appreciated.

Like example, changes made in outlook aka office 365.
I would like to redefine or change the jaws find or virtual search ctrl - f

It's the same hotkey as MS Outlook forward message, so I would like to
define to other so to prevent keyboard conflict.
I did the search in keyboard manager, but can't find it there.

Any clue for me to find out or change it?

2017-05-29 Thread David Ferrin
Oh his system is up to date all right. He isn't blind but I have a demo
version of jaws on it so I can remote on in and take care of things
personally.

I do appreciate all of the replies and it does work fine on my system here,
but the exact same settings refuse on his. The fact is I setup a Gmail
account for him last evening and am starting the process of making the
change over. I told him that as long as he has his health ETC. I was going
to make sure he had a working system with everything he needs. The guy has
been good to me and he is family. I'm sure everybody understands what that
means.

David,

Wonder if she has installed all the latest updates? If way behind on that,
the level of security may not be enough for the new email protocols to work.

With his email service actually. I just got off the phone with a Verizon
tech support lady and she quoted me the server protocols ETC. and it still
doesn't work. She is going to get back to me in around an hour and with luck
I'll have spoken to my cousin and got his account information by that point.
Honestly not hopeful on that last deal.

Thank you Gerald for your reply. I got it on one of my other email accounts
and copied out the phone number for their tech support people. Now with luck
they will figure out the problem.

Hi Dennis.
JAWS works very well with the latest version of iTunes. Jim Flusche, has two
great audio tutorials on his group that he did on using iTunes with JAWS, and
even navigating the store. I use iTunes all of the time to organize my music
and to have great libraries of music. To get the tutorial, Join Jim’s list:

JAWS 18 works the best.
