Sorry, I meant Word not Outlook. I typed Outlook because I'm currently
having issues with my second Gmail account only retrieving messages once a

I would be very interested in what you find.

Thank you for your reply, but I've checked both places, + other places, &
nothing is there regarding saved .DOCX files. It sounds like they're just
closing without being saved anywhere! I just don't understand why I'm not
getting a save dialogue when invoking the save keystrokes!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Word 2010 Save Document Keystroke Not Working

2017-11-07 Thread Mike B.
Hi Adrian,

I'm not able to give the document a name, as soon as I give any save command
keystroke the window disappears! I've never had to repair Office / Word,
but I would imagine I can do it through the uninstall option in Programs &
features, correct? If not, please send steps! I was planning on calling
Microsoft Accessibility in the morning, but because the license I have is
one of those licenses purchased in mass MS Accessibility can't do anything
with it as far as helping, from what I've been told in the past.

Mike, a two-part semi-answer:

First, if you already named a missing document, you should be able to
retrieve it by typing that name into the Windows 7 search field. Even if you
can only recall a few words in the document, it will probably show up in
that search field, depending on how you set up results.

On the failure of F12 and its equivalent to work, it's so mysterious that I
believe a Microsoft Office 2010 repair is in order. You probably know how to
do this, but let me know if I can give instructions.

Often when I press my shortcut key for jaws, which for latest Jaws 2018 is
control+alt+9(9 on the top row of the keyboard not on the numpad)
control+alt+nothing
happens. Then again sometimes Jaws will start. Any ideas as to why this
happens?

Thanks for any help,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with shortcut key for Jaws

2017-11-07 Thread Greg Washington
Mitch,
Thanks. I went into properties for Jaws 2018 and deleted the hot key I had
set. I then exited out of properties and then reopened it and set the hot
key to control+alt+9. I then exited out of properties. The hot key worked
then twice in a row afterI closed Jaws down. I shut down the computer and
restarted it and the hot key still worked the first time I tried it. Let's
hope this fixed that problem.
Greg

Hi, Every time I have to do a repair or install an update to JAWS, the hot
key I have set disappears and has to be reset through properties on the
desktop. Perhaps the same thing has happened to you. Mitch

[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2016 Address Field Issue

2017-11-07 Thread Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.

This morning, I just discovered a major problem with Outlook 2016 when
originating an e-mail.

When I start a new e-mail with control N, I can no longer type a contact
address into the "to" field. When I do this, I get kicked out of my new
e-mail, and get placed back into my inbox.

Interestingly, I can go to my contacts list, and copy and paste the e-mail
address into the to field with no problem. I can also reply to e-mails with
no problem.

Once again, the issue occurs when originating an e-mail and trying to access
someone in my contacts list.

I am using Jaws 18, Outlook 2016 with Office 365, and Windows 7 here.

Has anyone recently experienced this issue, and if so, have you found a fix?

I am eligible to upgrade to Jaws 2018, and will do so when I get the chance.

However, in the meantime, I'd like to be able to quickly originate e-mails
in the usual way if at all possible.

Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan

[JAWS-Users] google chrome

2017-11-07 Thread Kimsan
Hi,

I would like to start using google chrome. First thing I'd like to do is set
it as my default browser. The pop up use to appear to have me set the beast
as the default browser but not anymore.

Also, with google chrome are there any menus etc? I ask this as I press alt
t, the alt key in general, nothing. When I launch google chrome, ***Never
mind I just found what I was looking for pertaining to the menu thing, but
how do I make it my default browser?

Thank you.
