There are a couple of ways. I have an older version of MS Word but I go
into the menus where you choose fon characteristics and tab until I get to
"clear formatting" and with the text I want to remove I simply press that
button and its gone. Another method is to select everything I want to clear
the formatting on and then use Control-c to copy it and then I paste it into
a Notepad blank document and that does it. I re-copy the text in the
Notepad doc and paste it back into MS Word. HTH

Tom,

I know of two ways to get Outlook up in safe mode.

You can use the Windows run command and type:
outlook.exe /safe

Here is what you want to do to keep opening it in safe mode by creating a
shortcut:

You can also create a new shortcut to outlook.exe and add the /safe switch;

First, determine the location of outlook.exe on your system. In general
you'll find it under;

  a.. 32-bit version of Windows
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office
  b.. 64-bit version of Windows
  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office If you
can't find it, do a search for outlook.exe or use OutlookTools (free)
instead.

Once you've found outlook.exe we create a shortcut to it with the /safe
switch to prevent Outlook from opening an extra window each time you click
the shortcut or use your keyboard shortcut.

1.. Right click on an empty space on your Desktop and choose New->
Shortcut
2.. Type the path to outlook.exe between quotes or browse to its location
via the Browse. button
3.. Type a space behind that and /safe
4.. The entire line should now look like this (example is for a 32-bit
version of Outlook 2010 on a 64-bit version of Windows);
  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /safe
  5.. Click Next
6.. Name your shortcut for instance: Outlook Safe Mode
  7.. Click Finish

install Avast anti-virus on your computer. This is not surprising, since
Puriform, the company that develops and markets CCleaner is now owned by

uninstalling it could be problematic because it is necessary to boot into

Re: [JAWS-Users] can not upgrade to jaws 2018 what to do?

2017-11-17 Thread Mike B.
Hi Sue,

Another thing you can do is download the latest version, which is a newer
version than what's on the CD, & run it from your computer to install J2018.
The direct download links are below.

An update, J2018.1710.42, has been released to fix the most recent Outlook
problem, a note about it is below the download links.

32 Bit:

http://jaws2018.vfo.digital/171042CV129T/J2018.1710.42enu-x86.exe

64 Bit:

http://jaws2018.vfo.digital/171042CV129T/J2018.1710.42enu-x64.exe

Note for Updated Build

The build of JAWS 2018 now posted for download, is newer than the one found
on the shipping DVD for October 2017. This was necessary to add a fix for
Outlook
365 customers who were not hearing auto-complete information when typing
email addresses. Anyone who has previously installed JAWS 2018, and is
experiencing
the issue with auto-complete in Outlook from Office 365, should download the
current build and install over top of the earlier build. This fix will be
included in the first automatic update for JAWS 2018, scheduled to release
in early December.

Hi Sue,

This message should have no impact on the installation. Below is the Notice
that we published on this issue, which occurs on some peoples computers.

Regards,
Eric Damery

Technical Support - Detail

Short Description
JAWS 2018 Setup error: Cannot find 'LocaleCommon.dll'.
Problem

Some computers may display a dialog message titled "Themida" while running
the JAWS 2018 setup package. The message states :
"Cannot find 'LocaleCommon.dll'. Please, reinstall the application."
This message typically occurs at the beginning and/or the end of the
install, repair, or uninstall process of JAWS 2018. We believe this issue is
the result of miscellaneous files left over from previous installations, and
does not cause any harm.

Solution
Select OK each time the message occurs in order to continue.
There has been no evidence that it blocks or negatively impacts the
execution of the Setup Package.

I couldn’t find that setting either to double check it. When you first start
Adobe acrobat reader, you do get that Accessibility wizard. I was a little bit
confused with that, but I did tell it to read all pages. But then there was
something about should I display continuously or as a single page. I picked
single page. Because I thought the telling if I wanted to read all pages even
in large documents where is sufficient. Now I can’t find the screen
Accessibility thing again to go through it. I’ve certainly done through the
menus and really can’t find it. Hopefully this jaws control F will do it.

Yes, ctrl-f is Adobe's find command. It has some accessibility issue that
admittedly I don't quite understand. As mentiond above, you can use the JAWS
find command instead.

There was no mention made of using the find command, but since it works in
HTML documents on the Internet, I assumed it would also work in PDF files.
So if I do a control F, then type in a word or phrase I know is in a PDF
document, I expect to be moved there. That is not happening. What am I doing
wrong and how can I fix it?
Mary

When Entering E-mail Addresses Into A New E-mail

Tom,

I know of two ways to get Outlook up in safe mode.

You can use the Windows run command and type:
outlook.exe /safe

Here is what you want to do to keep opening it in safe mode by creating a
shortcut:

You can also create a new shortcut to outlook.exe and add the /safe switch;

First, determine the location of outlook.exe on your system. In general
you'll find it under;

  a.. 32-bit version of Windows
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office
  b.. 64-bit version of Windows
  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office If you
can't find it, do a search for outlook.exe or use OutlookTools (free)
instead.

Once you've found outlook.exe we create a shortcut to it with the /safe
switch to prevent Outlook from opening an extra window each time you click
the shortcut or use your keyboard shortcut.

1.. Right click on an empty space on your Desktop and choose New->
Shortcut
2.. Type the path to outlook.exe between quotes or browse to its location
via the Browse. button
3.. Type a space behind that and /safe
4.. The entire line should now look like this (example is for a 32-bit
version of Outlook 2010 on a 64-bit version of Windows);
  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /safe
  5.. Click Next
6.. Name your shortcut for instance: Outlook Safe Mode
  7.. Click Finish

Re: [JAWS-Users] can not upgrade to jaws 2018 what to do?

2017-11-17 Thread Eric Damery
Hi Sue,

This message should have no impact on the installation. Below is the Notice
that we published on this issue, which occurs on some peoples computers.

Regards,
Eric Damery

Technical Support - Detail

Short Description
JAWS 2018 Setup error: Cannot find 'LocaleCommon.dll'.
Problem

Some computers may display a dialog message titled "Themida" while running the
JAWS 2018 setup package. The message states :
"Cannot find 'LocaleCommon.dll'. Please, reinstall the application."
This message typically occurs at the beginning and/or the end of the install,
repair, or uninstall process of JAWS 2018. We believe this issue is the result
of miscellaneous files left over from previous installations, and does not
cause any harm.

Solution
Select OK each time the message occurs in order to continue.
There has been no evidence that it blocks or negatively impacts the execution
of the Setup Package.

Hello I got my CD in the mail and put it in the computer and go through the
jaws set up and for some reason it comes up with can not find common local.dll
please reinstall the program. I do already have jaws 18 on my system so does
this mean I have to uninstall all of the jaws stuff including jaws itself and
start from scratch going from jaws
18 to 2018? I never had anything like this since am coming from a window eyes
user. Any help would be excellent. Thank you.

Doesn't setting a temporary placemarker method work for you, Terry?

1. Go to the top (or bottom) of the text you want to copy, and set a temp
placemarker with windows-control-k.

2. Go to the end of the text you want to copy and press the dual-layer
keystroke insert-space then the letter M to copy between the placemarker and
the marked point where your virtual cursor is located.

3. Press Control-C to copy to the clipboard.

4. If you want to append additional stuff to the clipboard, do the same
thing as above, except instead of copying the marked selection to the
clipboard control-C, use control-V instead.

Re: [JAWS-Users] clipboard and Google Chrome

2017-11-17 Thread Adrian Spratt
Steve,

This is useful information, but I believe you need to correct it in two ways.

In step 2, here you're selecting, not copying, text. It's important because you
can do other things with selected text besides copying.

In step 4, I believe the "append to clipboard" command, a JAWS function, is
JAWS key+Windows key+c. As you know, control-v is MS's paste command.

I understand that it is accessible according to an older tutorial that I
have since removed from the server. Also if memory serves a guy we both know
in Canada uses it himself. I will look around in my files for it and if you
like pop it in your drop box.

You don't have to be crazy to run a list like this, but it does help.
