Did you try clearing your cookies?

I can copy and paste the steps from that page, if you want, but it's going
to be difficult to find the buttons if you're not able to understand them. I
mean, it is lucky it's Spanish then or not Chinese, or, indeed, Indonesian,
so you could probably do it. However, I think clearing your cookies should
(probably?) set your account language to match your system language. Well,
anyway, here is what it says (applies to desktop web):

If you are logged into your account

- Click on the circular Profile icon at the top right of any page, and
select Settings
- On the next page, under the General tab, click edit next to your current
language
- From the dropdown menu on the next page, select the language of your
choice, and click the red Save button

If you are not logged into your account

You will see a dropdown menu on the top right of any page listing the
different available languages. Changing the language in this dropdown *will
not*
change the language of your actual Meetup account.

You will have to log in and follow the steps above in order to change your
account's language settings on the desktop website.

Perhaps that might be a part of the problem. Try switching to a different

Hi David and others.

So, not exactly helpful for this list, but I ran NVDA with the VLC add-on.
At the suggestion of someone else, instead of using the native VLC
keystroke, I used the one provided by the add-on to read the status line,
which is independent of the relevant VlC keystroke. I'm guessing this won't
work in fullscreen mode, which is usually the preferred method of video
watching for sighted people at least, because I think it removes all
"extraneous" information to the video content. Anyway, jumping with
ctrl-left and right also announces elapsed time using this combination. It
would be very nice if someone did something similar for jAWS.

Unfortunately, none of my efforts to read the status line with JAWS 18 have
been successful. In fact, using the touch cursor in VLC appears to make JAWS
laggy and unresponsive, on my end, and I'm guessing the mouse pointer cannot
go there, so the JAWS cursor is completely useless.

The t key displays this information on the screen, however, JAWS will not
announce it. I suppose if one knew where the text was onscreen, you could
probably use the touch cursor to find it. I have tried with the JAWS cursor
before though with no luck. The thing is that the text is displayed quickly
and then disappears, so searching around for it is not really an option. It
would be something possible with scripting, I would think, but to my
knowledge there are no JAWS scripts for VLC at this time. I'm in the process
of learning about this and maybe one day I could create something, but for
now, it's still out of my league.

I believe there is an extension for VLC you can get that forces this data to
remain on the screen permanently. This might help for this purpose. I will
look into it. Alternatively, there might be a sneaky way to find out this
information, like winamp's ctrl-j command, which is meant for jumping to a
specific time, but when invoked, shows the current elapsed time as the jump
value if you don't type anything. I'm not quite sure.

use the Word Text to Table conversion to do the formatting. Then copy that

If you're trying to get a table in a PDF document to import into Excel, it's
never been an easy nor automatic process. My approach is to first convert
the PDF file to text and do some cleanup before importing into MS Word. Then
use the Word Text to Table conversion to do the formatting. Then copy that
table and paste into a blank Excel worksheet. Lots of steps, but it gives
you the opportunity to clean up the data and nesting levels.

Is there a keystroke or menu option in VLC to tell a person just how much
time has passed in the playing of a media file? I know how to jump forward
and back already, I would just like to know if there is a way to find this
information out.

I have some videos that are several hours long and I can't always watch them
in a single sitting.

Well, my informational only web page is now costing me another $120 for 2
years. I renewed my domain name and moved it to godaddy’s faster server
which is also a little more secure. I had a problem with the migration and
called for help. The young lady was fantastic in the help then gave me the
bad news about google chrome. Shortly they will require ssl verification for
every web page and if you do not have it the individuals trying to access
will get a security warning. She only told me about it now before they get
hammered with phone calls about the security errors.

Read the instructions, and follow the steps. I guess clearing your browser
cookies might actually help, in both cases. I'm sure your computer's system
language is not set to Indonesian or Spanish.

Eloquence, Vocalizer, or something else, yes. I guess Eloquence is still the
default synth for jAWS. But the text you pasted from the Michael Danza
message above was in Indonesian. For some reason, Linkedin is set to display
your content in that language. You, or someone on your computer, must have
selected that language by mistake in your linkedin settings. I only used
Linkedin a bit. But if it's like Facebook, you can change the displaying of
Linkedin content to the language of your preference. I'm assuming you want
to change it back to english. Maybe this page will help you:

That one should display in english.

Perhaps that might be a part of the problem. Try switching to a different
one and see what happens. The synth itself may also have some kind of
language setting. I'm guessing that you are not using Vocalizer, as in order
for it to adopt Spanish pronunciation rules and voice, you would have to
install a Spanish voice. Where exactly is the problem happening on those
sites? Can you for example paste some of the strange content in a message,
so we can see it?
