Re: [JAWS-Users] texting from computer
Hi Orlando, Personally I'm running Windows 7 & 10 with Jaws 16 thru J2018, had to make this a Jaws thing, & Outlook Express. When I send out text messages from my computers I receive them back as replies to my Outlook Express In-box. I use a different email address for my iPhone than I do for my computers, but I can access my iPhone emails from an identity / separate account I have set up on all my computers. I know a lot of people that don't receive voice mail, texts, & emails because of whatever cellular or internet hiccups, so there's no way that I will risk not receiving something important because all my messaging is controlled by someone elses server / the cloud. Hi. f1 mute, f2 volume down, f3 volume up, um, I can't remember the rest. lol. If it's a think pad, fn and the arrow keys emulate home and end but fn up and down arrows doesn't work, that's because page up and page down are to the left and right of the up arrow key anyway. Re: [JAWS-Users] texting from computer
Hi Michele, Use your regular email client. Texting is the same as emailing except for instead of putting an email address into the To, CC, or BCC field you put the persons cell phone number at the carrier's domain. The carrier's domain is the, @vtext.com, for Verizon as an example. Take Care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Lenovo can also supply laptop user manuals in a relatively accessible HTML format on request. I can't find the web page at the moment, but there's a contact e-mail address for the department that deals with compliance with accessibility-related regulations and standards. That's the department which offers the HTML documentation. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List On Behalf Of Mike B. Re: [JAWS-Users] A Question About Level And Position
Hi Rebecca, I have experienced this with the last 3 versions of Jaws on Windows 7 64-bit. It appears to me that this is a problem with Jaws since it occurs on more than 1 system, very annoying! In the JAWS settings, there's a check box that says: Show level and position. It's checked, by default, it says. However, the results are variable in the folder and file lists in Documents. I have Windows 10, 1803, and the latest version of JAWS. Yesterday in Documents, using insert-tab, JAWS said that a folder was 3 of 48, which is precisely what it should say. The status line said there were 48 folders, and my curser was on the third one down. Today, it's gone back to saying 3 of 29, and for the last folder, it says, 32 of 32. My screen is maximized. I tried restoring it, and nothing changed. But the inconsistency baffles me. Window-Eyes consistently reports the correct position, and JAWS is set to do so. Is this a bug that could be fixed?
