Re: [JAWS-Users] changing folders to list or detail view
Hi Ted, Read this description of the View Menu keystrokes , and I think it'll answer your question. From: Brian Lee You use CTRL with shift key and 8 you go into the content view. If you use up and down arrow keys in this view you will only here the name of the file and the right and left arrow keys will do nothing. You can read the current line to get other header information. If you use CTRL with shift and 6 you go into the details view. In the details view you hear one file at a time but you can use the right arrow key to get more header information. One of these views might be what you are wanting. The numbers 1 through 8 go with the CTRL and shift keys to change views. The numbers go in the order of the icons in the view menu as follows: CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large icons, CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large Icons, CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons, CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons, CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List view, CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details view, CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles view, CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content view. Take care. Brian Lee Take Care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sent from my iBarstool. Re: [JAWS-Users] need to read a .BMP file
Huh. It never does, does it? j/k. I take it then you don't have an OCR package installed on your system? Open Book is the one Freedom Scientific sells. I always found it prohibitively expensive. I'm planning to purchase Abbyy Finereader sometime soon as the price is very reasonable, but I just haven't got round to it, and so I can't check to see if it can do this, however it is supposed to be able to work on image files, too, which, I assume, would include .bmps. Even if it doesn't, you can probably convert the file to a workable format. Actually that reminds me of something ou could try. In your context menu for the bitmap image there might be a "convert to adobe PDF" option. I have one, but I'm not absolutely sure where the menu item comes from -- as in, if it originates in Windows, or with Adobe Acrobat Pro, which I have on here. In any case, if you can perform this operation, you could try opening the .pdf in Reader/Acrobat and then attempting to oCR the document with the JAWS feature. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List On Behalf Of Vicki W. Er, and by "right mouse button", of course, I really mean the simulated one; the asterisk key on your number pad. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List On Behalf Of JM Casey Sent: July 8, 2018 3:14 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Pictures On A Page Hey.
