Re: [JAWS-Users] Is there JAWS for XP Professional and JAWS for XP Homeor just 1 JAWS for all?
Siew Ling, The authorization is the key. If you have a authorization for JAWS professional it will run on both XP Professional and XP Home. It sounds like you do have the JAWS Professional authorization. You should be able to install JAWS without sighted assistance. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Tan Siew Ling Sent: Sunday, September 13, 2009 10:54 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Is there JAWS for XP Professional and JAWS for XP Homeor just 1 JAWS for all? Hi, When you purchase JAWS from Freedom Scientific, is there a need for you to tell them if your Operating System is XP Professional or XP Home? My laptop is running XP Professional but my new Netbook is running XP Home. Can my JAWS be installed for the XP Home one? Another question I would like to ask is can I install JAWS without sighted help? As in just pop in the CD and follow the prompts? Thank you. Does the audio work on the twitter sign-up page? Even when the words are clearly spoken and I type them in I don't get past the sign up page. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jon C. [JAWS-Users] Incorrect reporting of unread items in Outlook 2003 by JAWS 10
When using JAWS 10 and Outlook 2003 as I down- or up-arrow through the folders in the Navigation pane, I am hearing the number of unread messages being incorrectly reported. i.e. after reading all messages in my in-box as I tab to the Navigation pane I hear in-box, one unread. I know this is not the case. This occurs in all folders and the number can vary. Is there a way to resolve this issue? I have heard this may be a bug in Outlook 2003. Is there still a keystroke sequence that shuts JAWS down and completely removes it from memory? I'm not speaking of JAWS key+f4, but rather another key sequence. [JAWS-Users] repairing JAWS 9
Hello list, I am attempting to run a repair of JAWS 9. I begin the process by executing J9.0.2152_ILM.exe file which I have downloaded from the web site. I am presented with the setup package dialog in which I can choose Next or cancel. I choose next and am told Please wait while your system is configured for JAWS. I here the clicks as the package is extracted and then the Windows Installer program window comes up and I receive the following message: Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue.. I am presented with an OK button and when I hit enter on this the dialog goes away and I am back at the desktop. At no time am I presented with the installation option to repair jaws. Any ideas on how to resolve this? [JAWS-Users] bluetooth serial ports
Hello, I am using a Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter model f8t012 and after installing the software which I downloaded from the Belkin site I discovered that the first available com port of Bluetooth serial ports was com10. In order to use JAWS with a braille display I can only configure JAWS to use com1 through com8. Is there any way to adjust the first com port number for Bluetooth under windows XP so I can set the port number lower in order to accommodate JAWS? Or is there some change I can make in JAWS to allow it to handle higher port numbers? I have verified that both JAWS 9 beta and JAWS 8 both have the com port 8 limitation. [JAWS-Users] AudibleManager and JAWS
Hello, I am currently using JAWS 8 and AudibleManager 5.1.0.2 and am experiencing the following problem: as I use the up- and down-arrows in the Library list-view focus seems to be moving in to the Detail html view for the title I am selecting. Each time I change the selection in the Library list-view this occurs and I am forced to use the control-shift-b command to return focus to the Library list-view. How do I turn off the detail view or prevent JAWS from moving focus to it?
