blank lines. Then there's an Edit Description button you can tab to and
activate, with the word blank entered by default. You can replace that but
note that it will not accept no entry so you have to put a single space
character. Doing this will have JAWS saying nothing when you arrow through
text and encounter blank lines. Is that what you're looking for?

I am just getting started with Firefox 3, but I have problems with tab
browsing and downloads. I don't always get any feedback when opening a new
tab when using Control Enter or Control Shift Enter on a link or download
link. Sometimes it did the action and I am not aware of it and sometimes it
did nothing. Very frustrating! Also, I got used to closing a single tab or
entire window in IE 7 with Control F4. This is very consistent. This
doesn't work in Firefox 3. Would this be a Firefox issue or a FS issue?

 Hi, Donald,
Oh, interesting. I have the same problem. I didn't notice it until you
pointed it out, as I generally don't access JAWS help on the fly.
 However,
if you know the IE keystrokes, Firefox is pretty similar. :)

This doesn't work for me. I had to go into the general JAWS Help system

go to the Firefox topics in the index. Is this because the program for
 Firefox changed for 3.0?

 Hi, Larry,
I have found Firefox a lot less memory-heavy than IE., especially the
 later
versions like IE 7. In other words, Firefox seems to require a lot
 fewer
system resources in order to run at a fairly fast speed. There are
 also
 some
add-ins, such as Add Blocker and an accessibility plug-in, for Firefox
 that
make it more blind-friendly. There is a JAWS help section on Firefox,
 and
in general, the accessibility commands JAWS uses for IE work in
 Firefox.
 I
found the change-over very smooth and almost seamless. I changed to
 Firefox
when I updated to IE 7, and so I'm still not used to tabbed browsing
 in
 either program. :)

It all comes down to personal preference, however.

 Hth,
 Erin

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Question about an adobie update.

 Hello everyone,

On Friday morning, when I booted up my computer, there was a message from
the adobie site which asked me if I wanted to update my adobie player. My
question is that I don't know the particular number of the file or player
that was updated when I accepted the change. Is there any way that I can
find out this information? I looked in the program menu, as well as the
start menu and couldn't find anything that would tell me that information.

[JAWS-Users] free online convertion of text to speech

2008-06-01 Thread phani srikanth
 Dear Friends,

Many of you might aware some software programs that help people to
convert text in to speech. I recently came across this website and it
looks very
interesting. Free on-line registration. It takes less than2 - 3
minutes to convert the uploaded document. utilize, if you find it
useful. http//
www.spokentext.net

SpokenText.net allows you to record PDF, Word, plain text,
PowerPoint files, ,RSS news feeds, emails and web pages, and converts
them to speech automatically.
You can download your recording as an iPod book or mp3 file. And every
member gets a personal podcast URL , which you can use to download
recordings to
iTunes or your iPod. You can also easily share your recordings on your
web site or blog using SpokenText Badges or individual recording
players. And best
of all it's COMPLETELY FREE!

 Thanking You.

 Hello Sue,

I recommend that you run the program manually because there are two page
tabs in the program. If you run it automatically with the /auto switch, I
think that you will only be cleaning items in the Windows page of the
program. There is an applications page in the program where cached items
from other programs are cleaned, which should be done after cleaning the
items under the Windows page. If you want to close the program when
cleaning is finished you can go into advanced settings by pressing Alt-O for
options and then using tab key to move to the advanced button. After
pressing spacebar on the advanced button you can tab to a checkbox for
closing program when cleaning is complete and use spacebar to check the box
or to remove the check mark. Also if you press Alt-O and then use tab key
to move to the settings button and press spacebar, you can then use tab key
to move to a checkbox for starting the program when Windows starts.

Another setting that you might or might not want to change is in the
advanced settings of the program and is for only cleaning items from the
Windows temp folders that are more than 48 hours old. It is simply a
checkbox that can be checked or not checked, but by default it is checked.

Again, I recommend you manually do the scanning and scan in both the Windows
and the Applications pages of the program. In fact, I noticed under
applications there are such items as Windows Defender, regedit, Adobe
Reader, MSN Messenger, Sun Java, Office and others.

I might be wrong, but I think that if you perform the run function when
you first start the program that it only will clean for the page of the
program that is the active page. If one run cleans both the items in the
Windows page and the Applications page then of course an autorun should work
 well.

 Take care.

 Subject: [JAWS-Users] C cleaner.

I've recently downloaded C Cleaner and I find that it works really well.
I noticed in options that C Cleaner can run automatically when the
computer starts up but I'm wondering if it fixes issues automatically or
if you have to scan for them.

Please can someone let me know.

 Hi Brian,

In your post for C Cleaner did you include a direct link? If you did my
computer failed to read it and I have to figure out why. If by chance
 there
isn't a link posted could you please send it? I went on the send space
website and couldn't find your C Cleaner post. Thank you very much for

the great advice and help you give to the list.

Here is a link on SendSpace where it will be for the next couple of days.
When on the Sendspace page list the links with Insert-f7 or if using a
laptop then caps lock f7 and press C until you hear ccsetup207.exe. Press
enter on the link to start the download process.

The file I uploaded to Sendspace is the latest version.

 Take care.

 Hello Sue,

I recommend that you run the program manually because there are two page
tabs in the program. If you run it automatically with the /auto switch,
 I
think that you will only be cleaning items in the Windows page of the
program. There is an applications page in the program where cached
 items
from other programs are cleaned, which should be done after cleaning the
items under the Windows page. If you want to close the program when
cleaning is finished you can go into advanced settings by pressing Alt-O
 for
options and then using tab key to move to the advanced button. After
pressing spacebar on the advanced button you can tab to a checkbox for
closing program when cleaning is complete and use spacebar to check the
 box
or to remove the check mark. Also if you press Alt-O and then use tab
 key
to move to the settings button and press spacebar, you can then use tab
 key
to move to a checkbox for starting the program when Windows starts.

As I understand it, your problem is not about the

If Adobe 8.1 is properly installed on your computer, go to my computer,
scroll to the folder where the pdf file is saved, and hit enter. Adobe 8.1
will immediately begin to convert the file for you. Then you have the option
in the adobe menu to save the file as a text file, which you can open in
 word.
Remember if the pdf file you have is an image or picture file, adobe 8.1
cannot convert it. Instead, you will get a message that says empty
 document.
