You may have figured this out already, but I discovered something helpful in using the MS Word spell checker with JAWS. Often, when I am spell checking JAWS will not read the text in the window, or tell me what words to substitute. It sometimes keeps reading the previous problem it flagged instead of the one it's really on. But I found that if I simply tab once, and then shift tab back, JAWS will read the problem area normally.
