when I'm not trying to use them at all, so that's not an
option for me. My Think Pad T480s though has a track point, and two
mouse buttons just below the space bar but above the otuch pad which
hasn't proven to be too particularly deadly so is still on, I can just
left click with that to get my verification. It doesn't work to simulate
a left click with JAWS using caps lock num row 8, I'm assuming num pad
multiply wouldn't work either.

Thanks for reading, hope this is useful.

Yes, the windows+p thing should work on win7. If it's a laptop, you
wanna do this when ever you have a chance anyway it provides a

battery life from 11 hours to over 20 hours. My Yoga 2 pro laptop goes
from 6 hours to about 10. Not all are that extreme.

This feature is removed in stock win10 drivers. If your driver for
windows 8.1 or 7 will agree to install under win10 you may be able to
get the functionality back. My yoga2pro loses this ability every time
I let it upgrade to a new windows 10, so I use the vga driver
installer that was in the lenovo partition when I got it. That works
but I have to set windows not to install drivers automatically or else
it promptly updates the driver and breaks it again.

The issue is that they made it smart enough to know there's not a
second screen, so it doesn't ask you if you really want to do it
anymore. Back in the old days, it would just do it then show a message
allowing you to confirm that you could still read it, you would click
yes or if it had gone black on you, as a sighted user you'd just
panick for 30 seconds or so then it would automagically revert back
since you never clicked yes.

Really annoying to be honest, if I could turn the screen off on this
Think Pad t480s I imagine I'd be getting upwards of 15 hours of
battery pretty easily.

In windows 8.1, I was able to press windows key plus the letter p. I would
then tab through this to "second screen only" then press enter. It would
then say, "project and then no". I would tab to yes and press enter. I have
not been able to make this work properly in windows 10 though. Give it a try
and see if it works for you.
