All these issues need to be reported to FS support so they can properly log
and track them.

Agreed, but that's a secondary option, if you've got to do something else.
With place markers, I've noticed that sometimes, they don't hold, though I'd
try the place marker first. Going to start using them at work more, thanks
for the reminder.

Thanks, Patti, you've given me a very constructive workaround, and I'll use
it. Still, it's an extra step and a distraction. Let's say I'm copying seven
items of information from different parts of a webpage. With previous
versions of JAWS, I could rely on focus staying where I'd left it on
transferring each item to a Word file. This is already a tedious process
that requires concentration. Your idea will help, but it's still an extra
precaution I shouldn't need to take based on earlier versions of JAWS.

Note for anyone following this thread. You can set a temporary placemarker
in a browser with control-shift-k. As I recall, it is replaced each time you
set a new one or close the window.

Hi. We've had an earlier thread on this subject. I've also written and

The one you posted brings up the list, and allows you to name permanent

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 2018 won't keep focus with IE in some webpages

2018-04-15 Thread Adrian Spratt
Thanks, Patti, you've given me a very constructive workaround, and I'll use it.
Still, it's an extra step and a distraction. Let's say I'm copying seven items
of information from different parts of a webpage. With previous versions of
JAWS, I could rely on focus staying where I'd left it on transferring each item
to a Word file. This is already a tedious process that requires concentration.
Your idea will help, but it's still an extra precaution I shouldn't need to
take based on earlier versions of JAWS.

Note for anyone following this thread. You can set a temporary placemarker in a
browser with control-shift-k. As I recall, it is replaced each time you set a
new one or close the window.

How about using place markers, so when you go back to that page, all you have
to do is press the letter K.
Patti

I'm referring to the situation where I'm taking information bit by bit from a
webpage. I need to be able to go back to that page and resume where I left off.

What I do is make sure my curser is in the upper left hand side at the top.
Patti

Hi. We've had an earlier thread on this subject. I've also written and spoken
to VFO about it, but all they told me was to change certain JAWS quick settings
that I want to keep for other purposes. I don't need to make these changes when
using earlier versions of JAWS, which means I spend my day switching between
versions.

I've just written again to VFO tech support. I'd urge anyone else experiencing
this problem to do the same because it's a significant flaw.

Adrian:

I've also increasingly noticed this problem with Firefox.

Am using Firefox 52 here.
