[JAWS-Users] Reading the formula bar in Excel 2007
In Excel 2007 is there a key to read the formula bar the way control-f2 reads it in previous versions of office? thanks. If u just hit F2 with the focus on the cell it should read it out to you. Doesn't this work in 07? F2 puts you into edit on the cell. Control-f2 used to read the formula bar, but it does something else in Excel 2007. I don't want to risk my students making an accidental change in the formula by editing, so a reporting key would be better. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading the formula bar in Excel 2007
Hi Ann, The keystroke for reading the formula bar changed to CTRL+JAWS key+f2. If you use CTRL+JAWS key and press f2 twice, the formula is placed in a simple dialog box with an OK button. There doesn't seem to be a lot of benefit putting it in the dialog box, as just using the JAWS key+CTRL+f2 keystroke a second time lets you hear the formula again. Using the JAWS cursor in the dialog box will let a person find the formula a little faster than if you need to use the JAWS cursor without using the dialog box, but most of the time the JAWS key with CTRL and f2 will suffice. Take care.
