Re: [JAWS-Users] linked in

2018-06-07 Thread David Casanave
Hi Justin,

What are you wanting to do on LinkedIn?
I use it all the time and admit the learning curve can be significant but
that's true of most tools new to us. The more powerful the more complex and
more to learn. The bright spot is that once the profile was set up, I tend
to regularly use only a handful of functions. So, mastery of a few of the
most useful functions is doable. Use "H' to move the mostly self-explanatory
headings and familiarize yourself with the content under those that you
think you want to use.
Write back if you want some more specific tips.

To your success,
David

Have you looked for a mobile versions? Perhaps that would be more
accessible. But likely not as full-featured.

I have had LinkedIn for a few years and it is terrible. They even have a
link to send comments and inquiries for accessibility and I have sent
several messages over the years and never gotten a responce. I think it is
fake accessibility. It can be a tool for business so you may need some
sighted help if you think it can work for you. I am not clear on just what
good it does. I keep it for my Not-for-profit.

Yeah. I don't have any suggestions. Just use it as little as possible and
get out. The whole thing is just a pain. Sighted people hate it too, so it's
not just us.

It is reasonably accessible and usable with Jaws. You will need to spend
some time to familiarise yourself with its lay out. I must however admit
that I do not get the opportunity to spend a great deal of time there.

You can navigate between headings by pressing h Features such as sending
invites, messages and accepting invitations work fine with Jaws. Also, you
can set up e-mail alerts to notify you when someone sends you a message or
