Great. I think I'll wait for the stable build, but that all sounds ace to

Well, it seems I was premature; it is not actually working (in the sense

I'll get on board with FF 58. I used 57 with NVDA and it worked ok. All

Once the ESR goes to the latest version it won't work. I will use the ESR

This weekend it took me ten minutes to figure out an audio captcha. I don't
do background noise well either. Questions are good: is grass green? What is
2 plus 2? Simple stuff that requires a human answer.

Yeah, that works, and I've tried this, too. I have difficulty hearing
through background noise sometimes and the audio captshas are designed to
be, well, noisy.

Your solution is one I kind of like, but I don't think a lot of people in
the world would know the answer to that question. It's surprisingly hard to
come up with universal trivia.

My audio solution has become this. Open a word document and then listen to
the audio and type what I hear. Being a tiny bit older than some on the
list, I just try for 3 or 4 numbers or letters at a time. Then I have it
repeated until I have the solution entered in Word. Then I copy and paste
the results into the field and most of the time, I get it correct on one or
two tries. The structure of the audio CAPTCHs is such that you have to click
to start the audio and then jump into the solution field and type. This
makes me hurry and I too often goof. Just be sure that when you go back to
activate the repeat button that you don't press "get a new challenge."

I still think that we could come up with a better CAPTCH structure. How
about audio that said, "Enter the first name of the famous man shot by John
Wilks Boot."

Yes, true. I almost never successfully solved an audio one. They do seem to
be getting clearer though. I just registered to IMDB to post film reviews

to my disappointment. However, two tries and I got the audio one perfectly.

Nope. Captchas are written in very hard-to-read text, on a very hard-to-read

Hi.

So, which version of FF do you have running?
I mostly stopped using IE completely and use firfox only about 99% of the
time. The one time I went back to iE recently is when FF 57 would only work
with nVDA, and I wasn't quite willing to give up on JAWS altogether. But I
quickly went back to FF when I got the Extended Support release.

I do use an older version of Firefox, but since I only use it for solving

browsing is done in Internet Explorer.

Either way, it still does work with older versions of Firefox.

Ok. The important part of webvism, the one we're all talking about -- indeed
doesn't seem to work. I get a "not found or session expired" error message,
on this one page at least (IMDB password recovery). The interesting thing is
that on normal pages without a capsha, it just says "no capsha on this page"
or something like that.

So -- does anyone successfully use this application, or not, these days?
Andy said it doesn't work with new versions offirefox. Is this is true, it
makes the add-on completely useless, as most people will be updating their
firefoxes regularly, and indeed, the software itself greatly encourages
this, for various perfectly sensible reasons.

Re: [JAWS-Users] web CAPTCHA

2018-01-08 Thread Dave...Oregonian
Ed and Others,

Be very careful when using BeMyEyes to read your computer screen. Make sure
you get to the captcha section *before* you enter any personal information,
and make sure that there is *no* other personal information on that screen
or on other windows in the background. As nice as the BeMyEyes service is,
it is a human on the other end who is reading your computer screen, and they
can see everything on it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] web CAPTCHA

2018-01-08 Thread Jim Pursley
Indeed.  Firefox/Google captchas use the I am not a robot facility and
lately when the captcha pops up the x is checked and I get a free pass.
I am also finding that the audio rendition of the visual captcha is a
lot more, well, audible, than it used to be.  So some improvement, anyway.

The I phone solution sounds marvelous - expanding the tool kit of
techniques.

Nice idea, but the OCR feature cannot solve image captchas. In fact, Eric
