Hi all,

I have an ear file which contains a web-application (war file:
testapp.war).

If I deploy this war file, it can be reached at:

http://myhost.com/testapp

How can I configure JBoss to open my webapp at this url:

http://myhost.com

But, because during development all my (relative) links look like
this:

/testapp/myjsp.jsp

So I want to keep the /testweb prefix.

Can this be achieved?

Thanks,

[JBoss-user] Tomcat - disable session serialization

2004-02-19 Thread Keysers Wonne
Hi,

I posted this on the forum, but apparently it didn't make it though to the
mailing-list...

Is it possible to use the war's META-INF/context.xml to override the default session
manager configuration?

I tried to disable this session serialization, which occurs on undeployment, but was
unsuccessful with these configurations in META-INF/context.xml:

Context override=true
  Manager className=org.apache.catalina.session.StandardManager pathname=/
/Context

Context override=true
  Manager className=org.apache.catalina.session.PersistentManager
saveOnRestart=false/
/Context

Thanks

What's the best way to make one or more libraries available for all

It seems that the .war and .jar are able to use (client-)libraries from

Title: Deployment sequence of multiple .SARs in .EAR (jboss--3.0.6)

Hi,

What exactly is the ordering rule when an .ear, containing multiple .sar files, is deployed?

We have the following jboss-app.xml:
module
 servicefirstservices.sar/service
/module
module
 servicesecondservices.sar/service
/module
Important detail: the first .sar has to be initialized BEFORE the second one.

When we deployed the .ear on JBoss3.0.3, the deployment occured in the right sequence.
But when we try JBoss3.0.6 the first .sar is always deployed AFTER the second one, regardless of the order wherein the modules are described in the deployment descriptor.

How can we force the right deployment order of these .sar files?
What are the rules here?

Hello!
I am running Jboss 3.0.4 with bundled Tomcat 4.0.6 on a
Linux Box (RedHat 7.2). I have the service enabled, because I need to
start JBoss automatically when the machine starts.
My problem is related with jmx-console. The service script,
which is under /etc/rc.d/init.d/, uses the jmx-console to Shutdown
JBoss. It doesn't use it directly, but through the class
org.jboss.Shutdown. Once I need jmx-console, I enabled its security, and
now I can't shutdown again.
 If I remove the jmx-console, I can't shutdown JBoss. If I
enable jmx-security, I can't shutdown JBoss also.
Is it possible to change the service script to Shutdown
JBoss on a different way? How? Is it possible to pass jmx-console
username/password to the script, how?
I would prefer the first solution (remove the jmx-console). Any help for
this newbie question would be appreciated.

 Thanks in advance,
 Victor Batista

Great tool!

But there's one thing missing:
Not all jars from jboss.home/lib and jboss.home/server/jboss.server/lib are in the classpath when running and building a JBuilder project.

Kinda disturbing, since they still have to be added to the project in order to compile and changed whenever the JBoss version (and it's libraries) changes...

If this could be fixed, the opentool would be just 'perfect'! ;o)

Is it possible/allowed to deploy a login-config.xml from a .SAR or .EAR file, instead of modifying the global JBoss login-config.xml?

you can do :

if you are LoginContext explicitely to get authentication you
can do :

LoginContext lc = new LoginContext(my-context);
lc.login(); // authenticate here
lc.getSubject().getPrincipals();
(used in forums application)

otherwise :

SecurityAssociation.getSubject().getPrincipals()

that will give you all the Principal filled by
the login modules during the commit phase of the authentication
protocol.

I am using custom JAAS loginmodule for both my web and ejb container,

Hi,

I want to deploy my JAAS login configuration together with my application.
I took the code from org.jboss.test.security.service.SecurityService to create a new MBean, configured by a SAR, which also contains the login-config.xml.

Deployment works well, but there seems to be a problem with RE-deployment.
After I adjust some model-options in the XML configuration, changes in the login config are not active when I redeploy the SAR (EAR), but I have to restart the JBoss server.

Also, during debug I noticed that the initialize method on my login module is not invoked after redeployment.

Any tips?

Subject: Re: [JBoss-user] Scoped deployment

This now works in both 3.0 and 3.1 (HEAD) branches.

Include a jboss-app.xml next to your application.xml looking like this:

jboss-app

loader-repositoryjboss.test.cts:loader=cts-cmp2v2.ear/loader-reposito
ry
!--you can also include .sar or *-service.xml in your .ear with
something like this:
 module
 serviceversantjca-service.xml/service
 /module
 module
 serviceadmintools.sar/service
 /module
--
/jboss-app

The loader repository object name determines the scope; all packages
that
should share a classloader namespace should have the same
loader-repository. In the 3.1 branch this feature is implemented in a
way
that is easy to extend to other package types such as .sar, but if you
just
want to use it, put the .sar in an ear as shown above.

Is it also possible to use scoped .SARs?

[JBoss-user] Running different versions of a webapp

2002-07-09 Thread Keysers, Wonne
Title: Running different versions of a webapp

Hi,

What's the best way for running different version of the same webapp on 1 JBoss server?
Same question for running different versions of EJBs, but I think JNDI can help us out there, right?

Any tips and/or tricks?

Thanks a lot!

[JBoss-user] ThreadLocal variable in custom MBean

2002-06-03 Thread Keysers, Wonne
Title: ThreadLocal variable in custom MBean

Hi,

Imagine that I want to create a new custom MBean, which keeps track of some kind of session information of a specific thread. (For data distribution purposes, but that's not important for now I guess)

Is it possible to use a ThreadLocal instance to achieve this?
What will happen with the transaction information of that thread (ThreadInfo inside the TxManager)?

Thanks in advance for any tips
