But the tck does. Is there anything in the api that requires java 8? I'll propose that the tck for 3.2 requires java 8. The tck for 3.1 already requires java 6. Note that I could not find anywhere in the JDO spec that defines the JRE required for use of JDO. DN 4.2 supports all features of JDO.next prior to the time types, and allows java7+. DN 5.0 is proposed to use java8 minimum to match JDO.next requiring java8.
