[Jmol-users] isosurfaceData as JVXL string
What's the correct syntax to get from JSmol applet the isosurface data as JVXL string in javascript? I guess that some variation of Jmol.getPropertyAsJavaObject(jmolApplet0, isosurfaceData) could do. [Jmol-users] iPad reserved term
One of my tutorials which does not involve jmol and has run for many years on all sorts of computerist and OS's, fails to run correctly on the iPad. I have tested it one early and late models and versions of iOS. I was looking at the code this week to try to figure out why and narrowed the issue down to a declared global array which was not being read. My son and I then tried to figure out why — clearly read on anything but an iPad on which it returns “undefined. On a whim he changed the name of the array and all dependencies; things worked. The array was originally named: orientation[ ]. It appears that the term “orientation” is reserved by iOS for a 90° rotation of the device. Insert an alert using orientation into your javascript and see what happens. Since we are concerned about molecular orientations, this is a warning to not use that term as a variable name in javascript, unless you mean it:-) Philip Bays Emeritus Professor of Chemistry Saint Mary's College Notre Dame, IN 46556 pb...@saintmarys.edu -- Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business. [Jmol-users] Will unsigned applet be blocked soon?
When running the unsigned Jmol applet under Java 1.7.0_45, I have seen a red notice that in future, unsigned applets will not be allowed. FirstGlance in Jmol is currently using the unsigned Jmol applet 13.0.15. To avoid having FirstGlance in Jmol stop working in a forthcoming Java update, should I configure it to use only the signed Jmol applet? And would that need to be signed Jmol applet 14.0 in order to be properly signed? Thanks, Eric -- Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business.
