This works to fix the window decoration break.
One thing that does not get fixed though is the text in Application Launcher.
This happens exactly at the same time the window decorations break.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi

Application: konsole (15.08.0)

Qt Version: 5.4.2
Operating System: Linux 4.2.0-34-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 15.10

-- Information about the crash:
Opened Konsole. Did "tmux -2 attach". Typed a command and pressed enter.
Crashed as soon as "enter" pressed.

This happens maybe 10% of the time. Always on the first "enter" after
attaching tmux.

On a side note, Konsole crashes every time I close my laptop lid because of
QTBUG-42985. That's why I have to restart and "tmux -2 attach" so often.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361437] startkde -> startplasmacompositor -> startkde = "blackscreen"

2016-04-06 Thread James via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361437

I've now upgraded to 5.6.2.
Something I've noticed:

Prior to the upgrade, and continuing after the upgrade, I have now gotten kde
into some mode where, independent of startplasmacompositor, kactivitymanagerd
always segfaults on kde exit, and plasmashell fails to start on startx with
startkde. But interestingly, there is a difference before and after running
startplasmacompositor.

Before running startplasmacompositor, I can open a terminal and run plasmashell
manually, and it seems to act normally. After running startplasmacompositor,
plasmashell still does not start automatically, but when I start it manually,
it complains about a now missing kglobalaccel5, and, though it will run, it
appears not to do anything, leaving the desktop black and unresponsive. So
there is some effect on plasmashell, before and after running
startplasmacompositor.

Killling "systemd --user", then logging out and logging in, still restores the
working plasmashell behaviour.

There's not button to "open" in kwin.

Assuming you're referring to a segfault of kwin (the WM crashes and the
titlebars are gone) you'll likely face bug #358369
The answer to this is to run "kcmshell5 kwindecoration" and select the breeze
decoration, but to know for sure, we'd need to see a backtrace.

No idea about the other things you mentioned, but please do not stack different
bugs together.

Im using the kwin configuration double-click to minimize a window. Just after
the upgrade to Plasma 5.6, Qt5.6 and Framework 5.20 it dont work anymore.
Sometimes i need 3 clicks, sometimes i can click 1000times without an effect
and sometimes i need to click once, wait a secound and then the double-click
works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. systemsettings > window management > titlebar actions > double-click:
minimize > apply
2. doubleclick on the window titlebars of some apps

Actual Results:
it mostly dont work with 2 clicks

Expected Results:
it should work with 2 clicks again

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345473
or

After playing games in Manjaro, I get black borders and screen flickering and
distortion. Hitting turning off compositing with Alt+Shift+F12 gets rid of the
problem, but it comes right back when I turn it back on. Session must be
totally exited and restarted before it will return to normal. Happens on either
Steam or non-steam games.

I'm running Manjaro 15.12 with the 2016-03-30 update, KDE 5.6.1, and the Linux
4.4.6-1 kernel. This particular problem was not present until this update.

Bug ID: 361476
Summary: First letters in search box removed - need to type
again
   Product: muon
   Version: 5.5.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: alex.thie...@openmailbox.org
CC: echidna...@kubuntu.org, sit...@kde.org

When I try to launch a search in Muon Discover, I type the name, but after the
first letter, the page change to the results page and the content of the
textbox is removed.
Because of that, I need to type the name of the software once again.
It shouldn't be removed from the textbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Begin typing a software name (first letter is enough)
2. The result page loads and the letter is removed

Actual Results:
After I enter the 1st letter, the page change to the results.
The 1st letter disappear so that I need to enter it again once the results page
is loaded.

Expected Results:
I should be able to continue typing the following letters of the software.

when trying to assign to entry
   Product: korganizer

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: korganizer-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: bobbobb...@yahoo.com

When I try to assign an already created category to an event, the next time I
check manage categories it has made a duplicate category. It also will not
display the category colour.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new category for an event
2. Apply the category and close the event window
3. Go to manage categories or reopen event and click the button next to the
category.

Actual Results:
Duplicated category.

Expected Results:
Should just list the categories that I have already added, not create
duplicates

[plasmashell] [Bug 341143] Wallpaper on every desktop is gone.

2016-04-06 Thread linuxfluesterer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341143

Just to remind of the outragous features of KDE 4.x, where selective virtual
desktops and also monitors can be configured:
https://www.linux.com/learn/how-use-kde-plasma-desktop-pro . Here a quote of:
...
"A multi-monitor bliss
Plasma is bliss for those with multiple monitor setups. Plasma gives each
monitor a personality of its own - which is quite limited on other DEs. You can
give each monitor a different wallpaper (you can actually set different
wallpapers for virtual desktops and activities as well.) Each monitor can have
its own desktop layout and panels. The widgets on these panels and desktops can
be configured differently which means, if you work with clients who are in
different time zones, you can change the time of each desktop to that
particular time-zone.
**No other DE, in my knowledge, is capable of doing that.**

Panels and widgets
Two core components of the Plasma desktop experience are panels and widgets
which enhance the user experience.

To access the extra features of the panel, click on the cashew icon on the
right hand side of each panel and then configure it. I don't really know why
they use 'cashew', a gear icon may be more appropriate so a user gets a hint of
what it does.

If you want to add more panels, just right-click on the empty desktop and
choose 'add panel' from the context menu.

KDE’s widgets take the customization of the desktop to the next level. These
widgets allow you to access information quickly on the desktop, as well as on
the panel. These widgets, embedded on panel are not mere icons to open that app
- they work like the widgets you have seen on Android.

Widgets can also be added to the desktop - the way you do with Android.
Depending on the distro, a Plasma desktop comes with a set of widgets, but you
can always install more widgets which are being developed by the community. I
installed a couple of widgets such as Play Control (which allows me to control
the music player), RSS reader, Weather, etc. Go ahead, explore and you will
find something new.
..."

So, to emphasise, what were the very special of KDE 4.1x, and what is the lack
of Plasma 5(.6), these Plasma featues really matter. (-> see )

Hi Jan Grulich, this only happen with plasma-nm, I took some screenshot for
others plasmoids (see attachment), all plasmoid have a good size in contrast to
plasma-nm. In fact, the networmanager item of icon tray named "Networks
(automatic load)" in Extra items (similar to plasma-nm) has a good size!. Then
I think that the problem is only with plasma-nm

   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.13
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: jens.kuesp...@gmx.de

When I have an event in an ical-file with an ATTENDEE containing an
email-address which ist configured for one of the identities, the event does
not show up in the calendar.

If the email is slightly change, everything's fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
The enclosed files ical01.ics and ical02.ics show this problem. To reproduce
the error, the mails habe to be changed to one of the identities. ical01 should
contain the correct mail-address, ical02 the changed one.

Actual Results:
The event from ical01 isn't shown.

Expected Results:
It should show up.

Are you sure you don't have multiple versions of KDevelop installed? This looks
like an ABI issue, backtrace indicates you're loading plugins from an older
install.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361449] Panel from second monitor goes to first if second monitor is chenged

I have similar problems with two monitors. I have a Laptop with an external
monitor. When I plugin the monitor the panel jumps to the external monitor even
thought the internal LCD is configured as the main screen. This happens even
after resetting configuration (by deleting configs), on a freshly installed
system and can not be fixed in the settings by setting the external monitor as
main and then back the LCD as main. The panel stays on the external monitor and
I have to create a new one for the LCD. Unfortunately this happens every time.
I am running Kubuntu, at the moment the Beta of 16:04, but the problem was the
same with 15:10

The crashing when using a custom project profile appears to be fixed. Thanks
JB!

When working with that particular clip I referenced, the sync is still off.
However, this is the only video file I've tested with this issue. It probably
would be a good idea to test it with other 4K UHD footage.

[digikam] [Bug 361467] New: indicate (shade?) drop target when copying or moving images

2016-04-06 Thread Jens B . Benecke via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361467

Bug ID: 361467
Summary: indicate (shade?) drop target when copying or moving
images
   Product: digikam
   Version: 4.14.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums View
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: jens-bugs.kde@spamfreemail.de

A small usability issue:

When dropping a list of images onto an album / tag / ... and using small album
icons (16x16), it is not often easy to see which the drop target is - depending
on the mouse cursor and icon size.

During a drop operation (while the mouse button is still pressed) the drop
target (e.g. album name) currently below the mouse cursor should be shaded (or
otherwise highlighted).

Is this maybe possible for 5.x?

Reproducible: Always

[user-manager] [Bug 361460] avatar change does no effect in sddm login manager

2016-04-06 Thread Rex Dieter via KDE Bugzilla

Rex Dieter changed:

 CC||rdie...@math.unl.edu

I've found this can depend on your distro's default permissions for $HOME. In
short, sddm (unprivledged) needs to have read access to your $HOME/.face
