André you report it as plasma, but in fact you have to use dolphin.
This has nothing to do with plasma, and will stay in limbo for century :-)

[plasmashell] [Bug 374065] New: Device Notifier hijacks application focus

2016-12-22 Thread Daniel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374065

Bug ID: 374065
Summary: Device Notifier hijacks application focus
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Device Notifier
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mayazcherq...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

The USB port on my phone (Nexus 5) is relatively loose, so just a tiny little
jiggle will cause it to disconnect and reconnect to the computer.

Every single time, while I'm working, and this happens, the "Device Notifier"
plasmoid pops up and completely causes the application I was using (Qt Creator)
to lose focus and focuses instead on the plasmoid. It is especially annoying
when I'm trying to type, as I have to dismiss / minimise the plasmoid and
refocus back to whatever it is that I was doing.

Reading package lists... Done

discover is already the newest version (2.1.2-7ubuntu1).

So 16.4.1 is not a current versionbut an old broken one that needs to be
updated.very nice

[plasmashell] [Bug 371991] Multi monitor setup crashes [ShellCorona::screenForContainment]

2016-12-22 Thread Jason Van Wynsberg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371991

--- Comment #30 from Jason Van Wynsberg ---
I tried to do a little testing on this. Hopefully it helps. At least in my
case, this is what I found:
This seems to occur in my case when the primary monitor is disconnected. I
think in the case of folks closing their laptop lid, it's being treated as the
same. If the primary monitor is the laptop, I can freely disconnect and
reconnect the monitor without issue.
This does indeed still occur with a brand new clean user account.
This also seems to reset wallpaper settings if you are using slideshow mode.

Right now, all decorations you can download with the "Get New Decorations..."
button are Aurorae themes. When other decoration engines (smaragd, dekorator)
are installed, you can choose which decorations you are downloading. I hope to
have them ported for Plasma 5.9.

Works fine here, could you be a bit more precise of what is the problem you get
other than saying "it's no longer possible", saves for some time of me having
to ask you to be precise.

Also "Export as Document Archive" is as old as it gets, and has nothing to do
with this.

[Breeze] [Bug 374057] New: Breeze Gimp Theme

2016-12-22 Thread Hyoga
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374057

Bug ID: 374057
   Summary: Breeze Gimp Theme
   Product: Breeze
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: hyoga...@yahoo.fr
  Target Milestone: ---

I was looking at a Breeze icon theme for Gimp and stumbled upon this G+ thread:
https://plus.google.com/104737390849732945317/posts/3ptTH9CxqdZ?sfc=true

I don't know if any progress has been made since then, but here is what I can
say.

I think Gimp is a major software and the lack of integration makes feel Breeze
as incomplete.

For what I know, it is possible to create custom themes for Gimp.
1) Edit > Preferences > Theme is the place where the user can select a custom
theme.
2) Themes created for 2.8 won't work under 2.10, so maybe it would be a good
idea to focus on the latter.
3) There are several themes for Gimp, with custom icons, that can be a good
starting point at least to understand the logic. For instance:
https://github.com/draekko/gimp-cc-themes

Breeze is an amazing suite of themes, it would be nice if it could encompass
Gimp.

Good news about this feature.

digiKam 5.4.0 will use QtAV as video framework instead QT5Multimedia.
In background ffmpeg codec are used, and AGif are supported de fact.
So playing Animated Gif in preview will be easy. We just need to route preview
mode to media player for AGif instead to open it as a simple image.

Same problem in Gwenview 16.04.3 on Ubuntu 16.04 with Plasma 5.8.4.

I also noticed that the button icons on the toolbar and on the sidebar are also
pixilated. Seems like this app does not yet support scaling.

Why this bug is still unconfirmed? What info is needed to confirm the problem
exists?

[kmail2] [Bug 374054] New: System tray doesn't display the number of unread messages anymore

2016-12-22 Thread Samuel Gilbert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374054

Bug ID: 374054
Summary: System tray doesn't display the number of unread
messages anymore
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: samuel.gilb...@usherbrooke.ca
  Target Milestone: ---

Kmail used to be able to display the number of unread messages on the system
tray icon. This is no longer the case. In version 5.4.0, the icon is only
displayed if there is at least one unread message. There is no indication of
the number of unread messages.

This is a regression compared to previous versions. From the other bugs
reports, it is clear that there is no "one size fits all" solution. The
behaviour of the system tray must be customized with the options. This was the
case in the past.

kmail 5.4
This is happening fairly often and when you close kmail it sometimes crashes
akonadiserver and/or you get lots of these messages
org.kde.pim.akonadicore: Got a stale notification for an item which was already
removed. 40802 ""
org.kde.pim.akonadicore: Got a stale notification for an item which was already
removed. 40802 ""
You can use akonadiconsole and stop / start the server and it sometimes allows
kmail to work again.

Hello David,

yes, what is described in 373131 sounds very much like the problem I see.
Sorry that I overlooked that bug when I posted and thanks for your hint.

[kalarm] [Bug 373848] Indicator not showing in Ubuntu Unity 16.10 (4:16.04.3-0ubuntu2)

2016-12-22 Thread David Jarvie
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373848

The question is whether Unity provides an option to display hidden system tray
icons. If it does, you can use that to see the icon.

Alternatively, you can use KAlarm's configuration dialog to show the icon at
all times. Go to the menu option Settings -> Configure KAlarm. Then select the
View page, General tab, and choose "Always show" under "Show in system tray".

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373948

I disagree on both analysis (driver and gnome-shell)

I have another nvidia card which is GTX580 (my current card is GTX960)
Here is the test I made:
I removed my GTX960 and installed GTX580
login to kde - works !!!
logout, shutdown, replace cards back to original.
login again to KDE - works !!!

So I'm writing to you now from firefox on kde plasma, fc 25 - with a card which
previously was not able to load kde.

My guess - once the first login occurred (with the GTX580), "something" was set
in place.

About the gnome-shell issue - the problem is re-login. you can login for the
first time. but you can't re-login if you logout. Had it been a driver issue,
most probably the first login would have failed.

QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in

--- Comment #15 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com ---
digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb
and play video. The Slideshow tool will also support video/audio as well.

QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in
OSX, Windows and Linux bundles that digiKam team provide.

For Linux packagers, you will need to turn on video support at compilation time
and solve QtAV dependencies...

I currently recompile all the bundle under Yosemite with a backward

I think it is due to the fact, that getVarint32PtrFallback
(src/codecs/coding.cpp) can return a NULL, but neither getVarint32Ptr
(src/codecs/coding.h) or getDifferentialVarInt32 (src/codecs/coding.cpp), that
call it directly and indirectly, handles it.

Relevant pieces of code:
src/codecs/coding.h:
 : inline char* getVarint32Ptr(char* p, char* limit, quint32* value)
 : ...
 : if (p < limit) {
 : quint32 result = *(reinterpret_cast(p));
//<<< 'p' can be NULL
 : ...
 : return getVarint32PtrFallback(p, limit, value); //<<<
getVarint32PtrFallback can return NULL

src/codecs/coding.cpp:
 : char* getDifferentialVarInt32(char* p, char* limit, QVector*
values)
 : ...
 : while (p < limit && size) {
 : quint32 n;
 : p = getVarint32Ptr(p, limit, ); //<<< getVarint32Ptr can return
NULL
 : ...

 : char* getVarint32PtrFallback(char* p, char* limit, quint32* value)
 : ...
 : return NULL;

This rather sounds like bug#371863 (and its duplicates), which should be fixed
in 16.12.0.

Btw, regarding *this* bug, somebody proposed a patch, which I can confirm is
fixing the problems with the '-e' parameter:

Hi,

Yes... I know -- it's a problem in Qt, our development platform, that we cannot
influence. It should be reported to https://bugreports.qt.io

[QtCurve] [Bug 374046] New: GCC address sanitizer-enabled apps crash with QtCurve

2016-12-22 Thread Eugene Shalygin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374046

Bug ID: 374046
Summary: GCC address sanitizer-enabled apps crash with QtCurve
   Product: QtCurve
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: qt5
  Assignee: yyc1...@gmail.com
  Reporter: eugene.shalygin+bugzilla@gmail.com
CC: h...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When an application is compiled with -fsanitize=address, it crashes on startup.
Below is a part of stacktrace. Unfortunately, the qtcurve part is not decoded.
I'm on Gentoo, qtcurve installed with debug CXXFLAGS, splitdebug and
installsources features enabled, but no good stacktrace :(

I do not like an out of sync visual representation with actual behavior. For
this reason I propose to select an item only on mouse move or click.

[krunner] [Bug 374044] New: Krunner initially selects item under mouse cursor and not the top item

2016-12-22 Thread Till Schäfer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374044

Bug ID: 374044
Summary: Krunner initially selects item under mouse cursor and
not the top item
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.8.4
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: till2.schae...@uni-dortmund.de
  Target Milestone: ---

When calling krunner from a shortcut, typing some search term and pressing
enter one expects to execute/open the top found item. However, if the mouse
cursor is positioned in the area of krunner before calling the shortcut, the
item below the mouse cursor is selected. This also happens if the mouse is
never moved.

This behavior has led to many false selections using krunner (and i needed some
time to figure out why something else was started than I expected).

I propose to select an item only on mouse move or click.

[krita] [Bug 373821] Crash when edditing text, also text button are not displayed

2016-12-22 Thread Rafal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373821

Because i am working with commission right now, i do not want to mess with
different versions of Krita (just in case) I will patiently wait for next
stable release. I will probably avoid text tool's options until new one will be
implemented.
