[plasmashell] [Bug 374276] New: Have to log-out and log back in to apply icon theme.

2016-12-28 Thread mzs . 112000
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374276

Bug ID: 374276
Summary: Have to log-out and log back in to apply icon theme.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: mzs.112...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When I set a new icon theme, very few of the icons actually change.
In order to fully apply the icon theme, I have to log out of my session, and
log back in. This is not a showstopper, however it is an annoyance. And it
makes it tedious to change your icon theme.

Steps to reproduce:
1.) Download a new icon theme with GHNS(or manually if you like)
2.) Go to your icon settings, and appy the theme(or one thats already on your
system, anything will work)
3.) Wait for it to "apply"
4.) See that only a few icons have changed.
5.) Log out of your session.
6.) Log back in to your session.
7.) You should see that all of the icons have now applied.

What happens:
The icons do not apply until you have logged out, and then logged back in.

What should happen:
You should see the icons apply soon after you select them and apply them,
without having to log out, and log back in.

[krunner] [Bug 374275] New: Unit converter does not follow locale for currency

2016-12-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374275

Bug ID: 374275
Summary: Unit converter does not follow locale for currency
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: converter
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When you try to convert a currency, the currency converter should also suggest
conversion to the local currency. Right now, it suggests EUR, GBP, CAD and JPY
if I type '1 USD'. However, in System Settings, I have chosen my region as
'India'. I would expect one of the suggested conversions to be the local
currency (INR).

This is the desktop file settings that fixes the issue

So the run as other user box is checked by default, which leads to the gross
theme.

My fresh install desktop running Gentoo and my phone cannot see each other.
kdeconnect version 1.0.3. Phone is ping-reachable.

The desktop and my laptop can see each other in kdeconnect, and my laptop and
my phone can see each other. Laptop was running kdeconnect 1.0.1.
I upgraded the laptop version to 1.0.3 and it is still working.

netstat outputs look identical. The two computers are set up nearly identical.
No ufw. Ports are open as far as I can tell.

[KScreen] [Bug 372557] Plasma/XRandR detects not existing monitor

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372557

Just adding 3 cents.
Reported by here issue disappeared after update to Plasma 5.8.5, so maybe
driver i915 in Linux kernel didn't work incorrectly :/.

Before update (Plasma) I had to use kernel 4.8.6 or 4.4.x series to avoid
reported issue and now 4.8.13 works fine :).
After back to 4.8.13, and restart the system, configuration file of kscreen
wasn't update with not existing display, and Plasma showed correct desktop.

There is a way to reposition the window:

Bug 336816 - Krunner can be moved using alt+leftclick

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336816

The only problem is that this position does not get saved when the krunner

I am not sure I understand exactly how to reproduce this. Is it the
following:
Select a picture with multiple already tagged faces on it. Look at it in
"Preview" mode with "Show Face Tags" activated. Then you see all names
of people on the picture below every face tag area?
If this is the case, I can't reproduce this issue. I only see the one
name assigned to the specific face area.

Hello, I have the same issue on neon-useredition-20161222-1018-amd64. Command
"apt autoremove" removed some important applications, and I cant boot to my
LUKS encrypted LVM partition anymore, boot is always ending in initramfs
without prompt for LUKS password.

Unfortunately lvm2 package installation doesn't helped, and I don't remembre
which packages was removed exactly. Anyway, nVidia proprietary driver was
installed before autoremove.

Status: UNCONFIRMED

screenshot showing the behavior

I have an auto-hiding panel at the top of my screen. It appears when I hit the
top edge with my mouse pointer. However, sometimes only its border appears and
not its content. I cannot consistently reproduce it, but when it happens, it
usually does so a couple of times before the panel content appear again.

FWIW: i915 graphics.

Indeed, I've checked with the current version in the kile-git package in Arch
Linux (which should be a reasonably recent version) and the bug seems to have
been fixed. (The bug is present in 2.1.3, which is the official stable package
in Arch, though). Thanks a lot.

DiSEqC v2.0 currently is not supported. The problem here starts with the Kernel
drivers, as very few ones support DiSEqC read operations, with would be
required for v2.0 auto-discovery. They may work using v1.3, though, depending
on the type of DiSEqC switch you're using (e. g. if it is compatible with the
"standard" v1.3 way to select the satellite/LO).

If you record something like 60 seconds of the *full* MPEG-TS using "dvbv5-zap
-P", I can use a signal generator to try to reproduce the issue.

This is a common bug on Kaffeine versions below 2.0, related to libxine.

Kaffeine version 1.3 uses libVlc instead.

Unfortunately, we don't maintain Kaffeine 1.x upstream anymore, as there are
simply too many changes from 1.x to 2.x versions. Please upgrade to a new
version.

I applied some patches today meant to fix Kaffeine. Unfortunately, there's a
bug also at libdvbv5. So, you need to update libdvbv5 too, from upstream, in

Maybe a broken video driver, then. On a few boards, VLC is not able to rezise
the image. I had this problem in the past using older Kernels. Perhaps a Kernel
upgrade (and get rid of non-free video drivers) would solve it.

I am running into this as well. Okular also lost the ability to set CUPS
printer options, as the print properties "Advanced" tab is now missing. I
wonder if all of these regressions are due to Okular now using the Qt5 print

had to switch to Evince for the time being.

I suspect that this was added to indicate when a program record was disabled
because it conflicts with some other record.

way I can change the defaults is using CUPS directly (localhost:631).

I noticed that CUPS requires me to enter my user name and password to make
these changes, whereas Plasma's printer configuration doesn't ask for my
authentication. Perhaps it should?

[plasma-nm] [Bug 374262] wireless connection drops frequently

2016-12-28 Thread Peter Roots
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374262

sometimes drops within a few minutes of logging on, other times may run for an
hour or so. Sometimes will eventually reconnect but mostly have to disconnect
and reconnect to AP. Sometimes forced to turn off wireless and back on again
before it works. occasionally the only way to get network is to reboot.
sometimes after reconnecting the connection remains for sometime, other times
it drops almost immediately again
I have tried with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections remembered and when one
drops the other tries to start but found suggestion that this can cause a
problem when wireless flaps between the two so have tried with just one or the
other set up. Problem exists on both.
have tried this
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hanipouspilot/rtlwifi
sudo apt update
sudo apt install rtlwifi-new-dkms
but ended up with no wireless connectivity at all
I am using Kubuntu 16.4 and have had the issue for months. Keep hoping an
update will fix but nothing as yet. kernel is 4.4.0-57-generic

It's a problem in kcmshell though, as the scrollbars don't belong into the
individual modules. kcmshell should, just like systemsettings, add these
scrollbars and limit the window size to what fits on the screen minus panel
struts.

I suffer from the same bug. However the proposed patch did not solve the issue.
Neither did disabling the banking plugin.

How can I help to solve the bug. What information would you need therefore?

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 368821] Dolphin Places menu appears on different monitor from the Dolphin app.

2016-12-28 Thread Luticus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368821

Pretty sure no other applications are affected. I've opened kwrite to test
specifically another kde application and the menus: file, edit, etc all work
fine. My web browsers: Firefox, Vivaldi, and Chrome all work. Pidgin and
other GTK menus seem to work fine. In Syestem Settings, the help menu dropdown
works fine. All right click menus appear where they should. Are there any
other specific apps you'd like me to check?

Even in Dolphin all menus seem to work. The overflow menu to the right behaves
correctly, the right click menus are fine, even the breadcrumb drop downs work
just fine. It's literally just the places menu that acts up and only when I
have the 4th monitor enabled. Below I've Illustrated some configurations
showing my monitor layout and various positions for dolphin and it's places
menu:
   [M]
[ ][D][ ]

   [ ]
[D][M][ ]

   [ ]
[ ][M][D]

   [*]
[ ][ ][ ]

A [D] indicates the monitor dolphin is on, a [M] indicates the monitor the menu
appears on, and an [*] indicates where dolphin is behaving correctly (both on
the same monitor and the menu appears in a sane location). As you can see,
dolphin only behaves correctly in the case where it is on the top monitor.
When it is on any of the 3 bottom monitors, it breaks. I think it has to do
with the fact that the top monitor being above the other 3. When dolphin is in
on a monitor that breaks it's places menu (any of the bottom 3, the menu always
appears on the adjacent monitor and on the side of the monitor nearest the one
dolphin is on. For instance if dolphin is on my left monitor then the menu
will appear on the middle monitor but always hugging the left margin/side.

Your test archive seems to be detected properly.

My archive was created from the command line using zip v3.0:
zip test2.zip test2/test

However, a zip archive created with 7zip v16.02 also causes this bug:
7z a test2.zip test2/test

The archives in question seem to be valid. A quick file comparison reveals the
structure is somewhat different for some reason.

I was trying to use the unlimited history option to buffer a very long output,

lseek(78, -2147483536, SEEK_SET)= -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)

write(2, "getHist(...,0,-2147483536): invalid args.\n", 42) = 42

(Additionally, probably Konsole shouldn't flood errors when something fails...)

2016-12-28 Thread Michal Ziabkowski

Indeed, if there is a single folder with more than one file, the archive is
treated as a single folder archive. If however, the folder contains only one
file, it is not.

Another problem is that the configuration option doesn't mention "more than one
top-level folder", but "more than one top-level entry", which covers both files
and folders. At least that's one possible interpretation. So either the string
should be clarified or the behavior changed in line with the description.

The crucial question is why should single file archives be treated differently
than single folder ones? When extracting an archive with a single file inside,
I believe most people wouldn't expect a folder to be created. I understand
this was changed for semantic reasons, but the old behavior made more sense in
my opinion.

I cannot reproduce with single folder archives, "Extraction into subfolder" is

Can you attach a single-folder archive that causes this issue?

IIRC what we changed is that archives with only one file are no longer treated
as single folder archives (because, well, there is no folder).

[krusader] [Bug 374238] Left/Right arrow behavior wrong (brief mode): doesn't navigate columns but changes directory

2016-12-28 Thread Gennady Uraltsev
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374238

I have done some extra investigating.

Apparently the code for handling the key strokes relevant to this question is
in the file
Panel/krview.cpp
while the code relevant to brief view is in
Panel/krinterbriefview.cpp

In particular the code responsible for the classical behavior in brief view
(i.e. navigating columns) starts starting from line 145 of
"Panel/krinterbriefview.cpp" in function
void KrInterBriefView::keyPressEvent(QKeyEvent *e)

but it never gets executed! The code that DOES get executed is in function
bool KrView::handleKeyEventInt(QKeyEvent *e)
starting from line 645 of "Panel/krview.cpp"

I am no expert in programming but may it be that the KrInterBriefView class
should override the function in KrView?
