I asked about the CLI preference at a forum (https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/521603-why-need-CLI-console-to-use-GUI-KMail-Help?p=2803654#post2803654) before I knew it worked in KDE's DE but no one replied. Why isn't KHelpCenter working in whatever GUI desktop environment we happen to be using? Are you getting it in any GUI other than KDE? If not, then this may need an enhancement request somewhere, probably first within KDE to make KHelpCenter compatible with a competitor's GUI. [QtCurve] [Bug 374568] Applications crash when menu bar is accessed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374568 --- Comment #8 from Eugene Shalygin--- (In reply to RJVB from comment #7) > You must have hit a border condition. I disagree. AFAIK, the code shall lead to UB, because we call a virtual function from an object, whose constuctor was not called (HackedMenu). This is what I meant earlier when said that I can't understand how this could work. In support of this version, if I call the method explicitly specifying the class (QMenuBar::event(ev)) it does not crash and under debugger I see that the function is actually called. In the original code, the execution jumps to random location, which I can change by moving HackedMenu declaration around (e.g. moving it out of the function to an anonymous namespace or making it public class). > Please try to debug and obtain a proper backtrace. As such I think the backtrace is correct. It does differ from our expectations, but this is because of UB. [amarok] [Bug 374670] New: AAC transcoding is broken due to deprecated libfaac
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374670 Bug ID: 374670 Summary: AAC transcoding is broken due to deprecated libfaac Product: amarok Version: 2.8.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Transcoding Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org Reporter: rdragonr...@gmail.com CC: ma...@laitl.cz Target Milestone: 2.9 Okay, I am not certain what priority this would fall under, but it is currently broken with no workaround and I would like to use the feature. I have a Nintendo DSi and 3DS that require a form of AAC audio, specifically .m4a. I have attempted to use Amarok to transcode to AAC, but the option is perpetually greyed-out, despite installation of what would seem to be the correct packages. Someone on the Ubuntu forums has discovered the problem, once I asked about it there: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2348624 Specifically, it seems to be this: (Quote) https://cgit.kde.org/amarok.git/tree/src/core/transcoding/formats/TranscodingAacFormat.cpp Okay, so Amarok is looking for ffmpeg to report that it has libfaac encoder available. ffmpeg has deprecated libfaac: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/AAC Sigh... (End Quote) I assume a possible fix would be to use a different transcoder, and fdkaac was mentioned as an alternative that was in use on a different program, so perhaps that will help? I'll be the first to admit I don't really know how to fix it, but I would very much appreciate a working transcoder on here. I am savvy enough to build a working version from source, however. Can you not check if some files are in renaming state from the sort function and update the target of the edit field? [kwin] [Bug 374663] New: Panel edit tooltips interfer with active window
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374663 Bug ID: 374663 Summary: Panel edit tooltips interfer with active window Product: kwin Version: 5.8.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bugs-...@lagiewka.pl Target Milestone: --- When editing a panel and moving mouse around it - tooltips with widget names show. Tooltips closer to the edge make active window to shrink, leaving exact amount of pixels that the tooltips has in width. On mouse out, the window goes back to it's original form. [kwin] [Bug 374662] New: Titlebar cannot be hidden for Wayland windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374662 Bug ID: 374662 Summary: Titlebar cannot be hidden for Wayland windows Product: kwin Version: 5.8.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bugs-...@lagiewka.pl Target Milestone: --- This may not be a bug, more a question regarding changes in Wayland and the Active Window Control plasmoid. https://store.kde.org/p/998910/ This plasmoid is able to hide titlebar of a windows when it's maximized. This is a wonderful integration for me because I can use my top panel to serve as a titlebar when a window is maximized. 1. With Wayland the tiltlebar is not being hidden, whilst X windows behave the same way. I.e. Spotify gets it's titlebar cutoff when maximized, Dolphin doesn't. 2. Pinning a window does not seem to work when pinning with plasmoid's button. Nothing happens when on first Virtual Desktop. Window is taken to first Virtual Desktop when pinning on other VDs. In this case - should the plasmoid's developer adjust for Wayland or can Kwin adopt X11 features that the plasmoid was using? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This was tested on i.e. Wayland info, Dolphin, System settings and couple other programs. Demo: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3ahLC5Mtqw3QktNTVZTc1U5dVE?usp=sharing Also, when I was resizing those pictures in Gwenview, I noticed that the window that opened on `Resize` action was ridiculously small as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Can you reproduce? Would be helpful to know which Collection it is (at least get the collectionId value) that we get an assert for. If it's not a mail search collection, then we could try to debug why KMail got a notification for a non-mail collection. If it's a mail search collection, then we can debug why ETM does not know about it. In the worst case, we can simply handle the situation gracefully and return from ETMPrivate::monitoredItemLinked() early instead of asserting. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
