It can be added KColorSchemeMenu in KXmlGuiWindow, maybe disabled by default,
it can be enabled from any KDE app who is its child.

some news from pulseaudio from freedesktop.org

there is a problem from pa but also from kde.

they say:
***
I believe this is caused by module-device-manager, which KDE uses to manage the
device priorities. It doesn't currently understand ports at all, which means
that it doesn't check whether the currently active port of a source is
unavailable before deciding to use the source.

[krita] [Bug 374674] New: Fill to selected layer

2017-01-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374674

Bug ID: 374674
   Summary: Fill to selected layer
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

I thought of something that would be really useful when it comes to coloring
lineart. In the tool options docker for the fill bucket there's an option to
limit fill to current layer. I'd like to propose another checkbox to limit fill
to selected layers. In this way you can select a layer (or layers) and be able
to fill on a different layer without any other layers being in the way.

I'm sure there could be other potential uses that I haven't thought of before,
but I hope that I explained it well enough!

Specifying either by using directive or writing QMenuBar::event(ev) in
HackedMenu::send(). I.e. when I call non-virtual function, the code works.

[kmail2] [Bug 372973] missing Help handbook

2017-01-06 Thread Nick Levinson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372973

GUI/CLI followup (especially @Burkhard Lueck): Apparently, KHelpCenter is
available but only through a command line interface
(https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/391430-Khelpcenter-for-OpenSuSE-where-do-I-find-it?p=1848523#post1848523)
or the KDE Plasma Workspace (one graphical user interface), not the Gnome or
IceWM desktop environment GUIs. I asked about the CLI preference at a forum
(https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/521603-why-need-CLI-console-to-use-GUI-KMail-Help?p=2803654#post2803654)
before I knew it worked in KDE's DE but no one replied. Why isn't KHelpCenter
working in whatever GUI desktop environment we happen to be using? Are you
getting it in any GUI other than KDE? If not, then this may need an enhancement

icons

I am trying out the 5.4.0 beta on Mac OS X. I want to use the "ShadeOfGray" or
"GrayCard" theme. I went to the Miscellaneous Settings and tried to change the
Icon Theme, but there is no options for a "dark" icon set. The only two
options are "Breeze" and "Use Icon Theme From System". Without the dark icons,
the icons are invisible with these gray themes.

An example is shown in the attachment.

[QtCurve] [Bug 374568] Applications crash when menu bar is accessed

2017-01-06 Thread Eugene Shalygin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374568

(In reply to RJVB from comment #7)

> You must have hit a border condition.

I disagree. AFAIK, the code shall lead to UB, because we call a virtual
function from an object, whose constuctor was not called (HackedMenu). This is
what I meant earlier when said that I can't understand how this could work. In
support of this version, if I call the method explicitly specifying the class
(QMenuBar::event(ev)) it does not crash and under debugger I see that the
function is actually called. In the original code, the execution jumps to
random location, which I can change by moving HackedMenu declaration around
(e.g. moving it out of the function to an anonymous namespace or making it
public class).

> Please try to debug and obtain a proper backtrace.

As such I think the backtrace is correct. It does differ from our expectations,
but this is because of UB.

I just can't understand why does it work in Qt 4 version...

You must have hit a border condition. Please try to debug and obtain a proper
backtrace. Ideally set a breakpoint in HackedMenu::send() or just before
calling it, and then step through the code.

Update: even when QtCurve is compiled without sanitizer, it crashes.
QObject::event() is public in Qt 4.
The following does not crash:

struct HackedMenu: public QMenuBar {
 using QMenuBar::event;
};

if (((HackEvent*)event)->adjust()) {
   ((HackedMenu*)menu)->event(event);
   return true;
}
return false;

And Qt 4 version does not crash.

[amarok] [Bug 374670] New: AAC transcoding is broken due to deprecated libfaac

2017-01-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374670

Bug ID: 374670
Summary: AAC transcoding is broken due to deprecated libfaac
   Product: amarok
   Version: 2.8.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Transcoding
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: rdragonr...@gmail.com
CC: ma...@laitl.cz
  Target Milestone: 2.9

Okay, I am not certain what priority this would fall under, but it is currently
broken with no workaround and I would like to use the feature.

I have a Nintendo DSi and 3DS that require a form of AAC audio, specifically
.m4a. I have attempted to use Amarok to transcode to AAC, but the option is
perpetually greyed-out, despite installation of what would seem to be the
correct packages.

Someone on the Ubuntu forums has discovered the problem, once I asked about it
there:
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2348624
Specifically, it seems to be this:
(Quote)
https://cgit.kde.org/amarok.git/tree/src/core/transcoding/formats/TranscodingAacFormat.cpp

Okay, so Amarok is looking for ffmpeg to report that it has libfaac encoder
available.
ffmpeg has deprecated libfaac: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/AAC

Sigh...
(End Quote)

I assume a possible fix would be to use a different transcoder, and fdkaac was
mentioned as an alternative that was in use on a different program, so perhaps
that will help?

I'll be the first to admit I don't really know how to fix it, but I would very
much appreciate a working transcoder on here. I am savvy enough to build a
working version from source, however.

Thanks!!!

SDDM starts my Wayland session on TTY2.
After I HOT plugged an USB hub (from an external display) I saw for a second
systemd log and then SDDM. Turned out I'm on TTY1. I switched back to TTY2. My
wireless connection was now dropped, but the session seemed to be unchanged.

Dmesg output from the connection moment: https://paste.kde.org/pyibd7a89/ucnfio

After retrying the hot plug, there was no sddm-greeter segfault, but the switch
to TTY1 kept happening.

Such events do not happen on X11. Though I did not try starting X11 session on
TTY2 when SDDM is on TTY1 and I realize this may not be KWin/Wayland related.

This is still true for current dolphin release. Can you not check if some files
are in renaming state from the sort function and update the target of the edit
field?

I don't care about visual/positioning mismatch that much, as long as it's not
renaming the wrong file. For example I have several files with the same name
but different extensions. Triggering this bug causes an OVERWRITE prompt to
appear. If one is not careful, it can result in data loss - already has for me,
which is of course my fault.

We can split the screen into two parts (tiling) by snapping two windows left
and right.

|||

We can give one window a bigger share than the other by resizing both windows,
one after the other.

|||

|--| ||

|--|--|

It would be nice if both windows could be resized at the same time such that
both windows cover all of the screen width.

|||
click^here while holding shift, then move mouse left
|---|-|

|--|--|

|-|---|

This could be triggered by clicking+dragging on the middle border, while shift
is held, or middle clicking on the middle border.

Could also be done vertically, or with a 4 window split when resizing by
clicking at the screen center.

It could also be triggered for windows which aren't snapped to any screen
corner.

The method is still protected in Qt5 from what I saw.

The old version doesn't work with GCC 6's address sanitiser active. If it just
overrides an existing virtual method there should probably be side-effects even
without the sanitiser. Maybe run it through cppcheck and clang's analyser?

2017-01-06 Thread Szymon Łągiewka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374665

Bug ID: 374665
Summary: Logging out is nearly never possible
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs-...@lagiewka.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

When I try to log out of Wayland session, it usually does not end with success.
After I try select logout from shrank leaving dialog (mentioned briefly in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374659), I am not presented with SDDM but
with black screen. At this point only the only things I could do is:
- force shutdown - hold power button
- change tty with ctrl+alt+fx to be greeted with SDDM - no console access

Correct log out happens much less often than the issue mentioned above. I still
have not found a plausible reason for this to be happening both ways...

When editing a panel and moving mouse around it - tooltips with widget names
show. Tooltips closer to the edge make active window to shrink, leaving exact
amount of pixels that the tooltips has in width. On mouse out, the window goes
back to it's original form.

[kwin] [Bug 374662] New: Titlebar cannot be hidden for Wayland windows

2017-01-06 Thread Szymon Łągiewka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374662

Bug ID: 374662
Summary: Titlebar cannot be hidden for Wayland windows
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs-...@lagiewka.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

This may not be a bug, more a question regarding changes in Wayland and the
Active Window Control plasmoid. https://store.kde.org/p/998910/

This plasmoid is able to hide titlebar of a windows when it's maximized. This
is a wonderful integration for me because I can use my top panel to serve as a
titlebar when a window is maximized.

1. With Wayland the tiltlebar is not being hidden, whilst X windows behave the
same way. I.e. Spotify gets it's titlebar cutoff when maximized, Dolphin
doesn't.
2. Pinning a window does not seem to work when pinning with plasmoid's button.
Nothing happens when on first Virtual Desktop. Window is taken to first Virtual
Desktop when pinning on other VDs.

In this case - should the plasmoid's developer adjust for Wayland or can Kwin
adopt X11 features that the plasmoid was using?

   Product: krunner

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Now that there is the shift + return shortcut for activating the secondary
action (see https://phabricator.kde.org/D3971),
the tab key could behave like a down arrow key, which is easier to reach on the
keyboard than the down arrow.

The current behaviour of the tab key depends on whether there is a secondary
action or not, which i find confusing. Holding tab moves with variable speed.

Git commit cb7f4bfe112355c0a48a4be59d1395cda78c1a6e by Wolfgang Rohdewald.
Committed on 06/01/2017 at 22:13.
Pushed by wrohdewald into branch 'Applications/16.12'.

Fix unicode encoding error again.

There may be more bugs like this but I do not really want to spend
much time testing everything - with current master (becoming
Applications/17.04) support for python2 is removed, and many
potential pitfalls with it, so for me this is only legacy code.

So I will just fix things when they come up.

When using the krunner for the first time in a session, it only accepts one

significant.

After something is chosen from krunner output (after only one char...) all next
runs perform well - user can type as many characters as needed.

digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb
and play video/audio. The Slideshow tool will also support video as well.

QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in
OSX, Windows and Linux bundles that digiKam team provide.

For Linux packagers, you will need to turn on video support at compilation time
and solve QtAV dependencies...

digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb
and play video/audio.

Moving to libakonadi, this is a generic problem in Protocol (?), looks like the
the command is not actually a HelloResponse, despite having the type set to
Hello. Possibly the Response bit is not set when sent from the server?

[kwin] [Bug 374659] New: Windows on HiDPI scaled display are small on the first run

2017-01-06 Thread Szymon Łągiewka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374659

Bug ID: 374659
Summary: Windows on HiDPI scaled display are small on the first
run
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs-...@lagiewka.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

This is somehow related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369196
I get the same result on the first showing of Yakuake. I was also able to
reproduce it with MEGAsync when after starting a fresh instance and opening app
window from tray.

Possibly related: most windows that I start are shrank. This was tested on i.e.
Wayland info, Dolphin, System settings and couple other programs.

Demo:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3ahLC5Mtqw3QktNTVZTc1U5dVE?usp=sharing

Also, when I was resizing those pictures in Gwenview, I noticed that the window
that opened on `Resize` action was ridiculously small as well.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373213

This is entirely reproducible by trying to open URLs,

e.g. Ctrl-O 'http://example.org/' -> assert.

In Kate, this opens the returned HTML as a text file.

Workaround: stop Akonadi and remove
~/.config/akonadi/agent_config_akonadi_notes_agent_X_changes.dat.

The problem is caused by the journal file being corrupted. The latest
stable/master has a fix that prevents getting stuck on corrupted files and also
fixes the bug that caused the corruption in the first place.

Looks like mysqld dies on start up. Maybe the database is corrupted? Can happen
if you did the backup while MySQL was running and possibly changing and not
fully flushing all the data files.

> docb@T520:~> /usr/sbin/mysqld

Does the mysqld process return immediately, or does it keep running? If it
returns, then it mean it still crashed.

I would prefer, that the result is copied to the clipboard.
This is more flexible, websearching the result is just one of the things you
can do after the text is in the clipboard.
For example, if you want to do a search with a specific webshortcut, you can
then enter the webshortcut and ctrl + v.

Looks like a search update in a search collection not known to KMail.

Can you reproduce? Would be helpful to know which Collection it is (at least
get the collectionId value) that we get an assert for.

If it's not a mail search collection, then we could try to debug why KMail got
a notification for a non-mail collection. If it's a mail search collection,
then we can debug why ETM does not know about it.

In the worst case, we can simply handle the situation gracefully and return
from ETMPrivate::monitoredItemLinked() early instead of asserting.

[QtCurve] [Bug 374568] Applications crash when menu bar is accessed

2017-01-06 Thread Yichao Yu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374568

That patch looks correct.

IIRC that hack was probably needed since the method was protected. (maybe on
qt4? My internet connection is too terrible before Jan. 10 for me to do a
detail check)

Just curious, why would the old version not work? Is it accidentally defining a
virtual method?
