I switched to a new git mirror source.

valgrind works like a charm with trunk@16292. Thank you very much.

For the record, this patch updates valgrind from 17.01 to the reference SVN
version

Would it take too long to get a new valgrind released? If not, I'll not bother

I've been having a recurring problem for months. I keep several address books
within KAddressBook. Some of these are vCard directories and others are vCard
files.

The vCard directory address books are fine. However, I notice when I try to
show the vCard file address books in KAddressBook that they're empty. I fire up
Dolphin and go to the directory where I store the vCard file. Sure enough, the
size is 0 bytes. The file's destroyed!

Lucky for you guys, I keep regular backups of the files and can dig through my
archives to retrieve them. As soon as I restore that file, I can see all of the
contacts happily back in place when I open KAddressBook but, sure enough, the
next time I go to check it the address book's been wiped again.

Troubleshooting suggestions?

After couple of trying, changing my wacom cintiq 13 HD as main display makes me
can create / open document. Then try to create / open document into my
secondary monitor, krita freeze / not responding. Same as when my wacom cintiq
as secondary display.

The conclusion is, when create / open document at secondary display, krita
freeze / not responding.

I can't caught any log file, sorry

over to a different Plasma Activity.  Then the Plasma Panel dissappears and
reappears along with a DrKonqi notification saying Plasma crashed.

@Jan would there be any chance for Trojita to set up a PPA to solve the Ubuntu
support? If the packages were automatically built by Launchpad then the Debian
vs Ubuntu issues would be solved automatically.

If Trojita has git somewhere it's actually possible to mirror git commits to
Launchpad so that updates are rather seamless. I have used this git mirroring
feature before and it works pretty well.

So I love Krita and have been using it for almost 6 months now. It was all fine
and dandy with the new update (3.2.1); until yesterday... The brush strokes and
zoom functions will not react unless I click another button on the task bar on
top, as you can probably guess this has been nothing but tedious and has me all
up in my anxious angst due to quick coming deadlines. I have gotten rid of the
program and re-downloaded to no avail, I have consulted the handbook but that
also got me nowhere. Please if you know how to fix this send me the information
as soon as possible!

As Mark said - the cash is in the main investment account and the securities
are in the sub-accounts.  The total value of the account would be the current
value (shares times price for each security, plus the cash.  Any cash which
currently moves to or from the brokerage account just comes from the investment
account itself.  It might even be reasonable for KMM to keep two separate
accounts internally - the main issue is that the current forced requirement for
a separate brokerage account doesn't match how many folks think of their
investment accounts, and how some investment firms present the account in terms
of statements and balances.

There are several discussions which have gone on regarding changes and
enhancements to investment accounts - and although none of this is likely to be
touched until after the dust settles on the migration to Frameworks, there will
be many inter-related issues to be discussed and addressed.

obvious the sequence number is not getting reset between folders, but the step

Cash and Securities would not be in the same account. Cash would be held in the
Investment account and Securities would continue to be held in the
sub-accounts. Buying shares depletes the cash balance in the parent Investment
account and selling shares increases the cash balance in the parent Investment
account.

The devil is in the details but there does not appear to be anything in the
MyMoney model that would prevent this. Perhaps I am missing something?

On OSX Mavericks testing out the latest alpha build. I noticed that the pan
tool stops working after you start panning. 

Steps to reproduce:
1. hold down space bar and pan a bit on the canvas

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I had put my laptop to sleep by closing the lid. Then I docked the laptop
without opening the lid. After docking, I opened the lid. The screen did not
come on. Most of the times that this happens, I have to force reboot.
Sometimes, when I undock, plasma crashes and the screen comes back on with the
login screen (all apps still running when I login).

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

Note: We don't recommend to build Clang/LLVM with assertions enabled. It
triggers on a lot of issues in our experience, most of them non-fatal for us.

Hi, I can confirm.

Scrollbars also don't work on these (when using my Intuos3):

* The "Windows Decoration" list in the window manager settings
* "Add widgets" list
* Latte dock settings 

Scrollbars in applications (eg, Dolphin, Krita, etc.) work just fine.

A possibly related issue is that I don't get hover effects unless I click in
several places. For instance, in the activities manager and Latte dock.
I also sometimes have to click more than once in the desktop toolbox menu.

Maybe it's a Qt+libinput issue? I've updated libinput recently but it hasn't
changed anything.

Sorry if I wasn't too clear. When opening a file in Dolphin I'd like to have my
extension check some attributes of the file and open a specific program based
on those attributes. Similar to what is done for file types now, but on a
per-file basis.

As far as I know this can't be currently done, is that correct?

The bug is at the beginning at creating / opening file, performance log is
uncaught. This file taken from %TEMP% folder. Dunno this help or not

When creating new document or open document using wacom cintiq 13HD monitor,
krita not responding. This not happened when create new document / open
document at main monitor (krita window at main monitor).

After create / open document from main monitor, then drag krita window into
wacom display, krita can handle when create new / open document.

This bug only appears when open krita, set into wacom display, create / open
document, then crashed / not responding. 

When create / open document at main monitor, drag into wacom display, create /
open document again, krita not crashed.

All driver is updated, tried krita 3.1.0 - 3.1.2, same = crashed.

In CppWriter::writeHeaderAccessorMethodDecl() there is a call to
writeAssociationMethods(c->getCompositions(), permitScope, 
true, INLINE_ASSOCIATION_METHODS, false, c->id(), stream) which deals with
compositions. 
This method generates the File composition in the class Folder *AND* the Folder
pointer in the File class. For generating the composition the parameter
writePointerVar is set to false to avoid generating classname followed by '*'
in the accessor parameter list. Unfortunally writePointerVar = true is required
to generate the classname followed by '*' in the accessor methods to m_folder
in the File class. So with current code either class Folder is uncompilable or
class File is uncompilable.

The program still doesn't work even without the tablet, so it's not the tablets
fault that this is happening. The cursor icon will not show up on screen and
any strokes I make are delayed by at least 15 seconds. The program must have
not been installed properly. What should I do? I already tried uninstalling it
and reinstalling it.

Ok, living without emails for a couple of days becomes difficult. 
Tried some hacks and fixes and got a temporary workaround. The missing symbol
(demangled) is KMime::Types::Mailbox::prettyAddress() from the library
libkf5mime5. From the apt update log it seems that one was updated along with
libkf5messagecore5 but to a much more recent version. So downgrading that
library to before the update seems to fix things. In my case it was the version
16.12.3+p16.04+git20170309.0732-0 so downgrading can be done by e.g.
sudo apt install libkf5mime5=16.12.3+p16.04+git20170309.0732-0

Starting kmail/kontact after that will not result in an immediate crash at
startup anymore. However, this is just a temporary workaround. Still hoping for
the right package update to fix this.

I am trying to use the Nero ACC encoder (version 1.5.4.0) as an external audio
encoder.  I can successfully run it by hand, converting a wav file to an m4a
file, and it produces output in the correct place.  When I try to use it with
k3b, the correct directory for the audio files is created and from the progress
meter, it appears to successfully write the audio files, though in reality
nothing ever shows up in the newly created directory.  There are no error
messages, and if I ask for an m3u file to be created, it does so listing the
non-existent files where they should be.  Using find I am unable to locate the
files anywhere on the computer.

However, in contrast to bug 375813, my "report bug" button in drkonqi is greyed
out. I also reinstalled kde-runtime-data and plasma-workspace (sudu apt install
--reinstall plasma-workspace) but that didn't change anything. In kdebugidalog,
I only have drkonqi listed once. Is it still likely to be a duplicate of bug
375813?

First of all: this bug appears only after my changes (see below).

When starting kdenlive, I get an info windows three times with the following
contents (see attached screenshot; windows differs only by action names):

"There are two actions (Обычный режим (Normal mode), Выделение (Selection
tool)) that want to use the same shortcut (). This is most probably a bug.
Please report it in bugs.kde.org"

This is because I use my own bilingual localisation file.
I was working on script, which makes locales with english language. Idea was
taken from Adobe Premiere Pro interface (I did video showing it:

Brief explanaition of bilingwize script:
Script changes short (one-line) translated messages this way: from "Кденлайв"
to "Кденлайв (kdenlive)"
and long (several-lines) translated messages this way: from this one
 "one\n"
 "two"
to this one:
 "раз\n"
 "два"
 "\n"
 "one\n"
 "two"

And the problem is that after I rebuld translations (using modified kde-l10n
PKGBUILD, I replaced de language with ru-bilingual) and installed it, kdenlive
spits out the aforementioned windows.

What exactly kdenlive dislikes and how to fix it?

When I press the "Get new snippets" button, the Kate Add-on Installer window
appear empty and a message line say in the bottom "Loading of providers from

is working fine and I can reach this URL manually, then I think the problem
(which repeat everytime I try to press the "Get new snippets" button) comes
from Kate or from some background Windows feature when Kate is working... I am
new in Windows, then if you need more details you can join me by mail and I
will try to help as i can. (BTW, thanks to have ported Kate toward Windoze...
my main Linux computer is dead, then I must suffer and use the gaming Windoze
computer for the moment and it would be harder without my few Linux tools
installed on -Kate, Gimp and DigiKam-)...

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I activated a secondary monitor by changing my display settings through the
settings menu (bug is reproducable with xrandr as well). That causes my monitor
to scan through each input. However whenever my Acer monitor finds an input
with a signal, it is always recognised by the operating system as quickly being
unplugged and plugged in. Other DEs don't mind. They change the primary monitor
for a short period of time and then switch back to normal. But plasma doesn't
like the switching.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Fun fact: KDE's proprietary power management system allows a distinction
between "keep screen on" (video playback) and "just keep the machine on" (audio
playback). Chrome does that on Gnome, even, but on Plasma it just uses the FDO
interface which only knows all or nothing. I did file a wishlist entry about
that against Chrome but it has not yet been resolved.

Interesting idea. Might be tricky, though, as the process that created the
inhibition and/or the application name it tells me does not neccessarily
correspond with a window on the system.

Also, depending on the type of inhibition I would want it to say on, e.g. a
copy process should keep the device on even if I'm doing something else or am
idle.

A scenario: I'm listening to music from YouTube
playing in Chromium while writing some code on
my battery-only laptop. I leave my laptop for a
little while and when I come back, the backlight
is still full on and the music is still playing.

It made me realize that while I was gone, the screen
could have turned itself off while the music could
keep playing like normal.

In other words, if an application is inhibiting
the power management and thus preventing the laptop
to go to sleep, it could at least let the screen
turn itself off when the inhibiting app isn't the
current active app. If I'm listening to music and
the app is not in the foreground (ie. I am not
watching it on the screen), then it should be ok
to turn the screen off in the predefined timeout
during inactivity but still prevent going to sleep.

This would allow for a nice battery-saving media
playback with Plasma.

TL;DR - if the PM-inhibiting app is not the current
active app on screen (ie. it's in the background
and/or minimized), let the screen be turned off like
normal during inactivity, but still prevent sleep.

I think you can file this one under the "It's Intel's fault" category.

I was experimenting with the modesetting driver but it didn'twork for me, and
when I went back to intel's driver I forgot to put back UXA as the AccelMethod.

Once I did that, my system became much more stable and I think kwin never
crashed again after that.

ok, so clearly it was just waiting for me to post after what I thought was

As investment companies around the world do this differently, it should not be
mandatory in kmm to create a separate account for cash. Here in Canada, the
brokerage accounts offered by all the major banks (TD, Scotia Bank, RBC, CIBC
and BMO) have cash and securities in a single trading account.

Thank you. That option seems to have prevented the black screen issue; however
KRDC still closes the connection very frequently (every 15-30 minutes). So I
still think KRDC is more sensitive than xfreerdp is; and that may need to be
looked into. With that option and behaviour documented I think this can be
confirmed and closed. Were the logs any help in determining when the screen is
completely blank and say just calling drop cache automatically?

Hi all

I wish to make a plot from two different data files using only the y columns (y
vs y plot). In order to make myself clear:

I use the command prompt to load the data from two different files and make the
x- and y- vectors as follows: i wish to use the 2nd column from the first file
as x-vector, and the 2nd column of the second file as the y-vector.
Following the instructions i write:

kst data1.txt -x 2 data2.txt -y 2

However i don't get the desired. I get a y-vs-y both vectors from the same file
(straight line). It seems that the program ignores one of the two files,
although is stated clearly in the documentation that it should work:

If I move a window to my second monitor (both 4k same screens). The window
panels (places, location bar etc) register clicks but not in the file listing.
I can use the keyboard to move around but the mouse clicks do nothing - right
or left click. If I then move the window back to my primary screen it works
instantly.

Clicked on Thunderbird to read a message reporting that I had just reported
this same kind of bug on my desktop.  This bug occurs on both my laptop and
desktop at random intervals and it's occurance cannot be predicted.  Screen
blinks and crash report icon appears in task bar.  KWIN may or may not work
after the crash.  Both computers are AMD processors running Leap 42.2.

I think you're mixing up stuff.
You cannot count apples (e.g. dollars) and peanuts (e.g. facebook stock) in one
and the same account.
I think separate accounts for counting one and the another is the only way.
How do you think logic of your desired account should look like?

Thanks for the info. I know KWin is very configurable, can I configure it in
the way I need? It open new windows in center of first screen, if they are
'user specified', can I override this somehow? Really, many many apps do this,
even if the main window located on another screen. Maybe I can define some rule
for all apps that have 'user specified' position... I can't believe Kwin can't
do this. I even found 'focus stealing prevention' when I needed this, and it
was surprise for me that such setting exist.

Please stop reporting this issue. You already reported the same issue a few
times.

To workaround the issue switch the window decoration to the default breeze. Do
not use any other decoration, they all will result in this crash. This is not
an issue in our code, but in a library we use. There is nothing we can do about
it, thus your crash reports are not helping us.

No you need to create another attribs array with the new values from the nvidia
spec and do another glXCreateContextAttribsARB dance.

The part you did is the other side, though maybe not required.
