[tellico] [Bug 378331] tellico crashes on save with images in data file

2017-04-08 Thread Bruce Anderson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378331

Unfortunately Tumbleweed does not have the debug packages for tellico so
no help there. The steps I used to recreate the problem were:

1) Load the data file
2) Add a new item
3) Select "Configure Tellico" from the "Settings" menu
Note: Image Storage Options is set to "Store images in common
application directory" even though the images were previously stored in
the data file.
4) Check the "Store images in data file" box and click Apply.
5) A dialog box pops up saying something like, some of the images are
not stored in data file, do you want to save and I clicked Yes

At this point the file starts saving and continues to completion (i.e.
shows 100% in the progress bar) at which point the application crashes.
Restarting the application, all of the items are present including the
item added in step 2. Going into the configure dialog, it is back set
to "Store images in common application directory".

In hopes of getting some additional debug information, I downloaded the
source and compiled it and tried the same set of steps and fortunately
or unfortunately, I'm not sure which, it did not crash this time. Also
starting the Tumbleweed supplied application, the confituration now
shows "Store images in data file" and saving the file works fine without
crashing (although I didn't need to change the image storage location
because it was already set to what I wanted).

My suspicion is that the crash occurs while saving the changed
configuration file but I don't have any proof of this. It's probably
not significant but I have the environment variables KDEHOME,
XDG_CONFIG_HOME, and XDG_DATA_HOME all set to non-default directories.

The good news in this is that the problem does not appear to be in the
code as compiling from source works just fine so it must be a problem
with the Tumbleweed compilation. And from my point of view, now that
the storage location is set to what I want it to be, even the Tumbleweed
version works fine so I don't have to stick with source version and can
continue getting updates.

Thanks,
Bruce Anderson

Group not editable

This only seems to happen when I drawing at a 6k to 8 k range for print. krita
gets really funky and does weird stuff all the time operating at this level
which makes it crash all the time as well considering of 32 gigs of ram and a
GTX 960

Also it seems to happen when I have multiple windows open for Krita for scripts
breakdowns and reference.

an option to open the current document in a new view would be awesome so you
could mirror it and view its mirrored version update in real time.

to be honest, I am not sure if I am really pushing Krita's boundaries because I
am operating at such a high print resolution. I am using animations as pages in
a book conceptually so each new frame i like turning the page

Thanks guys

[tellico] [Bug 378331] tellico crashes on save with images in data file

2017-04-08 Thread Robby Stephenson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378331

I'm having trouble re-producing this. Does it crash right after you change the
setting or after closing the config dialog and saving the data file?

Do you know if Tumbleweed has debug packages for including the backtrace from
Tellico? Right now, the backtrace just shows a few items from the underlying
KDE and Qt libraries, which makes it hard to tell where in Tellico the crash is
occurring

I can't confirm at the moment - everything shows up properly for me. I wonder
if there's a problem with the Ubuntu packaging possibly? I'm not sure where the
default installation on Ubuntu is. Can you check to see if there's a
/usr/share/tellico/pics/star_on.png file, for example?

If you run from the command line, is there any output that might seem to be
relevant?

[kmail2] [Bug 377499] Find Messages not working unless Last Search folder deleted

2017-04-08 Thread John White
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377499

I think this whole thing about "last search" and.changing name of that folder
is leading everyone on a wild goose chase. Doing anything with or to the last
search folder doesn't help one bit. "Find messages" on my stretch machine just
doesn't work.I created a new user and tried it there. Same problem, i.e. "Find
Messages" instantly finds nothing. I am the laughing stock of the windows
users in my office because of this problem, which is wrecking havoc with my
practice. I can sort of search in Dolphin but that is a pain.

[Discover] [Bug 378568] New: Annoying (and seemingly unnecessary) KWallet popup on start

2017-04-08 Thread Matthew Trescott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378568

Bug ID: 378568
Summary: Annoying (and seemingly unnecessary) KWallet popup on
start
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

(Moving from #278036)

Every time I open up Discover, a KWallet prompt comes up. I'm not using
kwallet-pam. I'm not sure the point of this—polkit seems to be configured to
allow me to install packages with Discover without a sudo prompt.

[Discover] [Bug 378567] New: No scrollbars in software list

2017-04-08 Thread Matthew Trescott

Bug ID: 378567
Summary: No scrollbars in software list
   Product: Discover

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

(Moving from #278036)

Discover lacks scrollbars on the left side of the screen. The only way to
scroll is with a scrollwheel. Not particularly important, but inconsistent with
other KDE Applications.

[Discover] [Bug 378566] New: "Tasks" dialog cannot be closed by clicking on the left panel

2017-04-08 Thread Matthew Trescott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378566

Bug ID: 378566
Summary: "Tasks" dialog cannot be closed by clicking on the
left panel
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

(Moving from #278036)

When clicking on "Tasks", the only possible way to close the dialog is to click
in the grayed-out application listing area. Clicking on the left-hand panel
does not close the dialog. I personally think progress indicators should not be
shown in a dialog at all (it gives the impression that you have to wait for
installation to complete before doing anything else) and should be in a
separate pane accessible from the left panel. However this is a minor issue.

[Discover] [Bug 378565] New: Confusing "installing" menu item

2017-04-08 Thread Matthew Trescott

When Discover is installing a package, the "installed" menu item on the left
panel changes to "installing", but clicking on it displays installed
applications rather than applications in the process of being installed.

I do not think this is the same bug. I've reported here that Sonnet adds region
names without there being one in the aff and dic file names.

That does not mean your bug does not have merit. I agree it does, a multi-level
selection "language > region > variant" or "language > region/variant" would
make things far more manageable. I'd suggest that you open a new bug and report
its number here.

1 minute stream rip

The attached ogg is captured by using streamripper on public ogg streams.

It contains 1 minute of music, but amarok believes it's much longer, making
accurate positioning in the file difficult. It is only an example; other files
show the problem (a 80 minute rip is claimed to have a length of 62 hours).

Other players (audacity, deadbeef, audacious) don't have this problem.

  Reporter: scottpetro...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I just saw that the "smart patch" tool landed in master. I did a bit of
testing. Functionally it seems to work pretty well. Here are some minor tweaks
to make it fit in better with the rest of the application:

1. The tool options calls it "InPaint Tool". that should probably be removed
2. The tool options also has a fixed width so the contents don't scale at all.
3. When hovering over the tool, the shortcut tooltip is some weird symbol that
doesn't look English

Usability comment...
1. Is the patch radius in pixels? we probably add a suffix to that input field
if it is.

Occasionally I was getting corrupted image data with the results, but I
couldn't reproduce it after a while. Something to look out for maybe in the
future.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378556

Bug ID: 378556

  Platform: unspecified

  Target Milestone: ---

Hi,

running KDE neon User Edition here (installed from
neon-useredition-current.iso).

As far as I can tell, there should be an app called "Update Manager", see
following screenshot:
https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P1qUTBh9Qac/VxEr62zv1nI/E8g/QMYEB2zCu3MxiW1OUja8BeNr9HedxNSBwCLcB/s1600/11%2BSoftware%2BUpdate%2BManager.jpg
(Source:
http://www.distroscreens.com/2016/04/kde-neon-1604-14-04-2016-screenshots.html
)

And according to the following page, apparently it should be provided by the
package "plasma-discover-updater", see:
https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Plasma_Aktualisierungsverwaltung/

Apparently it should be available via Applications -> System -> Update Manager.

But it's not there. According to muon, the status of that package is
"Installed".

However, when trying to start it from the terminal I get:

user@machine:~$ plasma-discover-updater
The program 'plasma-discover-updater' is currently not installed. You can
install it by typing:
sudo apt install plasma-discover-updater

When trying that, I get:

user@machine:~$ sudo apt install plasma-discover-updater
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
plasma-discover-updater is already the newest version
(5.9.4-0neon+16.04+build67).
Starting pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 0
Starting 2 pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 0

Then:

user@machine:~$ plasma-discover-updater
The program 'plasma-discover-updater' is currently not installed. You can
install it by typing:
sudo apt install plasma-discover-updater

What's going on there? Could you please fix it?

2017-04-08 Thread FabiB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378532

I dont think it's a bug but a design choice for all kinds open
OpenGL,DirectX,Vulkan Applications when they run fullscreen and lose the focus.
Not on Linux, but a real standard behavior.

Note: this is for "real fullscreen", not "borderless maximized".

SDL, for example, has a switch for this to run off because it's a default
setting
SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS=1

But now as you mention it: why is the minimized window put to the end of the
list, thats (for me) really unexpected and feels strange

Imported PNG image sequences playback with EXTREMELY poor performance when
composited (tons of frames drop). Creating a preview render does not fix this
issue. Preview renders will still playback poorly as long as the image sequence
is on the timeline.

This does not occur if the image sequence is encoded in a video file container.

1,891GB for ksmserver.

Overall it's not a problem, and i will update this box in few days, but I'm
curious about what could be the cause of this.

Maybe it's related that i use caffeine manually set to disable screen lockdown.
This pc for some time now only shows and records camera feeds from home, it has
12G of ram as it was my previous workstation, but totally wasting it :D

The problem doesn't occure on my new workstation with plasma 5.9.4, but maybe
someone have a few teories why could be the reason :)

Keep up the great work!

[kexi] [Bug 378550] New: Kexi 3.01, inconveniences in forms

2017-04-08 Thread Albrecht Will
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378550

Bug ID: 378550
Summary: Kexi 3.01, inconveniences in forms
   Product: kexi
   Version: 3.0.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Forms
  Assignee: kexi-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: albrecht.w...@online.de
CC: a...@piggz.co.uk, in...@fables.co.za
  Target Milestone: ---

To choose an attribute from a combination-field I must click at least 3 times
before it opens, sometimes more. Then I only see a smaller menu than the number
of attributes are, so I have to scroll in a small menu and must pay attention,
to click the right selection.
Can you make it so, that I have the right selection with only 2 clicks?

[kdenlive] [Bug 378549] New: Blur Effect doesn't render correctly after upgrading to 16.12.3

2017-04-08 Thread John
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378549

Bug ID: 378549
Summary: Blur Effect doesn't render correctly after upgrading
to 16.12.3
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 16.12.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: theofficeintheclo...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 104919
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=104919=edit
Small video showing the effect of the different Blur types once rendered

I was using the Kdenlive version found in the Ubuntu 16.4 (I think version no
was 15. something) repositories when I read about the Library tool available in
later releases, I wanted to use this so I added the PPA and updated to 16.12.3.

After the upgrade I opened a project I had already been working on that used
the Blur effect. Before the upgrade this rendered perfectly.

After the upgrade, I ran a test render of the project and the blur effect
produced lots of weird artefacts in the video including large patches of white,
yellow and depending on the Blur type, darkening of the image and negatives in
part of the image.

The Blur effect is key-framed, starting at about 900 (very blurry) and then
resolving to a value of 0 (no blur) over 3 seconds.

I've re-tested this several times with different video files and the all have
the same result. Tested Webm and MP4 files with On2 VP8 and H.264 video codecs.

Note: if I scrub through the time line the effects display as expected, If I
play the time line I see the same artefacts in the monitor that I see in the
render.

I have tested other blur effects such as Box Blur, These do render as expected
but they to not look as polished as the Blur effect did in the 15.?? version of
Kdenlive.

[kde-cli-tools] [Bug 378548] New: kde-gtk-config is missing from "kcmshell5 --list" output

2017-04-08 Thread Felix Miata
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378548

Bug ID: 378548
Summary: kde-gtk-config is missing from "kcmshell5 --list"
output
   Product: kde-cli-tools
   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: mrma...@earthlink.net
CC: aa...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

"kcmshell5 kde-gtk-config" only works if one can discover it exists. In my
Fedora 26's 5.9.4 kcmshell5 has no man page, so its kde-gtk-config should at
least be discoverable via "kcmshell5 --list", but is not.

[kwin] [Bug 378536] Window title isn't RGB antialiased

2017-04-08 Thread Martin Gräßlin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378536

@Hugo: could it be that antialising is just not enabled on the QPainter KWin
passes to the decoration?

What could be a nice test is to compare how it looks in the kcm.
