I'm getting the same issue, I just updated arch linux, installed KDE, installed
Blogilo, and fought with it for a few hours wondering why the Visual Editor
doesn't respond to keyboard input.

Running it from the console, I see it reports "QLayout: Attempting to add
QLayout "" to QWidget "", which already has a layout", I don't know if that's
related to the issue I'm seeing.

[kdenlive] [Bug 379106] New: Timeline corrupts when moving clips with speed effect

2017-04-22 Thread Luan Almeida
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379106

Bug ID: 379106
Summary: Timeline corrupts when moving clips with speed effect
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: luan...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Quick demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02OwPGp_0so

Timeline gets messed up when I move more than one clip and one of them has the
speed effect

If the project is saved and reopened the clip with the effect just vanishes
from the timeline.

Tested with Kdenlive 17.04 on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04
This problem has happened to me for at least a year, multiple kdenlive
versions, even different distributions. The bug is simply consistent.

This bug is so mind-bogglingly bizarre, I can only recommend that you use the
normal Save As button (click the little arrow beside Save & Exit), instead of

[LabPlot2] [Bug 379104] New: creating a plot or a fit must be improved

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379104

Bug ID: 379104
Summary: creating a plot or a fit must be improved
   Product: LabPlot2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: frontend
  Assignee: alexander.se...@web.de
  Reporter: uwesto...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Take for example the case that you just have to make a fit.

At first how it is done in LabPlot 2.4:
1. create a new worksheet
2. create there an xy-plot
3. add there a xy-curve
4. select there the data
5. go back to xy-plot (very unintuitive)
6. use the menu Analysis -> Data fitting
7. select there the data again
8. do the fit

Now how it is done in MagicPlot:
1. highlight 2 columns of the spreadsheet and right-click
2. select "Create Fit Plot-> Line + Marker"
3. do the fit

This is very quick and intuitive. The plot is automatically created and the fit
window is opened. Since one highlighted columns it is also already clear what
data have to be fitted. If one needs something else, one can of course change
the data source.

I think it is not unfair to use MagicPlot as reference. Its aim is very similar
to LabPlot.

[LabPlot2] [Bug 379101] New: custom fitting fails

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: general
  Assignee: alexander.se...@web.de

  Target Milestone: ---

- install LP 2.4 under Windows
- create a new spreadsheet and fill 2 columns with row numbers
- create a worksheet
- create there an xy-plot
- add there a xy-curve
- use the menu Analysis -> Data fitting in the spreadsheet
- use a custom fit function, for example "exp(a*x)"

result: the "a" is not recognized as fit variable and does therefore not occur
in the parameters list. There I see 2 variables named "c0" and "c1". So one has
to add the "a" there manually and delete the "c" parameters. This is
time-consuming and annoying. (MagicPlot and Origin recognizes the fit
parameters automatically.)
However,

- use for the parameter "a" as start value "1" and press recalculate

result: one gets this:

a = 1±nan (nan %)

but more severe is that the plot is overlayed with an empty fit. So fitting is
just useless because I of course want to see the fit result I the plot.

To clarify, the command:

konsole -e echo "foo" && sleep 3 && echo "bar" && sleep 3 && echo "closing"

was just a simplification of my issue without others having to parse my long
one-liners. The above command will no longer work in a .desktop file, whereas
it would've before. That's my point.

[konsole] [Bug 377412] konsole with -e option doesn't keep the window open anymore

2017-04-22 Thread Michael
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377412

(In reply to Wolfgang Bauer from comment #3)
> PS, this should work like you expect it to, it does here with Konsole 17.04
> at least:
> konsole --noclose -e sh -c 'echo foo && sleep 3 && echo "bar" && sleep 3 &&
> echo "closing"'

Thank you for addressing this issue! Yes, adding the --noclose keeps Konsole
open, but that's a different functionality than what we had before. Allow me to
explain further.

I used to have long, one-liner scripts that were embedded in a .desktop file,
like the one I just attached. A client could click on the .desktop file and it
would create a Konsole window, run the script, log the results inside the
window, and when the script was over, Konsole would disappear. Perfect. Just as
expected.

For example, here's the relevant line that gets executed in a .desktop file
that used to work:

Exec=konsole -e  echo ""  &&  downloads="$HOME/Downloads"  &&  echo
"Waiting..." | toilet --font term --filter border && kdialog
${WINDOWID:+--attach $WINDOWID} --caption ' ' --title ' ' --inputbox "Paste a
Youtube, Vimeo, or virtually any video URL here to get the video:" "URL or
video code" 2>/dev/null > /tmp/yturl && echo "Getting the file name from
online..." | toilet --font term --filter border && { youtube-dl
--get-filename --output "$downloads/%(title)s.%(ext)s" --batch-file /tmp/yturl
>  /tmp/ytpath  &&  thepath="$(cat /tmp/ytpath)"  &&  echo "Downloading the
video..." | toilet --font term --filter border && youtube-dl --batch-file
/tmp/yturl --newline --no-mtime --output "$thepath"  &&  qdbus
org.freedesktop.FileManager1 /org/freedesktop/FileManager1
org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems "$thepath" "1";  }  ||  {  size=$( wc -c
< "/tmp/yturl" )  &&  if [ $size -gt 1 ]; then  kdialog ${WINDOWID:+--attach
$WINDOWID} --caption ' ' --title ' ' --msgbox "Sorry, unable to download “$(cat
/tmp/yturl)”"  2>/dev/null; else  kdialog ${WINDOWID:+--attach $WINDOWID}
--caption ' ' --title ' ' --msgbox "Cancelled."  2>/dev/null;  fi;  }

Now this .desktop file won't work. Konsole has removed needed functionality.

I've attached the .desktop file to play with.

Yes, thank you, that's what I'm alluding to, that there has been a change that
breaks old scripts' behaviours.

If I include --noclose, then that forces konsole to stay open, which is not how
it worked previously: a script would terminate, and konsole would close
afterwards, as expected.

[KBibTeX] [Bug 357440] Please fournish a svg icons file

(In reply to Jonathan Bisson from comment #7)
> Created attachment 100495 [details]
> Breeze-style kbibtex icon

Sorry for my late answer.

I appreciate your effort creating this icon, but I am not (yet) satisfied to
accept it as the new KBibTeX Breeze icon. If you check the examples on
https://community.kde.org/KDE_Visual_Design_Group/HIG/IconDesign
the icon of attachment 100495 is fitting for a mimetype rather than an
application.

Furthermore, due to is square shape, it is harder to recognize as KBibTeX's
icon in comparison to the current icon using stacked books. Maybe it would be a
viable way to 'breeze'ify the current icon?

Maybe either you or I should ask for support and suggestions in the KDE VDG/HIG
Forum?

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Valgrind reports INTERNAL ERROR when a bogus address is passed to
rt_sigsuspend(mask) syscall wrapper.

That's because the syscall wrapper blindly passes mask (ARG1) to
VG_(sigdelset)() which in turn dereferences ARG1. The syscall wrapper needs to
check first if the memory can be safely dereferenced via
ML_(safe_to_deref)(ARG1, sizeof(vki_sigset_t)).

[Spectacle] [Bug 379093] New: Spectacle logs user out of the system when user clicks Export image > Share > Save as

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379093

Bug ID: 379093
Summary: Spectacle logs user out of the system when user clicks
Export image > Share > Save as
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: ruudolfs.strazd...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

User is logged out of the system and sent to SDDM when user takes a rectangular
region screenshot, then clicks Export image > Share > Save as. Sometimes a very
long error message is displayed on windows titled purposeprocess and it reads
"Could not write to /home/rudis/Documents/Skola/Informātika/Tower
defense/tHopQrstU(...)AAAl14id.part" (truncation mine). Sometimes it saves an
image normally.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In spectacle, choose a rectangular region
2. Take a screenshot
3. Click Export image > Share > Save as
4. Choose directory /home/rudis/Documents/Skola/Informātika/Tower defense/
5. Click run
6. Spectacle either logs the user out, displays the very long error, or saves
image normally

I could reproduce this only when I chose the
directory/home/rudis/Documents/Skola/Informātika/Tower defense/ and took a
screenshot of a specific image. Other directories with spaces or non-ASCII
characters in the title worked fine.

Version: Spectacle 17.04 on KDE Neon 5.9

As applications from KDE Applications 17.04 should ship localization now and
not release separate kde-l10n packages Juk should include its localization.
Currently the tarball misses the localization.

We added the localization manually for the Neptune distribution and used this
tarball which is basically (kde upstream tarball + translations from websvn
kdemultimedia + necessary CMakeLists.txt)

My /usr/bin directory has around 2500 files. When I:

1. Open KMail and write a new email.
2. Click "Add attachment" button and open file dialog.
3. Navigate to /usr/bin

Result: the file dialog will hang about 1 minute.

But if I open /usr/bin with Dolphin, it can list files immediately.

Here maybe some bug cause file dialog hang.

I am not sure which component/product this bug belongs to.

kdepim-runtime is compiled with XOAUTH2 support, which produces
libkdexoauth2.so, libkdexoauth2.so.3 and libkdexoauth.so.3.0.0 files. This is a
SASL2 plugin and SASL2 looks only for "*.so" names (without soversion).
kdepim-runtime does not include this file, so SASL2 does not load the XOAUTH2
plugin, which breaks Gmail login for all users.

Most probably affects Dev stable and Dev unstable too.

[Powerdevil] [Bug 378445] kscreenlocker_greet occasionally freezes in malloc in signal handler

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378445

That's not likely what happened here; this most often happens overnight when I
had shut the laptop's lid, and it's not right after I shut it either (I have my
lid set to lock when shut, not suspend).

I wasn't able to induce this behavior. The problem is that the lock sequence
must consist of at least two keys (main key and modifier), and as soon as one
of the keys is touched during the grace period, the screen unlocks.

[konsole] [Bug 373440] konsole --new-tab opens window instead

2017-04-22 Thread Wolfgang Bauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373440

(In reply to kde.bugs from comment #29)
In other words, I need to address the kubuntu
> development if I want to see this fixed in my distribution?

Correct.
There won't be any further 16.12.x releases, and even if they wouldn't turn up
automatically in your distribution.

Your distribution would either need to backport the fix to their package, or
upgrade the package to the latest version where it is fixed.

> As for *this* "--new-tab" bug, no solution yet?

No. The commit in comment 12 was supposed to fix it, but as it turned out it
does not really (that's why this bug report was REOPENED).

It can be "workarounded" by enabling the option "Run all Konsole windows in a
single process" though, that was konsole's (only supported) behavior before
16.12.
Of course that will unfortunately trigger bug#366793 in 16.12 as you noticed...

Hello,
I'm on Manjaro with KDE Plasma 5.9.4. When I try to send an SMS with
indicator-kdeconnect by clicking on "send sms" there is no window that opens.
On the other hand I can perfectly answer an sms in kdeconnect or send an sms
with the terminal and command kdeconnect-cli. An idea ? Thank you and best
regard.

[konsole] [Bug 373440] konsole --new-tab opens window instead

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply

(In reply to Wolfgang Bauer from comment #28)
> Again, this is fixed in 17.04, by the fix for bug#366793.
> And it's totally unrelated to *this* bug report anyway IMHO.

Thanks for a quick reply. Apologies in advance if I get something wrong, I am
"just a user". I wasn't aware of bug#366793, I can now see how it may be
unrelated to *this* bug report. Just to be sure, you are referring to a fix in
17.04 of konsole, so that users like me of kubuntu 17.04 (unfortunate
coincidence in versions...) are stuck with konsole 16.12.3 that still carries
the "-e" bug. In other words, I need to address the kubuntu development if I
want to see this fixed in my distribution?

As for *this* "--new-tab" bug, no solution yet? Or does the commit in comment
#12 fix it and this is captured in a konsose version greater than 16.12.3, so
that again I should address the kubuntu development team? Sorry, not clear to
me how to work out in what version of konsole a specific commit has been
implemented.

Cheers

I have a similar issue with 17.04.0: `htop` showed multiple threads of
`akonadi_imap_resource` running with very high CPU utilisation (50% for several
hours apparently). Then suddenly CPU utilisation spiked to 100% for one thread
and 200% for the process and memory usage started to climb rapidly until the
process was OOM killed after a few minutes at well above 10GiB RAM usage.

[digikam] [Bug 379081] GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty

--- Comment #5 from ulrich.demleh...@gmail.com ---
Quite interesting ...;-)) This Captions/More/Read metadata... process does also
work in v5.5, no need to install v5.6. I now see the geolocation indicator and
the map view shows the location of the picture. But if I use the menubar
Item/Reread metadata... process (which I used to use when trying to came up
with a solution to the problem), nothing happens. I now tried the
Captions/More/Read metadata... process for all files in that very subdirectory
(no file had had shown the geolocation indicator) and everything looks good
now. So obviously the Captions/... and the menubar Item/... processes use two
different pieces of program code?

Can you test with 5.6.0 pre-release installer for Windows :

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM

Note : You need to force digiKam to re-scan image metadata.
Select your image frim icon view, go to "Captions" tab from right side bar,
"More" button, and use right option from menu.

I don't know honestly, I remember that I tried twice to repair them and nothing
changed, then, regarding what you wrote about run it from the command line, at
the moment I'm using the 2.3.9 version to adjust some of the record I made,
when i finish that I'll upgrade to 3.0.1 and I'll try that.

It looks like I can't reproduce this issue. This issue is probably related with

[digikam] [Bug 379081] New: GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty

2017-04-22 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379081

Bug ID: 379081
Summary: GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not
shown and map view empty
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: AlbumsView
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org

Created attachment 105149

Screenshot showing GPS data in a picture but geolocation indicator missing

I have a lot of files with GPS data but DigiKam does not show the geolocation
indicator in album view (it's activated in the configaration settings) and
those picture are not shown in the map view. Please refer to attached
screenshot which appears to indicate that DigiKam did read the GPS data but is
not able to "work" with them. This problem appears to be a "binary" one: it
happens either with all the pictures in a specific subdirectory or with none. I
haven't yet seen it happening only with some files in a subdirectory and not
with others in the same subdirectory.

Thanks for your support!

[kmail2] [Bug 378857] Kmail receive Gmail messages not working

2017-04-22 Thread Daniel Vrátil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378857

Git commit c9ae16363e68d6958db0cd835cb0180b340594b5 by Daniel Vrátil.
Committed on 22/04/2017 at 11:31.
Pushed by dvratil into branch 'Applications/17.04'.

[IMAP] Fix migration to new Gmail authentication

Currently the settings would be migrated only if user opened the
Settings dialog. The GmailPasswordRequester expects that the server
settings is migrated correctly and always tries to authenticate via
XOAUTH2, even if the configuration says "PLAIN" or other mechanism.
This breaks login as we try to send XOAUTH2 tokens as PLAIN credentials.

This change ensures that the encryption and auth mechanism settings
is correctly migrated on resource startup.

Changing Fields Types without the program deleting the entire Table/Database??
I seem to have been able to change the Field Type of my one Field from “Text”
to “Photo” and I can now insert the picture I want and it “sticks” until I
close the DB and re-open it and the photo is no longer there!!

Can not get this to work. Results have no relationship to what is entered.
I am selecting a field by clicking in it and then entering a value into the
Find box. Maybe this is not the right way to use this - if so we need better
instructions or a Pop-Up Box to explain procedure.
