[kstars] [Bug 382778] Problem exiting the program
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382778 --- Comment #13 from Shavarsh--- My reported problems were not associated with the crashes or hanging of the main application general. Instead, the problems were with the plug-in container. The latter never seemed finalized, or it periodically created issues with the status of the installed catalogues. The catalogues frequently appeared installed and then changing the status to "needs to be installed" again whereas in fact they are installed but the plug-in container somehow fails to recognize the fact. Yes, I also encountered problems with the crash of the application on exit but this was by comparison a minor problem. My understanding is the same version of the application is now updated with the modifications entered into the installer build, is it? [okular] [Bug 383396] Okular doesn't remember window size
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383396 --- Comment #3 from HD--- Thank you for replying! I removed the first few "garbage" entries, but that made no difference. What did make a difference was removing the various Height= and Width= entries. Now, the okular window doesn't start maximized anymore, which is good. Same happens when I temporarily remove the okularrc file. It still doesn't remember its previous position and/or size, but I'm not sure whether it's supposed to? I assume that might be the job of kwin? Other programs do remember their position and size. Here's my workaround: k3bdevice.cpp 3241 // Ensure number of descriptors claimed actually fits in the data // returned by the mode sense command. if ((data.size() - 32 - 8) > 0) { if( static_cast( numDesc ) > ((data.size() - 32 - 8) / 4) ) numDesc = (data.size() - 32 - 8) / 4; } cd_wr_speed_performance* wr = (cd_wr_speed_performance*)mm->wr_speed_des; -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 383410] New: Creating both OSD for pointer confinement + lock in short succesion hangs Wayland session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383410 Bug ID: 383410 Summary: Creating both OSD for pointer confinement + lock in short succesion hangs Wayland session Product: kwin Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: subd...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- With https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/hw/xwayland?id=ca17f3e9fd3b59fdc5ffd0e5d78e4db6ddc87aa1 Xwayland gained the functionality to lock a pointer if it is confined + hidden. This is processed by KWin in two consecutive PointerInputRedirection::enablePointerConstraints() calls. One application using this is Neverball in Xwayland mode. When I remove one of the two OSD::show(...) calls in PointerInputRedirection::enablePointerConstraints() it works fine. Otherwise the whole session hangs and can't be used any more. SIGKILL to KWin is necessary. The creation of the OSD also seems to leak memory in general, since the OnScreenNotification object isn't destroyed after it becomes hidden again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[tellico] [Bug 383409] New: Apply filter to group view
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383409 Bug ID: 383409 Summary: Apply filter to group view Product: tellico Version: unspecified Platform: Exherbo Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ro...@periapsis.org Reporter: li...@bernd-steinhauser.de Target Milestone: --- I love tellico. However there is one small thing that I don't like. I do archive old entries to retain the information. So I created a filter which removes entries which are not present any longer (amount>0) which works fine. Unfortunately the entries are still shown in the group tree on the left which can sometimes be misleading. It would be good if the filter would be applied to that as well. I know that there is an additional tab "Filter", but in that I don't have the group separation, which can be very useful. There are ways around this, e.g. create a group that contains the archived entries, but imo it would be better if the filter would just be applied to the group tree as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 383406] New: Should reset read-only buffer flag when saving under a different name
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383406 Bug ID: 383406 Summary: Should reset read-only buffer flag when saving under a different name Product: kate Version: 16.08 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: por...@narod.ru Target Milestone: --- When saving a read-only buffer with "Save as" under another name, the buffer remains read-only after the save. In my opinion, it is pointless to keep read-only flag for a newly created file. After all we have just wrote the file, why should it be read-only after writing? [plasmashell] [Bug 378010] Generic High CPU Usage Rendering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378010 --- Comment #50 from Vetko--- False flag, sorry! :( For some reason yesterday evening after the update (and a restart of course) the problem got solved. But today after boot I experience the same issue as before. I don't know what influences this. Anyway, my current Qt versions vary between 5.9.1-2.1 (e.g. libQt5Core5), 5.9.1-1.1 (e.g. libQt5X11Extras5) and 4.8.7-7.2 (e.g. libqt4), and also some others. I can provide the full list if required. - I would also like to emphasize that I experience heavy component flickering: I interact with a window resulting in state change so gets updated/redrawn but in the next moment it flickers back to the previous state for a few seconds, or it even gets frozen, etc. For example: -- I change windows (taskbar / ALT + Tab), but after a few moments for a few moments the old window gets displayed again. -- Tooltips will flicker or get frozen during animation. -- I delete some characters in a text editor, but for a few moments they get displayed again, etc. - kwin_X11, plasmashell and X (in this order) are using ~20-30% of CPU. - warm laptop openSUSE Tumbleweed (kwin5 version 5.10.4-1.1) on an Acer Aspire R13 R7-372T. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[neon] [Bug 383219] Can't create LUKS encrypted volumes during manual disk setup in KDE Neon and Kubuntu 17.10 (does not affect Ubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, or Ubuntu Budgie)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383219 GizmoChickenchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|UPSTREAM|WAITINGFORINFO --- Comment #4 from GizmoChicken --- “The version [of the installer] used by neon and Kubuntu [has] a different frontend on the same backend...” Yes, I came that realization after my initial posting here. Indeed, as I posted in Comment 17 for Bug #1510731 on Launchpad, “this bug may be in the ubiquity-frontend-kde package,” and NOT in the “ubiquity” package itself. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1510731/comments/17 I updated the bug summary for this report so that it no longer refers to ubiquity. As I mentioned elsewhere, this bug does NOT affect Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu MATE 17.10, Ubuntu Budgie 17.10, or in any of the flavors that use the “ubiquity-frontend-gtk” package. Rather, it seems to affect only KDE neon, Kubuntu, and Lubuntu Next (Qt-based), all of which use the ubiquity-frontend-kde package. So it would seem that the bug resides, at least in part, in the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package, which I presume is maintained by KDE. As I also mentioned in Comment 17 for Bug #1510731 on Launchpad, “[u]nfortunately, the ubiquity-frontend-kde package doesn't seem to have its own bug submission page, but instead relies on bug reports submitted [on Launchpad], for ubiquity. See https://packages.ubuntu.com/artful/ubiquity-frontend-kde ” QUESTIONS: If, as I presume, the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package is indeed maintained by KDE, where is the appropriate place to submit a bug report for that package? Here? Somewhere else on the KDE bug reporting system? Somewhere else on Launchpad? ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I acknowledge that KDE’s frontend is more visually appealing than the frontend used by the gtk-based Ubuntu flavors, including Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu MATE 17.10, and Ubuntu Budgie 17.10. But unfortunately, the changed frontend seems to result in at least one major regression in the overall installation process, namely an inability to create LUKS encrypted volumes during manual disk setup. Looking at Bug #1510731 on Launchpad, this bug seems to have existed in Kubuntu since Kubuntu 15.10, and probably longer. When I first noticed the bug, I was happily using Unity, and so the bug, while interesting, didn’t really affect me. Now, I’m considering switching from vanilla Ubuntu to another Ubuntu flavor, or perhaps to another distribution. If the neon/Kubuntu installer would allow me to easily create LUKS encrypted volumes during manual disk setup, KDE neon and Kubuntu would be my top contenders. In fact, I even created (but haven’t yet published) a short video that demonstrates a little-known feature in KDE Plasma that would be very attractive to my fellow Unity refugees. But without an ability to easily create LUKS encrypted volumes during manual disk setup, I’ll have to look elsewhere. If, as I presume, the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package is indeed maintained by KDE, then I’m not sure whether its development should be considered “upstream” of, or “parallel” to, the development of KDE neon and Kubuntu. But even if the KDE neon and Kubuntu devs consider the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package to be “upstream” of their respective projects, the mere use of the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package (which has regressions compared to the “ubiquity-frontend-gtk” package) in place of the “ubiquity-frontend-gtk” package could, in-and-of-itself, be considered a bug. So with that in mind, I hope that the neon/Kubuntu devs will either: (a) insure that the “ubiquity-frontend-kde” package is fixed upstream (or wherever); or (b) revert to the “ubiquity-frontend-gtk” package, which, although less visually appealing, at least works without regressions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kstars] [Bug 382778] Problem exiting the program
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382778 --- Comment #11 from Csaba Kertész--- Probably it is just misunderstanding, but if I understood right, you enabled some catalogs and then KStars crashed on exit, is not it?
