[krita] [Bug 383112] Crash randomly when using the transform tool and select an other tool.

2017-10-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383112

Can confirm that I get this bug too. It's not necessary to use the select tool
at any stage---clicking the transform tool while on the empty bottom layer of a
new document, moving the layer using the tool, and selecting a new tool
suffices to cause the crash.

My system information for bug reports is pasted below.

[akregator] [Bug 386311] New: Add word-count indicators to articles

Once a feed is selected, it would be nice to have a column displaying "Word
Count", alongside the Title, Author and Date columns.

This will be especially useful when deciding to read long-form articles.

[plasmashell] [Bug 385970] Plasmashell high memory usage when using slideshow for desktop backgrounds

2017-10-28 Thread dale
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385970

To add a little more info. Someone posted elsewhere that maybe it was loading
the wallpaper images into memory for some reason. To test that, I used a
directory that was large enough to see the difference but small enough to also
know if that is what it is doing. I used one that is about 1.6GBs. After a
few hours, it was well past what would be needed to load the wallpapers in
memory plus what plasmashell usually uses by almost 1GB. If it is loading the
wallpapers into memory, it is also doing something else with memory as well.
I'm not sure what.

Also, while on this slideshow topic. Is there a way to tell it not to
randomize the images? I have a lot of images that are designed to be shown as
a slideshow but not in random order. They are made to be shown in sequence.

If I can provide any more info, let me know.

Mine crashes every-time I don't manually 'Quit' the application. If I just
shut-down my machine, the next time I start-up, Akregator tells me it has
crashed, and asks me if I want to 'Restore-session'. Choosing to do so deletes
all my feed. This is a major issue.

I'm using version 5.6.2

Sometimes the timeline video does not display and sometimes there is a still
image of one of the clips in the project bin. When I try to play the video in
the project monitor the video does not play but the audio does. The video in
the clip monitor plays fine.

This happens every time I start Kdenlive. As long as I do not close the
application everything works and the timeline and source video's display
properly.

After inserting stabilized video

kdenlive 17.04.3 in Ubuntu Mate 16.04

My project is HD 1080p 25 fps. I have inserted some horizontally filmed
(landscape) or vertical (portrait) clips, in various resolutions, and they are
inserted OK. However, when I insert a vertical (portrait) clip that have been
stabilized before, and watch it in the Clip Monitor, all the project is forced
to that vertical space that fits into the 1080p video.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add horizontal clip to project
2. Add horizontal clip to timeline
3. Play both clip and timeline to check if video is ok
4. Stabilize vertical clip (Clip jobs - stabilize - vidstab)
5. Add stabilized video to project
6. Play stabilized clip in the Clip Monitor
7. Play video in project monitor. Videos should be stretched or shrinked.

[Breeze] [Bug 386306] New: Request: Add setting to choose menubar colors or to add a separator between menubar and toolbars

One of the few things that I really don't like of the breeze style is that the
menu bar and the toobars are not separated by a line or a different background
color. I think that this makes it look a little messy and unorganized.

This is the main reason I always hide the menubar or use the global menu in the
titlebar.

I was looking for a way to add a separator between menu bar and toolbars or
change the background color of the menu bar, but I didn't find anything in both
the style configuration and color scheme.

[plasmashell] [Bug 385970] Plasmashell high memory usage when using slideshow for desktop backgrounds

2017-10-28 Thread dale
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385970

I'm having the same issue when the slideshow is used. Usually I kill
plasmashell when I'm not going to be around the computer for a while but once I
forgot. It kept increasing until the OOM-killer killed it. I have 16GBs of
memory so it got real hungry. Some info on what I have, using OP as a guide on
what to provide.

Gentoo

If a dev needs more info, let me know.

2017-10-28 Thread Svyataslav Timofeev
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386302

Bug ID: 386302
Summary: Session crash when cursor touching window border
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.11.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: timofeevsv1...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In 5.11 on my Antergos (ArchLinux) I have interesting problem with
plasma-wayland-session:

Everything looks like it works fine, BUT when mouse cursor touching any window
border -- session crashing.

Maybe it:
1) some error in window-resizing behavior,
2) Problem in wayland's cursor-drawing mechanism,
3) mistake in BreezeTheme

I using Open radeonsi drivers with native Mesa (17.2.3) OpenGL (nothing
proprietary)

Radeon HD7870

!!!
5.10.5 Was without this bug.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 380893] Option to index source files

2017-10-28 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380893

Nate Graham changed:

   What|Removed |Added

   Severity|normal |wishlist
Summary|Git repo support|Option to index source
   ||files
 Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

I can see in src/file/fileexcludefilters.cpp that we do explicitly turn off
indexing inside .git folders:

const char* const s_defaultFolderExcludeFilters[] = {
"po",

// VCS
"CVS",
".svn",
".git",

And baloo also doesn't index source files themselves:

const char* const s_sourceCodeMimeTypes[] = {
"text/css",
"text/x-c++src",
"text/x-c++hdr",
"text/x-csrc",
"text/x-chdr", // c header files
"text/x-python",

But any other files in git repos should be indexed. So it's not so much that
it's excluding git repos *per se*, but if you have a git repo that consists
entirely of source files (no images or text files or anything), none of them
are going to get indexed.

I gather from the existence of this bug report that you would like source files
to be indexed, or for there to at least be an option? Shouldn't be too tough to
add a setting to control this.

In the meantime, you can turn indexing on for source files by editing
~/.config/baloofilerc and removing whatever file types you want from the
exclude filters= list

XnView indicates on thumbnails if there are XMP, IPC etc information are
available. It also indicates that geo and face information are available.
That should be shown in digikam that way as well. Their approach looks very
nice and not overloaded you see the most important information at a glance.

The reason why I come up with that digiKam doesn't show the in the jpeg stored
face tag related tags in metadata sidebar although face tag frame is shown and
XnView shows all related metadata.
In addition it would be helpful to verify the tag write process with a third
party tool.

Yup, I can confirm:

Weird that it doesn't work with this particular string, but does work with
another string that's truncated at the end. The much lower execution time
suggests that it's not even looking, or something.

It's seems not possible to bulk change the person tag of recognized faces
easily and confirm all of them.
Currently I mark several pics. On Pictures with wrong tag, I try to hoover the
mouse properly above a thumbnail and hope that the person tag field appears.
Than I type in the name and press enter. That is more fiddling around with the
pics than a quick and easy confirmation of recognized faces, as they disappear
immediately.
As digiKam takes a moment to refresh the collection and thumbnails moving up
and down until all changed photos disappear I've already confirmed some other
face tags accidentally although the tag is wrong.

Is there any possibility to e.g. select faces via the context menu and get them
confirm in the same instant, adding person tag doesn't work that way.
May you can even add a timer what shows up in the process bar what will auto
refresh if some users prefer to see all happening automatically.

[digikam] [Bug 386291] lazy synchronization

2017-10-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386291

--- Comment #2 from stefan.mueller...@gmail.com ---
I've been explained that the database won't be updated until sync button is
pressed.
I don't want the search results (e.g. face recognition) to be updated when I
change/add a property (e.g. person tag).

When I do face recognition and change and/or confirm a recognized face it
disappear immediately from the Unconfirmed collection (same in other
collection). As digiKam takes a moment to refresh the collection and thumbnails
moving up and down until all non relevant photos are disappeared I've already
confirmed some face tags accidentally although the tag is wrong.
Is it possible to prevent auto-refresh and have it be done by the users
themselves?

It is not quite clear which images disappear? What action? The database is
updated immediately. Only the changed metadata will be written into the images
only when the sync button is pressed or when the program was finished.

Hello,

I wanted to test what the Vid. Stab Deshake effect does and here is what
happened:

- I dragged a video clip on the timeline
- I dragged the Vid. Stab Deshake effect from the Effects list to the clip on
the timeline
- Kdenlive crashed: segmentation fault (core dumped) kdenlive

I reproduced the same event every time I tried to apply this effect on a clip.

Lazy synchronization (Settings - Metadata - Behavior tab)
It is supposed that digikam won't sync until you click on the sync icon in the
bottom bar. Digikam is also supposed to sync when you close it.

Is not working, pictures disappear immediately after name is set/confirmed.
Settings - Metadata - Behavior tab -> uncheck Rescan doesn't help either.

Git commit d679b3c9f23d92e4fb7d4b0154b0937402914a79 by Henrik Fehlauer, on
behalf of Alexey Demennikov.
Committed on 28/10/2017 at 19:20.
Pushed by rkflx into branch 'master'.

Set the columns in "Overview" mode to match the amount of pages if document is
small

Summary:

The principle is simple. This patch enables overriding the default columns for
Overview mode, if the document is small. For example, if document has 1 or 2
pages and the default columns in Okular settings is 3, Overview mode will
enable 1 or 2 columns for better UX

[frameworks-qqc2-desktop-style] [Bug 386289] New: QQC2 Causes QtQuickControls 2.2 Slider to fail to load QML with component version error

2017-10-28 Thread Mike

Bug ID: 386289
Summary: QQC2 Causes QtQuickControls 2.2 Slider to fail to load
QML with component version error
   Product: frameworks-qqc2-desktop-style
   Version: 5.39.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: noeero...@gmail.com
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

With QQC2 installed on Tumbleweed, with the latest KF5.39 (factory repo), my
apps (binaries) and plasmoids QML fails to load, specifically referencing my
use of Slider from QtQuickControls 2.2. If I use any properties/signals from
the Slider 2.2, the QML fails to load. If I comment out the 2.2
properties/signals, the QML loads.

If I uninstall the QQC2, the binaries and plasmoids continue loading the QML as
before.

Easy to repro, just make sure QQC2 is installed, add a Slider from
QtQuickControls 2.2, use a property like "live" or a signal like "moved" and
the QML will not load. Remove QQC2 and then try to load the QML Item and it
will work.

former and 9 to the latter.

I can see the following wrong results:

Jack cannot change the settings of the mapping as you can do for normal
accounts in the "Account Edit/Online Settings" tab. Since loan accounts use a
different editor/wizard at this stage, the tab is not accessible. It has
nothing to do with the actual update process.

That is a design problem which we need to fix but probably do not do it for 4.8
anymore.

I can reproduce this bug in Baloo 5.38.0:

$ baloosearch -d. "rating=9" | grep -v "Elapsed:" | wc -l

The output is 9

then I run the following command:

$ baloosearch -d. "rating=10" | grep -v "Elapsed:" | wc -l

The output is 5

So I expect to see 14 for the following command but I see 9 instead:

$ baloosearch -d. "rating>=9" | grep -v "Elapsed:" | wc -l

In other words there is no difference between "=" and ">=" operators.

[kio] [Bug 215283] Problems accessing shares on Microsoft Windows PCs

Many of these issues are caused by KIO not actually mounting the filesystem
locally, which enables all software to interact with files and folders on the
share normally as if they were local files; instead KIO provides transparent
access only to KDE software; LibreOffice doesn't use KIO and so there are
issues of the sort that you name.

Unfortunately this requires either work in all non-KDE software, or else a
major re-architecting of KIO.

In general you don't need to escape characters like that. You can use @ and :
in samba URLs, but you should use forward slashes (/) instead of Windows
backslashes (\).

So a valid Samba URL looks like this:

smb://username[:optional password]@share/optional/path/to/file
