[kwallet-pam] [Bug 395947] New: Using pam_kwallet5.so breaks pam_mkhomedir.so

2018-06-27 Thread Bernard Gray
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395947

Bug ID: 395947
   Summary: Using pam_kwallet5.so breaks pam_mkhomedir.so
   Product: kwallet-pam
   Version: 5.12.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

/etc/pam.d/sddm on k/ubuntu 18.04

Hi folks,
I'm running k/ubuntu 18.04, and using pam to do ldap authenticated logins. As
part of this process, for each user I need to create my default environment
from /etc/skel/

What Happened:
When I login, the home dir is created without the contents of /etc/skel

What I expect to Happen:
When I login, the home dir is created *with* the contents of /etc/skel

How to recreate the problem:
1. Enable the pam_mkhomedir.so according to your platform requirements
 - on ubuntu, I use a config in /usr/share/pam-configs/ and run sudo
pam-auth-update to apply it to the various /etc/pam.d/common-* files
2. Login to an account that doesn't have any home dir created yet
3. Verify that files from /etc/skel/ have not been copied (.bashrc is a really
obvious one)

Extra Investigation Notes:

* This came about because sddm pulls in an /etc/pam.d/sddm config (attached),
which has a couple of pam_kwallet*.so entries.

* This bug report against sddm suggested a workaround which involved removing
all the pam_kwallet*.so entries and adding the pam_mkhomedir entry manually (I
verified this works):
  https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/769

* in order to verify separation from sddm, I load the pam_kwallet5.so in
common-[auth,session] instead of the sddm config. I use a different display
manager (gdm3) and pam_mkhomedir.so fails to run. If I disable the kwallet
entries and login using gdm3, pam_mkhomedir.so runs (in gdm3 it gives you a
status message).

Hello Krita support team,
I also tested version 4.0.4 on my Windows 7 laptop and on this the same message
"tablet support..." appeard. Using the 32 Bit version of 4.0.4 the message
don't appeard.
Anyway I just installed latest 4.1.0 version (64 Bit) on Windows 7 and there is
no message.
So from my side you can close this ticket. Workaround is: "use version 4.1.0".
Thank you very much.

See attached screenshot.

apt won't let me upgrade 100 packages, but Discover will; the held-back
packages are presented normally, and clicking on the Update All button upgrades
them, with unknown consequences (surely there was a reason why they were held
back?).

When Multiple Document Mode is set to "Subwindows", resizing a subwindow by
dragging its frame is now very slow.

Tested with Krita 4.1.0 and krita-4.2.0-pre-alpha-411dc86-x86_64.appimage,
under Manjaro Linux Gnome 17.1.10

Reproduce:
1) Set "Multiple Document Mode" to "Subwindows";
2) Open 2 different documents or Create 2 new documents;
3) Click the "Restore" button on top-right of Krita's workspace;
4) Now all opened documents are displayed as tiles;
5) Drag the boundary of a subwindow to resize it;
6) It's extremely slow.

[kmymoney] [Bug 395912] Number field not wide enough when directly entering transactions into list

2018-06-27 Thread Joshua Christopher
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395912

Created attachment 113615
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113615=edit
Input field clips to smaller than column display

I notice that the numbers display column does expand when the transaction is
entered, but the input field for the number is about one digit smaller than the
display.

To show this, I entered a big number for a transaction (in this case 1234567)
and the number column resizes after entering the transaction. In the next
transaction I type in the number to 1234568, but the input field only displays
the last 6 digits instead of all 7 (the leading digit is clipped in the view
but still there). I'll attach another screen shot here to demonstrate.

This is independent of how wide the KMM window is.

I feel that the input field should be able to show the same number of digits as
the column displays when not editing the transaction, and it looks like it may
be a regression from whenever the screen shot on this page was taken:
https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/extragear-office/kmymoney/details.ledger.direct.html.
I figured it should be reported as a bug due to that (although probably a
rather minor bug).

[plasmashell] [Bug 373742] The shell will not start until I switch to a tty window (ctrl-alt-f2) and then switch back

2018-06-27 Thread Peter C . Trenholme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373742

Sorry, I overlooked this request.

I haven't used that system for several weeks, but, IIRC, the problem was every
time I loaded from a terminal. (I did try it several times before I reported
it.)

I was (again, IIRC) not starting after a VT switch, but from a konsol terminal
running in a KDM window.

On my system, the plasma shell has not started since Fedora 23. KDM runs, and
(since I put Konsole in the .conf/autostart/) I've been mostly running KDE apps
from a terminal. (By the way, I think that problem was because I deleted some
configuration file that the installer ASSUMES to exist. I did several
re-installs and updates since F-23 with no change to that behavior.)

Stylus cursor is not syncing properly. There is noticeable offset gap from

problem is specific to Krita, it does not happen using any other paint
programs. It also only happens when using the style, a regular mouse works
fine in Krita.

I came across someone else having a similar problem as shared on reddit;
however, none of their suggestions have solved the problem.

Correct.

The code renders combining characters with a previous character (as it should
be), but due to a Qt bug combining characters appear above next character.
I'll look if it is possible to do some workaround for shifted combining
characters. If not, rendering character on the right with combining characters
will fix the bug.

[krita] [Bug 395942] New: Request/Wishlist: Please bring back the "Hide Docker Titlebars" option

2018-06-27 Thread Altguard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395942

Bug ID: 395942
Summary: Request/Wishlist: Please bring back the "Hide Docker
Titlebars" option
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: altgu...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When some of the extra docker options were removed for the sake of simplicity,
the option to remove the docker titlebars in the settings dropdown menu was
also removed. Hiding the titlebars gives the dockers themselves a little bit of
extra precious UI space and, more importantly, prevents accidential closing of
some dockers. I quite liked it, and would like to see it return if at all
possible.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: extensions

AdBlock doesn't appear to be filtering out ads from subscriptions at all.
Oftentimes subscriptions display "(Error: Cannot load subscription!)" after
their title either when initially adding them, or after attempting to update
subscriptions. Whether the error is displayed or not though, there appears to
be no filtering happening based on subscriptions; individual custom rules work,
but not subscriptions.

It is caused by the weather applet being used here inside the systemtray popup
container, which has a hardcoded(?) aize. While the weather applet now (>=
Plasma 5.13) assumes it can grow to the size it needs, always trying to show
e.g. all forecast days.

A fix will need to have the applet adapt to the available size in some way.

No idea yet, needs me to sit down some longer time for it.

[gwenview] [Bug 395890] No Error when same Picture name is selected

2018-06-27 Thread Henrik Fehlauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395890

Looked more into this:

- Showing a warning in Browse mode instead of the Rename / Overwrite / Cancel"
dialog worked before, so it is actually a regression, caused by 6ca0b93e6029 in
KIO (according to git blame). Perhaps "setData" in
PreviewItemDelegate::setModelData now needs to be replaced with manual handling
of the renaming, using KIO::moveAs instead of the implicit KIO::rename.

- Showing no warning in View mode is a regression introduced while porting to
Qt 5 (it works fine with a KDE 4 based version, but is already broken with
Gwenview 14.12.0, KIO 5.7.0, KJobWidgets 5.0.0, KCoreAddons 5.0.0 or somewhere
else in KF5). In FileOperations::rename, showErrorMessage() does not seem to
have an effect anymore. As nothing relevant changed in fileoperations.cpp in
that time frame, this is likely a behavioural change in KF5 (either a bug, or
something Gwenview missed to be ported to). To fix the issue, the call can be
removed in exchange for setAutoErrorHandlingEnabled(true). However, the better
dialog from KIO::moveAs might make more sense.

It might be worth checking whether the better dialog for renames in both View
and Browse mode can be implemented in a single place, e.g. in
FileOpsContextManagerItem::rename.

[ark] [Bug 395939] New: Ark keeps destination path open after extraction, preventing removable storage unmount

2018-06-27 Thread James Hemsing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395939

Bug ID: 395939
Summary: Ark keeps destination path open after extraction,
preventing removable storage unmount
   Product: ark
   Version: 17.12.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Reporter: jhems...@gmail.com
CC: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After using ark to extract files to a removable piece of media using the
Extract button in the toolbar, ark keeps the path to that removable media open
(visible in lsof). This prevents unmounting from either Dolphin or command
line. Dolphin does not report who is still using the removable storage, so it
is confusing.

Closing ark remedies the problem, but there have been occasions where I am
copying files from an archive to various removable devices, and it is
frustrating to have to close and reopen a large archive file just to do this.
It seems like the destination directory should be closed when the extraction is
complete.

Probably it's not that bad, here's a poppler patch:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107057
It's sufficient to fix the bug, if approach is valid.

Another related poppler issue would be to support XRef streams, and discovery
of objects inside object streams in XRef::constructXRef. I did some
experiments, partially working, but it's more difficult and I'm not sure if
it's worth the while.

[kdenlive] [Bug 395938] New: Typing and erasing 3d in effects search crashes flatpak Kdenlive 18.04.2

2018-06-27 Thread Brett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395938

Bug ID: 395938
Summary: Typing and erasing 3d in effects search crashes
flatpak Kdenlive 18.04.2
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.04.2
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: daloo...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If I search for 3d under the effects tab in the flatpak'd version of Kdenlive
18.04.2, the effect Hqdn3d shows up. However if I then erase the letter d and
then the number 3 by typing backspace, Kdenlive will crash.

This bug doesn't seem to be present on the 18.04.1 App Image, only the 18.04.2
flatpak.

None of these errors come from Discover; they're the result of old stale .knsrc
files in /etc/xdg that your distro's packaging didn't clean up. We're tracking
the KNS-side fix for that in Bug 395718.

Meanwhile, the only thing we can do on the Discover side is to put in some
logic to silence these particular errors. I'm starting a new bug to track that:
Bug 395937.

Because of Bug 395718, .knsrc files that are removed or renamed, often don't
get properly deleted from users' systems by their distro's packaging. This
eventually leads to errors from invalid links in those files that Discover
dutifully passes along.

We've gotten a *ton* of bug reports about this that are benign but annoying for
our users, and aren't actionable for us. I'd like to propose discarding any
error message ending with the string ".knsrc: All categories missing" so that
we can stop this cycle of madness! :)

Committed on 27/06/2018 at 21:15.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Support choosing .ico files in custom icon file chooser

Summary:
.ico files work fine, so we should allow them to be chosen in the custom icon
file chooser dialog.
FIXED-IN: 5.48

Test Plan:
- Find a .ico file lying around, or turn a .png file into a .ico file using
https://convertico.com/
- Typ to apply it to a folder in Dolphin
- You can select the .ico file in the dialog, and when applied, it appears
correctly as a custom icon for the folder

Dialog screenshot

In *some* KDE applications the 'select file/folder' dialogs is unable to browse
to an external NTFS hard drive. This *has* worked before, and might be a
regression in 5.47.

These programs are affected:
– KBackup (won't recognise drives even upon manual path entry)
– Elisa (will recognise files but cannot read them)
– KTorrent (but successfully reads and writes to drives on manual path entry)

If I *manually* type the path to the drive (e.g., /media/oysteins/Drivename/)
KTorrent and Elisa will recognise the drive. But KBackup reverts to the home
folder.

Tested with an ext4 formatted drive – recognised fine.

Hi, Pavel. There is no reason for that. I think I actually had TLSv1.2 support
for some time, e.g. I made a few commits like

So I think somebody else introduced a regression somewhere.

Hi David,

I understand what you say, and certainly I agree with it, but the point of this
report is to avoid moving the display of the web, not painting over
QWebEngineView. That was no more than a mere assumption from me.

Thus, I don't think "WONTFIX" is the right resolution for this report. It is
yet to be seen if anybody else can come up with an alternative method to solve
this.

I believe this can't be overlooked. With this issue, the fullscreen mode is not
suitable for practical use, in my humble opinion.

Git commit 7c0f85162ee978753e7bbe726455b7388023afb6 by Christoph Feck, on
behalf of Isaac True.
Committed on 27/06/2018 at 20:21.
Pushed by cfeck into branch 'master'.

Implement sorting of the device tree items

This patch fixes the issue of processor numbers not being sorted in
human-readable order.

It overloads the < operator on the SolDevice class to implement sorting by
process number and sorting by storage volume names (as they
should go, e.g.: sda, sda1, sda2...).
