[digikam] [Bug 383715] Presentation tool compilation fails when OpenGL ES is used [patch]

2019-06-02 Thread Maik Qualmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383715

In the near future I will deal more with OpenGL and start with the GLViewer. I
think porting OpenGL in presentation is a nice task for GSoC20.

[kdenlive] [Bug 408081] The track compositing does not work as it should

2019-06-02 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408081

Thanks for your report. There was indeed an error in the "automatic" track
calculation that returned wrong results for the track just above lowest video
track. As a workaround, you can force the lowest composition track to V1
insteadf of automatic and it will work as expected. Fix will be in 19.04.2
released this week.

[ark] [Bug 408233] New: ark cannot drag and drop to pcmanfm-qt

2019-06-02 Thread Walter Lapchynski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408233

Bug ID: 408233
Summary: ark cannot drag and drop to pcmanfm-qt
   Product: ark
   Version: 19.04.1
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Reporter: w...@ubuntu.com
CC: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In LXQt's file manager, pcmanfm-qt, which can also optionally manage the
desktop, it is not possible to drag and drop a file from ark to any pcmanfm-qt
window, a folder therein, or the desktop.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an archive in ark
2. Open a pcmanfm-qt window
3. Drag and drop file from the archive to the pcmanfm-qt window
4. Ensure pcmanfm-qt is in control of the desktop (has to be run with
`pcmanfm-qt --desktop`
5. Drag and drop file from the archive to the desktop

OBSERVED RESULT
Dragging and dropping fails. A general prohibition sign badge appears over the
dragged icon when mousing over the areas managed by pcmanfm-qt.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dragging and dropping succeeds as it does with other archivers such as:
 * engrampa
 * file-roller
 * xarchiver

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Lubuntu 19.10 (development)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0

What seems like a crash on step #2
System settings does not launch on step #3
On step #4:
> Please instantiate the QApplication object first
On step #5:
> Please instantiate the QApplication object first
and no output about the version

[kwin] [Bug 408227] New: Setting Caps Lock as Compose doesn't disable Caps Lock functionality

2019-06-02 Thread David Gow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408227

Bug ID: 408227
Summary: Setting Caps Lock as Compose doesn't disable Caps Lock
functionality
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: da...@davidgow.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When running KDE as a Wayland session, setting "Position of Compose key" to
"Caps Lock" in kcm_keyboard causes the Caps Lock key to work as _both_ Compose
and Caps Lock — pressing it toggles the Caps Lock LED and inverts the case of
characters, but also activates the "dead key" nature of Compose.

Additionally, disabling Caps Lock specifically with "Caps Lock behaviour"→"Caps
Lock is disabled" doesn't seem to work. Setting "Caps Lock is also a Ctrl"
seems to successfully make Caps Lock a Ctrl (in addition to Compose), but this
is still suboptimal.

These all work as expected under X11.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run a Plasma Wayland session.
2. Set "Position of Compose Key" to "Caps Lock" in kcm_keyboard's "Advanced"
tab.
3. Press Caps Lock: the LED will toggle, and Caps Lock mode will activate.

OBSERVED RESULT
Caps Lock is enabled in addition to the Compose key functioning.
Caps Lock cannot be disabled with the "Caps Lock behaviour"→"Caps Lock is
disabled" setting.

EXPECTED RESULT
Setting "Position of Compose Key" to "Caps Lock" disables Caps Lock.
Caps Lock can be disabled with the "Caps Lock is disabled" setting.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

But if it is indeed a bug I can restore it.

Hey! have your tried using ANGLE for the display options? I preferences
activate Canvas acceleration using ANGLE and not OpenGL undir display options.
For windows the rendering engine is recommended to be set to ANGLE as openGL
can give problems.

…one last addition, because I think it would be useful:

The just described first mouse-only clicking segfaulting behaviour to execute
the cell ('Hello' example, or, indeed, any other) in Cantor under Python
segfaults even with my builds from the commit on 31 May. There is no such
behaviour if I execute the cell with Shift+Enter (it starts a normal session
and yields the cell output).

[krita] [Bug 408225] New: Canvas itself becomes transparent with transparent pixels, showing what is behind the Krita window

2019-06-02 Thread Nicholas Killewald
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408225

Bug ID: 408225
Summary: Canvas itself becomes transparent with transparent
pixels, showing what is behind the Krita window
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.0
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: OpenGL Canvas
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: captains...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120509
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120509=edit
Screenshot showing issue; note the desktop visible through the transparent
orange areas

Any pixels that are transparent and show the canvas (that is, show the
checkerboard "transparent" pattern and would have an alpha of less than 1.0 if
ultimately exported) seem to be showing what's behind the Krita window itself.
That is, the desktop (or whatever else is there) becomes visible through the
transparent areas.

I stumbled across this when I noticed the antialiased edges of black Bezier
curve vectors didn't look black on-screen. When I zoomed in, I saw the default
Kubuntu wallpaper peeking out through the enlarged, transparent pixels. I
tried it with other transparencies, and sure enough, they all showed my desktop
behind the transparent areas.

Curiously, if there's no pixel data at all in a given region (or the pixels are
completely transparent), that area is NOT transparent to the desktop, and just
the plain checkerboard is visible.

If I turn off Canvas Graphics Acceleration in the settings, the problem goes
away, leading me to believe this is something to do with OpenGL.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new image.
2. Draw a filled, opaque square by whatever means you wish.
3. Set the layer on which the square is to anything less than 100% Opacity.

OBSERVED RESULT
The desktop is visible through the transparent square and the transparency
checkerboard.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the checkerboard should be visible through the transparent square; the
Krita canvas itself should not be transparent.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04, running Linux 4.15.0-50-generic from Ubuntu
packages
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.47.0
Qt Version: 5.9.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This problem shows up on both my desktop and my laptop. The desktop has a
GeForce GTX 970, and the laptop has the mobile version of same. Both are
running the same version of Kubuntu with the same KDE Plasma, Frameworks,
Krita, and Qt versions.

In the attached screenshot, you can see a diagonal yellow line from the default
Kubuntu 18.04 wallpaper behind the transparent orange area ("Curtains Fore" in
the layer list, currently set to 34% opacity for demonstration), as well as the
icons for Inkscape and GKrellM in a folder widget on the desktop. Areas with
no pixel data just show the checkerboard.

I can swiftly report that the buttons still don't work with the latest code
(the same symptoms). About Python refactoring I may open a new ticket, if
needed, but both the python(s) backend(s) stopped working, seemingly unable to
`import numpy`, which is present and importable. In addition Shift+Enter
doesn't crash Cantor, but clicking on the "triangle" to execute a cell (not
touching a keyboard) leads to a segfault.

I tested the trash plasma widget today.

Observations:

* It doesn't easily line up with the normal icons on my desktop
* Resizing to match the size of the icons didn't go too well
* I can't rename the thing
* It bugs me like hell that for moving the widget I always have to use the
top-right thing on the desktop

So, if you asked me, no widget for me anytime soon.

I've just recompiled Cantor, and the buttons still does'nt work. If I install
the previous version, the buttons work, however. Cleaning the installation is
ensured by the Debian packaging for 100%, and I was only in doubts about the
compilation process, because I'd accidentally interrupted and resumed it;
however, the clean building process says the same, that:

QObject::connect: signal not found in KSelectAction
QObject::connect: signal not found in KToggleAction
QObject::connect: signal not found in QAction
QObject::connect: signal not found in QAction
QObject::connect: signal not found in QAction
…
QObject::connect: signal not found in QDialogButtonBox
QObject::connect: signal not found in QDialogButtonBox
QObject::connect: signal not found in QDialogButtonBox

is related to the latest changes in the code.

I'm seeing some new commits for the Python backend, so, I'll recompile with
those and post here the results.

Any chance you could test with Frameworks 5.59? It was just tagged and should

2019-06-02 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408223

Bug ID: 408223
Summary: Copy current wallpaper to an on-disk cache
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.90
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Currently, wallpapers are accessed from their original paths. This can cause
the wallpaper to disappear and display a black background when the file at the
path disappears, for any of the following plausible reasons:
- The user was using a wallpaper provided by a distro package that's removed in
an update
- The wallpaper was located on an external disk that is unplugged

It might make sense to copy the wallpaper to an on-disk cache location to
prevent the background from turning black when one of these conditions is
encountered.

That's because that particular trash is actually a Desktop file, which is just
a text file that gets interpreted to mimic a trash. So technically, it's
correct for the context menu to show a bunch of file-related actions. However
this is obviously a somewhat odd user experience.

We actually already have a better user experience for "trash-on-the-desktop":
add the "Trashcan" widget to the desktop. This widget has all the same
functionality as well as a more appropriate trash-specific context menu.

Maybe we should have Plasma intelligently sense when a user is trying to add
the trash to the desktop in a way that would create a desktop file for it, and
instead create a new Trashcan widget.

I filled an issue about that some years ago ...

In concrete terms, we cannot print a document using Okular if we need a 1:1
scale.

In other words, a user will get wrong dimensions if it prints a 10 cm square
using Okular.

This issue doesn't happen if we print using the lpr command, but Evince has the
same issue if we don't change the default setting so as to apply any scale
adjustment (i.e. tweak a parameter in a tab ...).

The right way is to implement printing as in Acroread !!!

I see a lot of failed Qt connection. And it's weird.
For example, your BackendChooseDialog don't work because of
```
QObject::connect: signal not found in QDialogButtonBox
QObject::connect: signal not found in QDialogButtonBox
QObject::connect: signal not found in BackendChooseDialog
```
Without this connection (linking buttons and Cantor) the buttons, of cause,
will not working.

This is a bug in the breeze widget style with Qt 5.12; either start Krita with
a different theme, or use 4.2.0 which has that style blacklisted.

[krita] [Bug 408221] New: Filter list does not show text nor resize

2019-06-02 Thread Thiago Sueto
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408221

Bug ID: 408221
Summary: Filter list does not show text nor resize
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: herzensch...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120505
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120505=edit
See how it's impossible to read the contents of the list.

SUMMARY
The filter list that appears on the right side of Layer Type on the Layers
panel shows only one or two letters instead of the whole word.
The attachment should make it clear what I'm referring to.
Resizing or detaching the Layers panel only resizes the Layer Type list, not
filter list.
(In fact I'm not even sure if it's a filter list since I can't read it. I'm
assuming this based on the icon.)

> So it works with "Auto" but not with "Software"?

Exactly. Unfortunately I can't use "Auto" because that causes all sort of
glitches and slowdowns (eg. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347772) with
my setup.

[kdenlive] [Bug 408081] The track compositing does not work as it should

2019-06-02 Thread RafaMar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408081

The problem persists in the latest appimage 19.04.1c and in the Flatpack
version as well. A shame because I was writing some tutorials on how to use the
kdenlive editor as a video composition application to make our own animated
backgrounds for texts, for example, but with this new version it is not
possible despite having a preset to export with transparency ... in version
18.12 I had to create a preset to export with transparency and it works
wonders.
