[kdenlive] [Bug 411484] Speed change on extracted footage renders to white screen

2019-09-03 Thread Evert Vorster
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411484

Hi there!

At the moment the workaround here is to just use the full sized file.

I don't know what kdenlive uses in the background to do the segment extraction,
but it is not creating proper files for editing, and that is what needs to be
fixed.

Surely the proper solution for a problem in a video editor is not to use other
video tools?

There are quite a few GoPro's in the world, and they are not going away. The
GoPros routinely gets used to take action footage, and some of that footage
looks simply awesome in slowmotion. Unfortunately, the way that footage is
recorded on GoPros results in really long, massive files. The extract zone is a
vital feature in dealing with huge files, but if the footage that comes out of
it cannot be slowed down the feature loses a lot of it's appeal.

What it boils down to is that if Kdenlive is wanting to be taken seriously as a
video editor it needs to handle real world footage without issues.

I can provide some footage for you guys for testing, if you want.
Unfortunately, 2.7k @ 100fps footage is huge, even a second's worth is more
than the 4mb file upload limit here.

Kind regards,
Evert

[Spectacle] [Bug 411577] New: Avoid changing width of the delay input box

2019-09-03 Thread Frederick Zhang
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411577

Bug ID: 411577
Summary: Avoid changing width of the delay input box
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 19.08.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: frederick...@tsundere.moe
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The width of the delay input box grows if I click on + when it's 'No Delay'.
This is mildly annoying as for example, if I double click on + to have a 2
seconds' delay, it actually ends up with No Delay since the buttons moved and
the second click hit - button instead.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Spectacle, make sure it's 'No Delay' after launch
2. Click on + button

OBSERVED RESULT
Width of the delay input box grows.

EXPECTED RESULT
Wider delay input box at the beginning so that it doesn't change to fit more
text in when I click +.

Frameworks Version: 5.61.0
Operating System: Linux 5.0.0-27-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 19.04

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Everytime after startup, the desktop background and task manager bar go black
and back. Then a crash notice pops up says plasma-workspace has crashed.
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
It seems to happen when changing wallpaper automatically. I am using win10 and
kubuntu dual boot and store wallpaers in ntfs partitions. This happens almost
everytime after a short period after startup using a single monitor, but
somehow when I use dual monitors it crashes less often. This starts to happen
back to 19.04, and when I tried to report, the crash handler complained no
debug symbols even when I already installed plasma-workspack-dbgsym. Last time
I checked, the debug symbol package is still broken.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

The incorrect path issue was already fixed in
https://cgit.kde.org/kinfocenter.git/commit/?id=6243a402c926ad92f641a1c03f68037f48024f18

I don't see the issue you describe. I can view /var/log/samba/log.smbd without
needing to be the root user.

However you're right that the monitor doesn't actually display any information.
Let's use this bug report to track that--whatever the root cause turns out to
be.

2019-09-03 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411314

Let's shift the conversation from requesting a specific solution (customize the
font, style, color, etc of notifications) to an investigation of the problem,
which is that notifications don't catch your attention enough.

Which notifications are you finding that you're missing? Are they ones that
disappear after a few seconds, or the ones that stay there until dismissed?
Which apps are the ones those notifications you care about most? Etc.

[krita] [Bug 411573] New: Opening and closing a file layer makes canvas area unresponsive in original document

2019-09-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411573

Bug ID: 411573
Summary: Opening and closing a file layer makes canvas area
unresponsive in original document
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.5
  Platform: Other
OS: macOS
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: magolorsoul...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new blank document in Krita.
2. Open an image file as a file layer.
3. Click the folder icon of the file layer in the layer docker to open the file
layer in a new tab/subwindow.
4. Close the file layer tab/subwindow.

OBSERVED RESULT
All tools have no effect in the original document. Freehand brush tool outline
fails to follow mouse movements. Rotating, zooming, panning with the trackpad
does not affect the canvas.

EXPECTED RESULT
Canvas responds to tools and trackpad.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
macOS: 10.14.6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Canvas-only view mode does not fix the problem. Switching to a different
application fixes the problem. Opening any dialog box (e.g. unsaved changes in
file layer doc, preferences, new doc) in Krita that moves focus away from the
document fixes the problem.

[krita] [Bug 411570] New: Lose Zoom Capability

2019-09-03 Thread dory forma
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411570

Bug ID: 411570
   Summary: Lose Zoom Capability
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.5
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dory.fo...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In working on a drawing, if I attempt to use the magnifying glass tool to zoom
in on a detail, it no longer works reliably. If I restart the program it may
work a time or two and then stop working again. I am resorting to using the
mouse wheel to zoom in, the the tool can be handy. This started on the upgrade
to 4.2.5.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start drawing
2. Select the zoom tool and attempt zooming.
3. After some repetitions, zooming using the tool won't work.

OBSERVED RESULT
Zoom tool is dead.

EXPECTED RESULT

Should zoom.

@vlad

xdg_popup menus by protocol definition need to have parent toplevel.

Qt has a "failsafe" that if you create a window of type popup without a parent
it will raise it to be a toplevel to be spec compliant.

Neither of that matters as it's in the wrong position anyway.

We can't do internal hacks as the the menu is shown from kded, because
(pre-wayland irony) we didn't want kwin to turn into a monolith of having all
these things.

Given showing a remote menu is by definition remote, we could move the menu
code into Kwin. Alternatively we could use the plasmashell protocol in kded to
explicitly override decorations and set a position.

Hmm, hard for me to understand your reasoning. Ofc it's up to you but I'd hope

Resizing windows is needlessly difficult and this could help a ton. Also a
pretty logical extension of the paradigm that's already implemented (dragging
the active window).

Ah, I didn't realize you were using Discover from git master, because the
version number on those bug reports said "KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4". The fix
is in Plasma 5.16.5, si if you're really using 5.16.4, you would be hitting the
original issue because you didn't yet have the fix.

If those issues are hitting you when using either git master or Plasma 5.16.5
(since it was just released today), please re-open the bugs in question with a
comment indicating as such. Thanks, and sorry for the confusion!

SUMMARY
when using liquify, performance is lower when i'm zoomed in. maybe this has to
do with accuracy? seems to be unrelated to canvas size, as i tested it with
double resolution and got a similar result.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use liquify
2. use it on different zoom levels

OBSERVED RESULT
further out zoom levels give faster results on liquify strokes in the preview
mode/transformation not applied

EXPECTED RESULT
same processing time per on screen distance of the stroke

[krename] [Bug 411566] New: Krename exiv2 plugin is not enabled

2019-09-03 Thread Vangelis

Bug ID: 411566
Summary: Krename exiv2 plugin is not enabled
   Product: krename

  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general
  Assignee: heire...@exherbo.org
  Reporter: cyberan...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Krename installed in a KDE neon installation doesn't provide access to the
Exiv2 rename plugin. It seems the problem is that the file
`cmake/modules/FindExiv2.cmake` is trying to extract version information from
the file `${EXIV2_INCLUDE_DIR}/exiv2/version.hpp`, but in the latest version of
exiv2 that is shipped again from the kde neon repository the actual version
information is provided by the file `${EXIV2_INCLUDE_DIR}/exiv2/exv_conf.h`.

This bug has been fixed in the upstream krename with this commit:
https://phabricator.kde.org/R758:b22de9135ba2a5abdbd2b275a60933a50f074010

I'm having the same issue with VirtualBox 6.0.10 using the VMSVGA controller.
Since that's a VMWare display adapter, I think it's the same issue.

Arch Linux 5.2.11
Qt 5.13.0
Plasma 5.16.4
Frameworks 5.61.0

To sanity test, I tried installing GNOME and had no issues, so it's not a
driver or OS issue.

I saw some issues with GoPro MP4 files as GoPro has a hardware codec chip to
make the MP4 files (which seems not proper working).

What is coming to my mind is that the start and end frame in the cut MP4 is
missing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_compression_picture_types).

Maybe you can use Handbrake or FFMPEG to solve this issue
https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/how-to-convert-gopro-hevc-videos-to-h-264-using-handbrake.

If it could do that, it would be a security risk since the file would have to
be saved into the home directory of a user whose session is currently locked.
No can do, sorry.

If you want to take a picture of the lock screen, you need to initiate the
process while the screen is still unlocked. You can open Spectacle while the
screen is unlocked, set a 5-second timer, then lock the screen.

I was trying to reply and add the requested file but it seems that you cannot
add a file through the "reply" feature.

Again, Angle was automatically selected and in the krita.log file is attached
to my above comment.

Apologies if this reply was unnecessary, I'm inexperienced with using forums.

I don’t understand. First I reopened this bug because the original reported
issue (including ‘subissues’ #1 and #2) was *not* really fixed. Then you
reclose this bug as ‘fixed’ and tell me to instead file new, *separate* bugs
for #1 and #2. Then I do that exactly that. And then you close these new bug
reports as duplicates of this (‘fixed’) issue. This is really demotivating!

If `cp` doesn't work properly either, then the issue is far deeper in the stack
than anything KDE software can affect--possibly even the hardware itself. But
if `cp` is reporting success when it's actually failing, that's super duper
bad. Consider trying with a different cable or disk to isolate the problem. If
that doesn't help, please file a kernel bug.
