[Breeze] [Bug 430059] New: Flatpaks and apps like Gparted/Grub customizer don't use Breeze-dark theme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430059 Bug ID: 430059 Summary: Flatpaks and apps like Gparted/Grub customizer don't use Breeze-dark theme Product: Breeze Version: 5.20.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: gtk theme Assignee: uhh...@gmail.com Reporter: nigelwestl...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I don't know if this is the right section. But since Breeze-dark doesn't have there own theme anymore and now depends on colors, some other apps (gparted, Flatpaks) don't follow the dark theme anymore. These apps use Breeze light theme, because they don't know the difference between Breeze and Breeze Dark. I fixed the Flatpak using by doing: 1. Open /home/nigel/.config/xsettingsd/xsettingsd.conf file 2. Change Net/ThemeName "Breeze" 3. To Net/ThemeName "Breeze-Dark" After changing that section and autostart xsettingsd Flatpak now follow Breeze-Dark instead of Breeze. I think this should change by default for less techy users. I had the same problem with apps like gparted, because I think they run as root? Fixed this by: 1. Go to /home/nigel/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini 2. Change gtk-theme-name=Breeze 3. To gtk-theme-name=Breeze-Dark This also doesn't get done automatically when I set Breeze-Dark as global theme and GTK Theme in application settings! Summary: Flatpak and Apps like Gparted don't follow Breeze-dark theme, because System Settings GTK says Breeze in stead of Breeze-Dark. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Follow the instructions above. OBSERVED RESULT Flatpaks and Apps like Gparted uses Breeze light theme while I have set theme to Breeze-Dark in System Settings EXPECTED RESULT Flatpak and Gparted and Grub-Customizer to use Breeze-Dark when this is set in System settings in stead of Breeze light SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426354 --- Comment #8 from Claudius Ellsel --- Alright. I also saw the discussion in the MR about this after commenting here. Personally I feel this should be treated differently (but not sure how other file managers like Nautilus or Windows Explorer treat this). https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426354 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- I deliberately decided not to implement that now as it opened a bit of a can of worms in terms of both design and code when I considered it. I also didn't think it was genuinely that important to indicate. Hidden files are not normally things that users need to interact with, so advertising their presence--but only for otherwise empty folders--didn't seem like a very good idea to me. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426354 Claudius Ellsel changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|FIXED |--- CC||claudius.ell...@live.de --- Comment #6 from Claudius Ellsel --- I like the introduced solution. It is one further step towards making Dolphin appear more reliable to users imho. This bug also talks about treating folders with hidden files. How does that currently work with the new system? There doesn't seem to be a message for that case currently and showing "empty folder" would be pretty misleading imho. Thus for now I will reopen this, but am also open to further track this special case in a different bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 360478] Desktop widgets and Folder View icons do not remember their sizes and positions on a per-resolution basis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360478 --- Comment #111 from Alex Barrero --- Relax people! When you say that this bug makes look the project amateurish, it's because it's a community driver project, and although there are some paid devs working on KDE, a lot of people coding are volunteers, with their own lives and main jobs. True that this bug is annoying and can hurt the desktop experience (for me not entirely, because when I moved from windows to linux many years ago, I stopped using desktop as a place to set icons or files, only have two or three plasmoids). So have a little bit of patience and thank the work they do. If there is not enough manpower to fix all bugs, only the most critical receive the attention, and things like this keep in the line to get fixed. So it will be fixed ASAP. Thanks for your work! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 430053] New: Clarify dialogs when removing unused face tags
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430053 Bug ID: 430053 Summary: Clarify dialogs when removing unused face tags Product: digikam Version: 7.2.0 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Faces-Workflow Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: m...@mikemorr.com Target Milestone: --- When removing a face tag that is not assigned to any images, some additional info in the dialog popups would help the user to feel more confident about removing them. In the People view, in the list of tags on the left sidebar, if I right-click on a person's name for which there are 0 assigned photos, and then click "Remove Face Tag", the first dialog asks: "Remove face tag?" I would feel more assured if this dialog included the name of the tag to be removed, for example: "Remove face tag 'Mike'?" If I click "Yes" on that popup, the next popup asks: "Remove the tag corresponding to this face tag from the images?" I find this message somewhat confusing, because there are in fact no images associated with this tag. Perhaps this message, or the previous one, could indicate the exact number of images (0, in this case). Actually, perhaps both dialogs could be replaced with a single one saying something like: "Face tag 'Mike' is associated with 0 images. Remove it?" https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389022 Jonathan Poncelet changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jonathan.ponce...@talk21.co ||m --- Comment #25 from Jonathan Poncelet --- I'd also like to say that I'm experiencing this, and have been since I started using Krita. It's particularly noticeable on brushes like Pencil3_Large_4B, which start on a low opacity. Reproduction steps for me: 1. Start Krita, open blank canvas 2. Select Pencil3_Large_4B as above. Note that the opacity is 15%. 3. Hover the tablet pen over the canvas (no need to draw). The opacity remains at 15%. 4. Flip to hover the eraser over the canvas. The opacity remains at 15% (as far as I can see it should be 100%). 5. Flip back to hover the normal pen tip over the canvas. The pencil's opacity is now 100% instead of the previous 15%, which is definitely wrong and defeats the point of using the pencil tool. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
