I figured out the cause. Somehow, the discord app puts an invisible floating
systray item in the top left. I have no idea how this is even possible.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 453453] New: IPv6 Address field not populated on existing WireGuard entries

2022-05-05 Thread Bruce Anderson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453453

Bug ID: 453453
Summary: IPv6 Address field not populated on existing WireGuard
entries
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.24.4
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: editor
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: banderson19...@san.rr.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Opening an existing WireGuard connection which has an IPv6 method set to
"Manual" and and address specified, no entries are populated in the Address
table on the IPv6 tab of the editor. This makes it impossible to modify the
connection because the "Apply" button never becomes active.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a WireGuard connection which includes a Manually supplied IPv6
address and save it.
2. Exit the configuration applet and start it again.
3. Go to the newly created WireGuard connection.

OBSERVED RESULT
Look at the IPv6 tab and verify that the previously entered address is not in
the table. This also prevents saving any changes due without putting the IPv6
address back in because the entry is not valid.

EXPECTED RESULT
The IPv6 tab should have the previously entered address in the table. Should be
able to save any changes without reentering the address.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSuse tumbleweed
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This works on a very old version (5.16.0) but this isn't something that I try
to do very often so I don't know when it might have failed between then and
now.

[ark] [Bug 453452] New: creating 7zip archive of ~/.mozilla or ~/.thunderbird folder fails

2022-05-05 Thread S. Christian Collins
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453452

Bug ID: 453452
Summary: creating 7zip archive of ~/.mozilla or ~/.thunderbird
folder fails
   Product: ark
   Version: 22.04.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plugins
  Assignee: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Reporter: s_chriscoll...@hotmail.com
CC: aa...@kde.org, elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Attempting to create a 7zip archive of either the ~/.mozilla or ~/.thunderbird
folder results in a successful message popup ("Compressing 155 files
(Finished)"), but the .7z file is never created. This message pops up
immediately as well, which means file processing is actually performed.

If you try to create the archive by manually launching Ark and clicking "Create
New Archive...", when dragging either of the aforementioned folders into Ark,
nothing happens.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure you have launched Firefox or Thunderbird at least once to create
their configuration folders.
2. In Dolphin, right click either ~/.mozilla (for Firefox) or ~/.thunderbird
(for Thunderbird) and select "Compress" -> "Compress to...".
3. When the compression window pops up, choose your preferred filename, select
"7-zip archive" for the type and click OK.

OBSERVED RESULT
A popup says something like "Compressing 155 files (Finished)", but the .7z
file is never created.

EXPECTED RESULT
The .7z file should be created.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: KDE neon 5.24 User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I can reproduce this bug in a KDE neon install within VirtualBox and also using
fresh Thunderbird and/or Firefox profiles.

OS: Android 11.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: jejoxe6...@topyte.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
If a file is being sent to an Android KDE Connect device which does not have
storage permission, then the app only tells that the file receiving failed, no
information regarding why it failed is display.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Send a file to Android KDE Connect device which does not have storage
permission

OBSERVED RESULT
Only a notification saying "Failed receiving file from DEVICE_NAME".

EXPECTED RESULT
If operation failed due to lack of storage permission, then the notification
should say so (i.e. convey that storage permission is unavailable and it has to
be granted from Device > Plugin Settings > Share and Receive > Customise
destination directory & Destination Directory).

[kdeconnect] [Bug 453450] New: Empty file being created even when receive operation fails

2022-05-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453450

Bug ID: 453450
Summary: Empty file being created even when receive operation
fails
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Android
OS: Android 11.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: jejoxe6...@topyte.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
If receive operation fails from the senders side even before any file data is
sent, then the receiver will create an empty file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Grant all storage permission required to receive a file.
2. Send a file such that the receive operation fails due to some reason even
before any bytes are received at the receiver end.
3. Check the folder where the file would have been saved had it been received
correctly

OBSERVED RESULT
File of size 0 bytes is created.

EXPECTED RESULT
No file should be created.
Possible fix is to not call `openFile(...)` inside `if (numFiles == 1 &&
currentNetworkPacket.getBoolean("open", false))` at

[kwin] [Bug 453273] When laptop lid closes, windows on its screen jump to external display; when it is re-opened, windows don't jump back to it

Yeah, I didn't want that to happen. I know my case is pretty non-standard; my
second display is a television screen. I use it for listening to music (mpd) or
watching videos (which I put on the screen either with a script, or by dragging
my browser window over). Mostly I just put a full-screen black image up and use
my TV for music.

Bug ID: 453446
   Summary: localStorage.getItem
   Product: Falkon
   Version: 3.2.0

Created attachment 148594

demo sidebar in falkon browser

SUMMARY
I have a website rendered with mdBook-0.4.18 (static site generator for
documentation). mdbook using
localStorage.getItem to store the item object and display the toc (table of
contents) sidebar.

var html = document.querySelector('html');
var sidebar = 'hidden';
if (document.body.clientWidth >= 1080) {
try { sidebar = localStorage.getItem('mdbook-sidebar'); }
catch(e) { }
sidebar = sidebar || 'visible';
}
html.classList.remove('sidebar-visible');
html.classList.add("sidebar-" + sidebar);

The sidebar appearance is saved when uploaded to https
(panduan.langitketujuh.id), but is not successfully saved when the website is
opened offline. I don't know if this is because it doesn't support it in Falkon
browser or from the mdbook side. I just wanted to report it. Thank you ^^

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. $ git clone https://gitlab.com/langitketujuh/l7-docs #or other mdbook site.
2. $ cd l7-docs/
3. $ mdbook build
4. open docs/html/index.html with falkon browser.
5. enable sidebar.
6. go to next page.
7. sidebar again closes. should still be open.

OBSERVED RESULT
-

EXPECTED RESULT
localStorage.getItem() works properly when the file is offline.

It was last working for me a few weeks ago in 22.12-2, and I'm not sure why it

It's possible it is something local to my system though. Is there a file I

I would also be happy with a work-around that allows me to set scaling from
command line. I am filing this bug because my investigation into "can I poke

If this is something that can be detected or solved programmatically, I'm happy
for suggestions and ideas. I'm equally happy to try patches to kscreen or
submit patches myself. This may be a good opportunity to thaw my dated C++/Qt
skills.

Please let me know if I you need any further info!

[KScreen] [Bug 453445] New: Scaling setting is no longer honored after some time

2022-05-05 Thread Max
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453445

Bug ID: 453445
Summary: Scaling setting is no longer honored after some time
   Product: KScreen
   Version: 5.24.4
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kded
  Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs.kde-max.seif...@drglitch.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I've witnessed screen scaling to behave strange at times. I run a dual-head
setup with HiDPI monitors. The scaling is set to 1.5 in kcm_kscreen.
Applications get scaled fine then.
After using the machine for some time, any new application started is scaled as
if the scaling was set to 1.0.

My current work-around is to then close the application, get back to kscreen
settings, where I see the scaling as 1.5 (the value I want). I set it to
something different → apply. I set it back to 1.5 → apply.
Starting another app will render it correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. See applications scaled correctly as set in kscreen configuration
2. Work for some time
3. Start any new application GUI process

OBSERVED RESULT
The started application is not rendered in configured scaling.

EXPECTED RESULT
The started application is rendered in configured scaling.

I guess you're talking about the "About AppName" action in the Help menu? that
uses KAbstractAboutDialog[1], which uses KAboutLicense::name() to get the label
("License: ...") to show in the dialogue, and KLicenseDialog (the dialogue that
shows the actual license text), which uses KAboutLicense::text().

Neither name() nor text() consider KAboutLicense::OrLaterVersion; the latter
seems to affect the return value of KAboutLicense::spdx()

[kstars] [Bug 453444] New: Observation list wizard bug

2022-05-05 Thread Jurgen Doreleijers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453444

Bug ID: 453444
   Summary: Observation list wizard bug
   Product: kstars
   Version: 3.5.8
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: jurge...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

[NB I thought I submitted this request before on 2022-03-27 but can't find it
now. Excuse the repost if it is.]

This wizard can be useful in finding potential targets given the criteria that
can be used to filter on: type, region, location, date/time, altitude,
coverage, and finally brightness. After filtering the targets are meant to be
moved on to the wish list for further planning.

The problems I see are:
1. The filtering on brightness does not reduce the number of hits but actually
increases the hits so it seems to go in the wrong direction. Below in the
scenario when adding the brightness requirement the number of hits increases
from 12 to 199 objects.
2. When I disable the brightness-filter and update the count to 12 again; only
1 item is moved to the wish list. I expected 12 objects.

Settings:
- type "Globular clusters"
- region "All over the sky" (default)
- location Schijndel (51.617233492723365, 5.436070970473425)
--- date/time (2022-03-26 18:00-23:59)
--- altitude 40-90
--- coverage 40 (default)
--- brightness 6 (when used)

This is up to parts of the bluetooth stack below us. You'll want to contact
your distro about how they configure it or what version they ship. Let me
guess: Ubuntu 22.04?

Ok, sounds like the setting is set correctly. If you single-click on a Panel
applet (like Kickoff, the Digital Clock, or System Tray), does its popup open
and then immediately close? If so, then it sounds like a hardware problem with
your mouse and touchpad sending two clicks instead of one.

If that doesn't happen, we'll do some more debugging in a different direction.

If you choose to use a distro that ships very old versions of KDE software,
that's just going to be an inevitability, unfortunately. Distros that choose to
this are implicitly (or explicitly) promising to maintain the old software
they're shipping beyond the point where upstreams (i.e. KDE) are offering
support. So I would recommend that you contact the openSUSE people about the
issue. They should be able to help you since they have taken on the maintenance
burden inherent in shipping software that is over two years old.
