[plasmashell] [Bug 427861] Sometimes desktop loses its settings (wallpaper, widgets, icons settings) after re-login
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427861 Rolf Eike Beer changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@opensource.sf-tec.de --- Comment #84 from Rolf Eike Beer --- Just my 2 cents… as in comment#56 the symptom for me is that the desktop on one of my 2 monitors switches from wallpaper to folder mode. When I then set it back the other monitor immediately switches to folder mode. And then the same happens on the other activity. The panel stays in place. Out of curiosity: I don't have a [Containments][1] section, only [Containments][3], [Containments][69], [Containments][70], [Containments][71], [Containments][72], [Containments][8], and [Containments16Appletsts][6] (in that order). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 441668] Please make middle-click pasting optional
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441668 --- Comment #15 from Nate Graham --- Remapping/disabling hardware or virtual software buttons is kind of out of scope, but you can do it. I used to re-map Libinput's virtual buttons using xinput to do the same thing IIRC. FWIW if leaving your thumb on the bottom of your touchpad moves the cursor or starts a two-finger scroll, that's a bug in Libinput and you should report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/issues/. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441668 ryantg changed: What|Removed |Added CC||grat...@fastmail.com --- Comment #14 from ryantg --- I was really hoping for a setting to disable middle-click altogether. Even with paste disabled, middle click still has weird outcomes, like middle clicking on a firefox tab closes that tab. Currently you can set the touchpad to left or right-handed (which swaps the left/right buttons while keeping middle click in place), or you can set right click to "Press bottom-right corner" (which, of course, is actually the bottom left corner when in left handed mode) or "Press anywhere with two fingers"). The latter disables middle click on the touchpad, which is cool, but it also makes it so the mouse moves around when you rest your thumb on the bottom of the touchpad. In conclusion, disabling middle click paste is cool, but where is the option to disable middle click completely (and choose how you want the middle area mapped)? I would prefer the middle area to be a left click, with only the corner used for right click. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kde] [Bug 455003] New: Mouse pointer speed resets after boot/reboot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455003 Bug ID: 455003 Summary: Mouse pointer speed resets after boot/reboot Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: carlos75...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Pointer speed in KDE is resetting every time I reboot. I set the mouse speed in the System Settings → Input Devices → Pointer speed to the value I want (6th bar) → Hit “Apply” and everything is great. After reboot, the mouse is much faster. When I go into the settings, they don’t seem to be changed. Pointer speed is still on the 6th bar. To fix it, I have to move it to a different value, hit apply, move it back to the one I want and hit apply again. Mouse used: 1. Razer Viper Ultimate (wireless mouse with its own USB dongle). 2. Logitech M185: budget wireless mouse (also with its own dongle) 2. Steelseries Sensei 310: regular wired mouse The bug occurs with all models above, specifically on the wireless ones, but it happens randomly on the wired mouse (when it does, first both left and right mouse buttons stop working. After unplug and plugging the mouse, the buttons works again, but pointer speed has been altered to some default speed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set desired pointer speed 2. Reboot the system 3. [plasmashell] [Bug 454749] Under Wayland Dialog Popups appear in random places
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454749 --- Comment #2 from Eric Mesa --- The two that stand out to me because it kept happening are in Kontact and Calibre. I'll focus on Kontact since that's actually part of KDE, but I'll mention Calibre at the end as a further example. With the Kmail part of of Kontact, I drag emails into folders. Seemed to happen roughly every 2nd time. I drag the email to the folder and the box that says "Move here", "Copy here ", and "Cancel" will sometimes appear where it should - next to the folder I'm dragging the email into. Other times it would appear at some random place within the Kontact window. With Calibre (ebook management software) under the edit book dialog, if I'm adding authors, it has a little thing that appears below with suggestions of authors already in the database. But in Kwayland it was randomly somewhere else on the Calibre window. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 454991] New: Language KCM sets wrong language variable for European Portuguese (pt_PT)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454991 Bug ID: 454991 Summary: Language KCM sets wrong language variable for European Portuguese (pt_PT) Product: systemsettings Version: 5.24.90 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_language Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: eduardosare...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When we add "European Portuguese" language to KDE language settings, it correctly adds it but sets it wrong in the LANGUAGE varibles. After running "locale" in the terminal, the "LANGUAGE" variable is set to "pt" instead of the correct "pt_PT". Having just "pt" makes all apps that follow the system language to ignore that setting and fall back to the next configured language, or Brazilian Portuguese (it's VERY different from European Portuguese in many places and words, so please don't mix these two). This is because some apps read "pt" as being equal to "pt_BR". But all apps use European Portuguese correctly when "pt_PT" is used instead. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open System Settings, go to Language, add "European Portuguese" as the main language, apply. 2. Apps that follow the system's language, like any Chromium-based browser, are displayed in Brazilian Portuguese instead. 3. As an example, do "sudo nano ~/.config/plasma-localerc" and you can confirm LANGUAGE under "Translations" is set to "pt" instead of "pt_PT". 4. Change this file manually to "pt_PT", save it, reload plasma (logout and log back in) 5. All apps are correctly shown in European Portuguese. 6. Bonus, small related bug: After setting up "pt_PT" manually in this file, Language KCM complaints about having an invalid language configured and completely replaces our custom configuration if we click "Apply". It rewrites that config file with "pt" again. OBSERVED RESULT Apps are shown in Brazilian Portuguese (pt OR pt_BR) EXPECTED RESULT Apps should be shown in European Portuguese (pt_PT) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 22.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This bug was present for many years now, but I never really understood why (never cared too much about it), until now. Happens on any distro, but only with KDE. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454978 Maik Qualmann changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #11 from Maik Qualmann --- Ah, now the problem is clear. We shorten the camera manufacturer names because some manufacturers have long names (Co. Ltd. etc.). For me, NIKON without CORPORATION is found first in the DB, so it works. Hmm we'll probably have to allow the full name for the list. A LIKE search wasn't really good either, I remember. Maik -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
