Its really a pitty that the KUBUNTU-Team cant provide a LVM running installation! - with two LVM-used disks...!?? - And I would like it so much to get Kubuntu, because I hate the gnome environment and behaviour!! - Could anybody forward these posts to any developer who could resolve the problems!?? - will the resolving be part of any Release-note remark???:rip: thanks a lot anybody # The installation-routine of 18.04 LTS 64 bit seems quite buggy! - at least with a new 500 GB Samsung SSD-drive The drive was well recognied by the bios and also by linux and it was possible to manage it by gparted. I have a "old" raid-system in the PC which is also configured by LVM2 I tried to install in several kinds. 1.) manually - there was the problem, that in the lvm-configuration it is actually NOT POSSIBLE to give an specific lv-name to each lv - any changement seems also not possible - so the LVs are numerated notoriously from 1 to n - what is often not helpfully - when I also put the configuration on and start the installation - then the programm rubs without any question the Swap-partition of the OLD RAID-lvm !!! This is not very usefull since the Raid will be much slower than the SSD - and just I want to speed up the system! After installation there is the message that the grub-installation failed since it could not write to /dev/sda however the SSD has /dev/sdb THIS issue cames also in the automatical installation! Other issue: configuring first all LV with mountpoint and changing later it to set the format-option makes crashing the programm - when there is any LVM-partition it seems not possible to remove/delete it! - in the same way it is not possible to delete any partition in relation to an LV! or VG - - to make such changes seems not possible...! DOES the programmer of this nice prog have any real experience with LVM!??? 2.) automatical installation with LVM in my whole desesperation I tried now the automatical (guided) LVM - installation - but here the grub-installation fails in the SAME WAY! However I tried some howto - how to install or repair grub-install - but even this dont works as promised and fails with mount-issues - Also grub-setup ist not available! How shall I change to the new Kubuntu, when it is even not possible to realize a simple installation!??? ??:-\ How can I now install the actual kubuntu 18.04 LTS!??? Some tests with the LVM-Options enabled with the installation programm... seems strongly recommended! see also:

[kdeconnect] [Bug 416736] Using Multiimedia controls severely crashes Android One 10 clean install with only KDEConnect installed.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416736 --- Comment #2 from Sebastian --- Same behavior on Manjaro w/ Plasma 5.25.5, kdeconnect 22.08.0-1 and Android 12 (Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G w/ MIUI 13.0.5), kdeconnect 1.19.1 from Play Store. The bug I remember having it more than a year ago with my Xiaomi Redmi 7 (Android 10 w/ MIUI 12) and in Manjaro w/ Plasma, Kubuntu and KDE Neon. In my case, the Android UI crash when I'm playing something in a browser on my PC (Firefox, Chrome, Brave) and on my mobile I want to play Spotify (only happens on Spotify). It slowly starts to crash everything until tells me Android UI has stopped. Something that could be relevant is that the music app on my Smartwatch (Samsung) goes crazy to switch between playing Spotify and what the browser is playing on my PC. It can be solved by disabling the "Multimedia controls" or within that setting by disabling the "Show media control notification" in the app. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 459195] Overview effect can have both keyboard and mouse hover highlight effects, and they look identical
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459195 --- Comment #7 from Jin Liu --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #6) > The highlights looking the same for both keyboard and mouse selection seems > valid. Folder view is also like Dolphin, with two highlights but they look > different. Yes. And in Folder View, mouse hover doesn't reset keyboard selection, while in Overview it does. However, I doubt that Folder View is a good model for Overview: 1. There are not that many windows on one screen. So perhaps keyboard selection accidentally reset by mouse isn't such a big thing, to warrent extra complexity of two types of highlight. 2. Overview doesn't support multiple selection like Folder View. With multiple selection, "selection" and "hover" must be distinct. Not the case for Overview. IMHO how Kickoff handles keyboard and mouse selections looks good enough in this case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE Cannot do so reliably. Once it was setting a gaussian blur on a layer, another time it was selecting a brush. Seems random. Basically, try to use Krita to do basic digital painting. After about 10-15 minutes, it will crash. One time it was after about 3 minutes. OBSERVED RESULT Graphics drivers crash with varying severity. In all cases the monitor running Krita goes black and loses input signal for a bit. Sometimes I can get it to come back. Krita is white in those cases, but can be killed without issue from the task bar. ** I believe it is the AMD crash guard that is preventing a worse crash, but not certain. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459421 Bug ID: 459421 Summary: The transition animation when clicking on systray's hidden Notifications icon changes direction depending on previous actions Classification: Plasma Desktop Product: plasmashell Version: 5.25.90 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: System Tray Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ad.liu@gmail.com CC: mate...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 152242 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=152242=edit screencast of the bug SUMMARY When clicking on the hidden Notifications icon, it can slide in from either left or right, depending on my previous actions with systray. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click on a visible Network icon. 2. Click on Network again to close it. 3. Expand the systray and click on the hidden Notifications icon. 4. Note the direction of the transition animation. 5. Click on a visible Network icon. 6. Click on the "back" arrow at the top-left corner of Network. 7. Click on the hidden Notifications icon. 8. Note the direction of the transition animation. [krita] [Bug 459420] New: Brush preset "u) Pixel Brush" should start with "Align Brush Preview" enabled.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459420 Bug ID: 459420 Summary: Brush preset "u) Pixel Brush" should start with "Align Brush Preview" enabled. Classification: Unclassified Product: krita Version: 5.1.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY A pet peeve of mine with the default presets is that the pixel art preset doesn't behave the way a user would expect it to on a vanilla Krita installation (tested via flatpak). For new pixel artists coming to Krita, especially when working on a 1px scale, ensuring that a pixel is added where intended is an important QOL feature that we should support in this specific preset. I've attached a video illustrating the problem. TESTING PROCEDURE 1. Nuke your krita config and start 5.1.1 2. Switch to the pixel art brush. 3. Go into settings and enable the circle "Brush Cursor Icon" in the "General" tab. 4. Set pixel size to 1 or less. 5. Try painting on the corners within an intended pixel. OBSERVED RESULT There are two noticeable behaviors: 1: `u) Pixel Brush` will not adhere to a 1 pixel grid the way the user would expect for this specific preset when set to 1 pixel. This is because `Sharpness > Align Brush Preview` is disabled by default -- I think it should be on by default on this specific brush. 2: With the default brush preset, on the NW, NE and SW corners the pixels location will seemingly be either off or will similarly be inconsistent with the SE corner. EXPECTED RESULT 1: Pixel art brush should conform to pixel grid by default, as that's the intended use-case of this specific brush. 2: We should try our best to make small brush size stamping as consistent as possible between all 4 corners of a given pixel grid. Perhaps we should even unit-test this specific scenario. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is low priority, so I've gone ahead and marked it such. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 459419] New: The transition animation from systray's hidden Notifications icon to visible icons goes in the wrong direction

I.e. if the new item is to the left of the current item, it slides in from left, and vice versa. However, Notifications, when hidden, is inconsistent. Switching from a hidden Notifications to visible items, the new item slides in from right, despite hidden icons are in the rightmost in systray. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Expand systray to show hidden icons. 2. Click on Notification. 3. Click on a visible icon. E.g. Network. 4. Watch the transition animation. OBSERVED RESULT New items slides in from right to left. Currently Ark checks if there is sufficient free space in the destination when I try to extract archives via context menu of Dolphin, but the same does not occur when I open an archive with Ark and then try to extract it by clicking on 'Extract' button. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open an archive with Ark 2. click on 'Extract' button 3. choose a file system with insufficient free space as destination and click on 'Extract' button OBSERVED RESULT extraction starts and then fails with different results depending on the type of the archive used. If a 7zip archive is used, I get the error 'Extraction failed due to unknown reason', if any variant of tar archive is used a notification falsely says 'Extracting all files (Finished)', if zip or jar archive is used the error 'Failed to write data for entry: ' appears. [krita] [Bug 459415] New: Krita exports weirdly huge pngs when colorspace conversion is involed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459415 Bug ID: 459415 Summary: Krita exports weirdly huge pngs when colorspace conversion is involed Classification: Unclassified Product: krita Version: 5.1.1 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: File formats Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: rainco...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The pngs exported from Krita are really huge when the .kra is in a colorspace and .png is converted to sRGB during export. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open test.kra in Krita 2. File -> Export -> Save as Type: png 3. Export with default options OBSERVED RESULT The exported png is 2.39MB EXPECTED RESULT The exported png is much smaller than that. I opened the exported file in Windows' built-in Photos, save a copy of it, and it's only 767KB. If I converted the .kra in Krita and then exported it, it's about 400KB only. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Krita Version: 5.1.1 Qt Version (compiled): 5.12.12 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION test.kra is attached -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
