--- Comment #33 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com ---
yes probably compilation option was not passed to the MSVC build to support
UNICODE.

I will switch Windows build to the 0.27-maintenance branch until this situation
is fixed to Exiv2 main branch.

so, now we have a Q : why this report is for digiKam 8.0.0, where we use Exiv2
0.27-maintenance ?

Note: how Exiv2 team can decide to drop this important unicode support code in
the library ? I comment the Exiv2 report, wait and see a feedback, if any...

2023-06-05 Thread Maik Qualmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470566

It was removed with this commit because of supposedly "dead" code...well,
"dead" code was extremely important to Windows.

https://github.com/Exiv2/exiv2/commit/7933ff401ddb9768502c36b1febea06b854e176a

The MSVC build has Exiv2-0.27.5 and the unicode support didn't work either, but
that's probably because Exiv2 wasn't compiled with unicode support.

[kdevelop] [Bug 470685] New: Parser hangs on Template Literals/strings and Arrow functions

2023-06-05 Thread Jacob Mungle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470685

Bug ID: 470685
Summary: Parser hangs on Template Literals/strings and Arrow
functions
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.11.230401
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language Support: QML/JavaScript

arrow function in a qml file

SUMMARY
***
When parsing qml files the parser throws unexpected token on arrow functions
and template literals/strings then will stop updating after changes are made
both of these are well supported in javascript for a long time
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a qml file with an arrow function or template literals
(https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Template_literals)
2. wait for parser to finish
3. Unexpected token `>' will appear next to arrow functions
Unexpected token `' will appear next to template literals
4. Hover functions; the "where is this declared" box doesn't work for the file,
neither does highlighting
5. Parser will sometimes stop working kdevelop is restarted

OBSERVED RESULT
arrow functions and template string will show as errors and highlighting will
fail

EXPECTED RESULT
file parses normally, and is fully highlighted

It use internally a post conversion of the open(BasicIo::UniquePtr io). I have

I've now implemented a workaround to fix the bug, which will clear the memory
leak whenever all alarm windows are closed. Note that if you always keep at
least one alarm displayed, this fix will not work.

The proper fix would be in KCalendarCore library, as explained in comment 6,
but that has not yet been approved. As also stated, the future Qt6 based
version will not have this bug.

The workaround will be in KAlarm version 3.5.6 in KDE Apps 23.04.3, and is
implemented by commit ef7c3e328a7f42f00acd94b75b51ad9d503e6a8e.

applets/batterymonitor: Fix wrong tooltip when plugged in but discharging

In this case, the tooltip subtext line would still say "X time until
fully charged" because it was not checking to make sure that the battery
was in fact actually charging. This commit makes it do so, so now it
will fall through to the next condition that displays text suitable for
a battery that's discharging.

[kwin] [Bug 470682] New: windows move monitors when waking from sleep

2023-06-05 Thread Henrik Hudson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470682

Bug ID: 470682
Summary: windows move monitors when waking from sleep
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: multi-screen
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rhav...@rhavenn.net
  Target Milestone: ---

After waking from sleep windows move to different monitors. I have a dual
monitor setup. When waking from sleep windows will sometimes move to the other
window. This "was" (I think) fixed in the early 5.27.0 release, but has crept
back up again. It's much better than pre-5.27, but still annoying.

Gut feeling is kwin tries to "place" the windows before both monitors fully
respond or are "awake", so it just moves everything to 1. They're identical
monitors: Dell U2719D . Sometimes they move to the "primary" and sometimes to
the secondary. Both monitors are connected via HDMI.

This does not happen after every sleep (that I've noticed).

Knock on wood for myself, but...has anyone experienced this problem when
running Plasma 5.27.5? (I see that's the version tagged in the bug metadata,
but in the description it looks like it was actually on 5.26.5)

I ask only because I switched one of my two devices to openSUSE Tumbleweed
about a week ago, and have been running 5.27.5 (AFAIK) since then, and haven't
had this issue show up since.

There were a ton of bugfixes going into 5.27.5, so I just wonder if anyone can
replicate the issue on that version, and if perhaps a happy side effect of one
of those bugfixes was this issue being resolved?

(And Rafael, my understanding of this bug - at least as I experienced it before
- was not that the frozen interface was still functional as displayed, but that
clicking in the places where the buttons should show up will still sort of
"work", although since you can't see what's "there" it's very hard to know if
it's working as intended)

Classification: KDE Neon
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified

CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Basically I wanted to test Plasma 6 on a virtual machine using Neon Unstable.
The image I downloaded was dated June 4th, 2023. Unfortunately, the
breeze-icon-theme package is not installed in that image. If you boot it up in
a live environment or install it, most icons will be missing. If after
installing you do 'sudo apt install breeze-icon-theme' and then select the icon
theme in System Settings, it works as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download Neon Unstable from June 4th, 2023 (This is the only image I tested)
2. Boot in live mode

OBSERVED RESULT
Icons will be missing

EXPECTED RESULT
breeze-icon-theme should be installed by default.

Mate, that's the problem we're *all* having. The panels still emerge from
auto-hide on mouseover, but they don't actually update. Clock remains fixed at
the previous time, 'Task Manager' widget shows old windows, etc.

[Oxygen] [Bug 436767] Kolourpaint drawing icons icons are hard to see in the dark theme

2023-06-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436767

poudinkpopin...@gmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||poudinkpopin...@gmail.com

--- Comment #10 from poudinkpopin...@gmail.com ---
Created attachment 159484
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159484=edit
KolourPaint with Oxygen and dark color scheme

This is a problem, but not in the way it's described here. Most of the icons
seen in the attachment screenshot are the bundled fallback icons KolourPaint
has in case the active icon theme lacks the necessary icons. These icons are
from KDE3 and predate Oxygen. The rest of the icons seem to be from Breeze (not
Breeze Dark), which might be because the icon theme being used was missing
KolourPaint's Tool Box icons and falling back to Breeze as a result. When
Breeze icons are used as fallback, the light version is always used regardless
of the color scheme, so on dark color schemes you get icons that are very
difficult to see. I'm not sure why only some icons in the attachment are
falling back to Breeze, while others are falling back to the ones packaged with
KolourPaint. Both Breeze and KolourPaint have all of the necessary icons, so
there should only be one level of fallback. Still, the important part is that
none of the icons from the attached screenshot are from Oxygen, so the bug the
person who opened this was facing probably had nothing to do with Oxygen.

Despite that, this is still an issue Oxygen has. Oxygen is missing several of
KolourPaint's Tool Box icons. To be specific, it's missing
tool_freeform_selection, tool_elliptical_selection, tool_line,
tool_color_eraser, tool_spraycan, tool_rounded_rectangle, tool_polygon and
tool_curve. For all of those icons, it ends up falling back to Breeze, so those
icons end up being hard to see, because again, Breeze fallbacks for icons are
always Breeze light, even on a dark color scheme. I've attached a screenshot of
KolourPaint with Oxygen and a dark color scheme to show the difference.

Can you clarify what "No monitor detected" means, specifically? *what* doesn't
see the monitor?

Can you run `kscreen-doctor -o` in a terminal window and paste the text it

Is NOT a duplicate!!! My panels freezed are showed up when I move mouse over
edges (I had them auto-hidding) but are not interactive (as I told in subject).
They don't react to mouse clicks or icons are highlighted. When mouse is over a
icon, it shows modal information and thumbnails, but it's the only reaction to
mouse over them.

because I wanted to use apt again.

I got stuck in a loop in which kdenlive crashed so, despite not having any
extracted clips, I found a way to continue was to clean the project so removing
a clip I had previously added. Then adding back the clip allowed me to continue
normally.

[plasmashell] [Bug 470540] Screen order is messed up after connecting an external display

FWIW the "manage desktops and panels" window is not supposed to mirror the
actual physical layout of the screens; it displays a flat one-dimensional list,
while screens can actually be displayed at arbitrary locations in 2-dimensional
space. So let's ignore that part of the report.

A few questions:
1. Can you describe how the output of `xrandr` changes, if at all, when you
reproduce the bug?
2. Can you describe how the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` changes, if at all,
when you reproduce the bug?
3. Does the bug happen on Wayland too? Or is it 11-only?
4. Did you upgrade from an earlier Plasma version? If you did, can you move
aside (not delete) your ~/.local/share/kscreen folder, re-create the display
arrangement in System Settings > Display and Monitor, reboot, and see if it's
better now?
5. If it's still not, can you try re-arranging the desktops and/or the panels
in the Manage desktops and panels window to be in the place where they're
supposed to be, then reboot, then try to make it happen again, and see what
happens?

Groupware crashes randomly and I stop getting notifications.
I have to manually open KOrganizer and reload the account for it to start
working again; it's been crashing almost instantly the last couple of times I
did that though.

How are you determining that the primariness of the screens has been switched?
Is it because the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` has changed and indicates that
a different screen is primary, or is it based on observed side effects such as
the desktop and/or panel switching positions?

Can you paste the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` after this happens, and then
again after you fix it?
