[kmymoney] [Bug 351274] add graphical report for payees
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351274 --- Comment #6 from Martin Tlustos --- Well, the easiest way is to just enable a graphical view of the already available "transactions by payee". That of course would seriously clutter the chart with too many lines, but one could adjust the filter/sort to show just the regular donors. Then they would be able to see sudden changes more quickly than by scrolling through an endless list of transactions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484499 Bug ID: 484499 Summary: Cursor and other apps become slow when running Jetbrains' IDEs. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.2 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: platform-x11-standalone Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: gonzalofari...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using any Jetbrains IDE, the desktop in general becomes laggy, to the point of being unusable for certain tasks. The easiest example I can find is to move the cursor over the Task Manager (provided it displays the thumbnail of the window when hovering it). But it also affects things like dragging files or text, reproducing videos on VLC, or almost anything that makes a floating window (like a tooltip, a menu or a thumbnail) show up. This could be either a bug caused by Jetbrains' IDEs or Plasma itself, but figured out I'd post it here because: 1. This didn't happen using the same version of their software in Plasma 5. 2. This doesn't happen in any other DE that I've tried (Gnome and LXQt). Bug described originally here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-6830/Poor-performance-with-KDE-Plasma-6-X11 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Plasma X11 2. Open any Jetbrains IDE 3. As a workaround you can use the KWIN_DRM_PREFER_COLOR_DEPTH=24 environment variable, which makes KWin drop down to 8bpc as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471369 Natalie Clarius changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED --- Comment #12 from Natalie Clarius --- I do understand there is a difference between having to read a percentage and seeing it in an icon and that you prefer the latter; what I'm saying was that I'm not convinced this is a strong enough reason to outweigh the benefits of what was wished for here and implemented so that it would warrant reverting the change or adding an extra configuration option for it. As said, I'm open to reconsider if I get opinions from more than one user or new insights on the other bug report, but the issue described in this thread is fixed, so let's keep it to the point. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[qca] [Bug 482819] kwalletd6 sometimes crashed in QCA::PrivateKey::deriveKey when starting Proton VPN GUI
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482819 --- Comment #10 from Matt Fagnani --- My kwallet is opened automatically when I log in to Plasma with the same password. You could try installing GNOME 46.0 in your Fedora 40 installation as I have in case there's something from GNOME that's involved and running seahorse, evince, and GNOME disks in Plasma as I described. I tried running kwalletd6 under valgrind a week ago, but I only stopped kwalletd6 once before running it under valgrind so kwalletd6 kept restarting automatically and I didn't get it to crash under valgrind then. I followed your instructions. The valgrind report showed an invalid read and a crash due to a null pointer dereference in QCA::PrivateKey::deriveKey at the same line as in the gdb trace I reported originally, which I guess was the null d pointer in the variable this from privateKey in KWalletFreedesktopService::createSessionAlgorithmDhAes. ==121563== Memcheck, a memory error detector ==121563== Copyright (C) 2002-2022, and GNU GPL'd, by Julian Seward et al. ==121563== Using Valgrind-3.22.0 and LibVEX; rerun with -h for copyright info ==121563== Command: /usr/bin/kwalletd6 ==121563== Parent PID: 119206 ==121563== ==121563== Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s) ==121563==at 0x2BDA8B18: ??? ==121563==by 0x2C05E13F: ??? ==121563== ==121563== Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s) ==121563==at 0x82E63F1: QtWaylandClient::QWaylandInputDevice::Keyboard::keyboard_key(unsigned int, unsigned int, unsigned int, unsigned int) (qwaylandinputdevice.cpp:1356) ==121563==by 0xA488055: ffi_call_unix64 (unix64.S:104) ==121563==by 0xA48469F: ffi_call_int.lto_priv.0 (ffi64.c:673) ==121563==by 0xA4874ED: ffi_call (ffi64.c:710) ==121563==by 0x8354F2D: wl_closure_invoke.constprop.0 (connection.c:1025) ==121563==by 0x83557A2: dispatch_event.isra.0 (wayland-client.c:1631) ==121563==by 0x8355A4B: UnknownInlinedFun (wayland-client.c:1777) ==121563==by 0x8355A4B: wl_display_dispatch_queue_pending (wayland-client.c:2019) ==121563==by 0x82CCCD1: QtWaylandClient::QWaylandDisplay::flushRequests() (qwaylanddisplay.cpp:229) ==121563==by 0x62E45A4: QObject::event(QEvent*) (qobject.cpp:1437) ==121563==by 0x5001F67: QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) (qapplication.cpp:3296) ==121563==by 0x6291217: QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) (qcoreapplication.cpp:1121) ==121563==by 0x6295146: QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents(QObject*, int, QThreadData*) (qcoreapplication.cpp:1901) ==121563== ==121563== Invalid read of size 8 ==121563==at 0x4D981DC: QCA::PrivateKey::deriveKey(QCA::PublicKey const&) (qca_publickey.cpp:1030) ==121563==by 0x141991: UnknownInlinedFun (kwalletfreedesktopservice.cpp:424) ==121563==by 0x141991: KWalletFreedesktopService::OpenSession(QString const&, QDBusVariant const&, QDBusObjectPath&) (kwalletfreedesktopservice.cpp:266) ==121563==by 0x166F42: UnknownInlinedFun (kwalletfreedesktopserviceadaptor.cpp:63) ==121563==by 0x166F42: KWalletFreedesktopServiceAdaptor::qt_static_metacall(QObject*, QMetaObject::Call, int, void**) (moc_kwalletfreedesktopserviceadaptor.cpp:410) ==121563==by 0x167253: KWalletFreedesktopServiceAdaptor::qt_metacall(QMetaObject::Call, int, void**) (moc_kwalletfreedesktopserviceadaptor.cpp:489) ==121563==by 0x5744B10: QDBusConnectionPrivate::deliverCall(QObject*, int, QDBusMessage const&, QList const&, int) (qdbusintegrator.cpp:977) ==121563==by 0x5748674: QDBusConnectionPrivate::activateCall(QObject*, int, QDBusMessage const&) [clone .part.0] (qdbusintegrator.cpp:879) ==121563==by 0x57492C5: activateCall (qdbusintegrator.cpp:825) ==121563==by 0x57492C5: QDBusConnectionPrivate::activateObject(QDBusConnectionPrivate::ObjectTreeNode&, QDBusMessage const&, int) (qdbusintegrator.cpp:1460) ==121563==by 0x574B959: QDBusActivateObjectEvent::placeMetaCall(QObject*) (qdbusintegrator.cpp:1580) ==121563==by 0x62E45A4: QObject::event(QEvent*) (qobject.cpp:1437) ==121563==by 0x5001F67: QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) (qapplication.cpp:3296) ==121563==by 0x6291217: QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) (qcoreapplication.cpp:1121) ==121563==by 0x6295146: QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents(QObject*, int, QThreadData*) (qcoreapplication.cpp:1901) ==121563== Address 0x0 is not stack'd, malloc'd or (recently) free'd ==121563== ==121563== ==121563== Process terminating with default action of signal 11 (SIGSEGV): dumping core ==121563== Access not within mapped region at address 0x0 ==121563==at 0x4D981DC: QCA::PrivateKey::deriveKey(QCA::PublicKey const&) (qca_publickey.cpp:1030) ==121563==by 0x141991: UnknownInlinedFun (kwalletfreedesktopservice.cpp:424) ==121563==by 0x141991: KWalletFreedesktopService::OpenSession(QString const&, QDBusVariant const&, QDBusObjectPath&)

[plasmashell] [Bug 471369] Change battery icon based on the current power profile
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471369 Natalie Clarius changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #10 from Natalie Clarius --- I don't see where I was being rude, I was simply asking you what the remaining problems are. "just stupid", on the other hand, is. I'm still not convinced that a graphical depiction of the charge level while plugged in outweighs the usefulness of an inhibition and power mode indicator, given that we already have the percentage label to convey that information even more accurately, and that the battery icon is already unconditionally shown when not charging. I also don't think this is enough of a problem that a configuration option is warranted here; not every detail must or can be configurable, and part of KDE's customizability means that there is the option of creating a custom widget to suit specific needs. You can reopen the other bug report as wishlist and I'll reconsider if there are more people who think this was a change for the worse, but the issue described in this thread is solved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 471369] Change battery icon based on the current power profile
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471369 --- Comment #9 from Logan Turner --- There is no need for this rude attitude. Some users like myself simply prefer having a graphical indicator for battery, and taking it away in favour of a static icon is just stupid, to be completely honest. I've already offered alternate solutions, that is users who dislike the new change can disable seeing these new static icons. Some may prefer having a text readout instead, but again, that is an option users can make. Isn't the whole point of KDE to be flexible and customisable to everyone's needs? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

However, it is also logical that if the user selects a user/password protected disk or partition, it will ask the user for this information and only if they are incorrect, deny access. This is how other applications (such as those mentioned above) that allow partition copying do it. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484494 Bug ID: 484494 Summary: Reintroduce the ability to specify clipboard duplication format. Classification: Applications Product: konsole Version: 24.02.0 Platform: openSUSE URL: https://discuss.kde.org/t/copy-as-html-absent-from-kon sole/1288?u=rokejulianlockhart OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: copy-paste Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org Reporter: 4wy78...@rokejulianlockhart.addy.io Target Milestone: --- Flags: performance- STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory/standard/x86_64/konsole-24.02.1-1.1.x86_64.rpm (although the version which removed it was quite some time ago, this is at least a reference). 1. Attempt to copy text in a specific format: plain text, or HTML. OBSERVED RESULT Konsole used to allow the user to choose plain text or HTML. This is seriously problematic for me, because when the colour of a command's output is integral to its readability (as is true for `dmesg`, `journalctl --dmesg`, and `powershell`) I need to be able to copy the output in its exact likeness. However, to do this, I must first paste it into something which reports that it accepts HTML directly, like a web e-mail client, then download that draft and extract the HTML from it. If this feature were reimplemented, I'd merely need to choose a submenu and then paste it into my text editor. EXPECTED RESULT It does not anymore. To test easily, start KTorrent from the terminal with the LANG=tr variable. Normally you should see the percent values on the main table view with the %100 format. However, they are still in 100% format. There is one in the accessibility column in the info pane, it still reflects the original string in "100 %" format.
