Video files do not contain Exif or IPTC metadata. ExifTool itself only writes XMP (possibly a QuickTime container) into video files. To change the dates in video files, the option to change the timestamps with ExifTool should be used in the Time Adjust Tool. Of course, this assumes ExifTool supports this video format. This is similar behavior to KDE5 where you would enable prefer lower latency (skip frames). One KDE5 you would be able to select prefer smoother frames and it would not stutter as much. The issue is happening with AMD hardware and KDE6. Switching to GNOME fixes the issue, so it's not a driver/wayland issue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run game 2. Force it to have 100% GPU usage 3. This annoying bug prevented me from completing any task related to the system tray taskbar. I suspect the issue arose when I migrated from KDE Fedora 39, as I did not delete the .config file and kept the same desktop environment. It seems that some configurations from KDE 5 to 6 did not match properly, resulting in this problem. When utilizing the taskbar without floating, the system tray icon remains invisible even after a reboot. However, with the floating taskbar, the system-tray window reappears normally after a reboot or if the taskbar is removed and reinserted. It seems that rating is somehow loaded from database. If I place the same JPG files into subdirectory "r", XMP files are created correctly. I can even copy XMP files from directory "r" to "ř" and they are read/interpreted correctly (for JPG files inside "ř"), but never updated. Same result with HEIC files. Writing metadata into JPG files works just fine. My Settings -> Metadata: Write this Information to the Metadata: Image tags + Rating Delegate to ExifTool backend all operations to write metadata to files: (can be true or false, doesn't change anything) Sidecars/Write to sidecar files: Write to XMP sidecar only If I set it to "Write to item and XMP Sidecar", then the JPG files are modified correctly (event inside "ř" directory), but XMP files are still never created. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thumbs up for the fast response! I was afraid this might be some intended
change, read somewhere on discuss.kde.org that the window management was
changed ("for the better") and had the gnome story in front of my eyes...
The patch works for me. Thanks again for the fast fix, kate has become somewhat
irreplaceable for me.
